Hey y'all, living in the center of the island right now, heading to a concert at the Arena in a few weeks for the first time. Was wondering if uber/lyft to the arena is reasonable or is there usually horrible traffic and/or price gouging? What is the alternative? Would it make sense to drive to Fruitvale and take BART one stop over?

When will they repaint the lines on Webster?? Going towards the tube, the lines fade and some cars think they’re staying in their lane but actually almost hit the cars next to them. Does anyone know if the dirt plans to re paint the lines on the road?

I was on a walk when I saw a small-medium black/brown Chihuahua/terrier/Dachshund ish dog with a collar running down central towards Webster. I saw it again at the intersection of 6th and Santa Clara running towards 5th street. The dog was running pretty fast both times and did not stop when called to. I hope someone can get this doggie or the owners find them. I will make a report to animal control in the morning but I'm hoping this baby makes it home safe and sound before then!

I just moved to the area for work, a solo drummer, and looking for a practice space in or around Alameda. I live on the island and was wondering if anyone was looking to save some rent by letting me set up my kit and jam/practice (probably while they're all at work). I'd only really use the space between 1-4pm.

We’re looking for an enclosed private garage somewhere in the city of Alameda. It’s for a small car, used infrequently for fun, and never at night.

Car is clean and well maintained, doesn’t leak any fluids, and is fully insured. Need minimum dimensions of 16’ x 8’ but larger is welcome.

Hoping for something dependable at around $300/mo, maybe rented in 6-month or annual durations, but let’s work something out.

Transit funding is being gutted and without this measure, BART, AC transit, Muni, and other transit systems are going to face VERY VERY VERY BAD cuts.

Some of you may think, “yeah but I don’t take transit so it won’t affect me.”

1. Think about equity. There are plenty of people in our community who can’t afford cars or can’t

1. on transit.
2. Think about climate: better transit is one of the best things we can do to reduce car emissions.

If neither of those is enough for you and you think because you don’t take transit, you just really won’t be affected…

1. Think about HOW MUCH WORSE traffic will get if half the people who take BART and buses have to drive to work or wherever else. The traffic will be apocalyptic. Car drivers should all vote for this measure.

Just had a long talk with the new, youngish owner of Spritzers, the cafe that now serves Ethiopian food on the weekend.

She wants to expand Ethiopian food days (right now the food is served on weekends), change the name to something Ethiopian, provide Ethiopian coffee ceremonies and host community game/trivia/craft nights.

She's also putting a ton of plants in the cafe to make it look lush and green and going to change the seating all around to make it more comfortable.

I'm very excited but also they just don't get a lot of foot traffic so if you're ever near Central between Webster and Eighth (right next to Washington park), please go there and support!

I’d open one right fricken now if I could but for now lets just discuss it on reddit =)

I thought they might work on the narrow section (closer to Alameda Ave, as you drive from the Central Ave entrance), but that still remains as-is.
