is there anything you might enjoy doing as a volunteer? sometimes helping others can get you out of your own head/problems (*& give you a sense a purpose).

Honestly It's something I've thought about from time to time. I think I would do really well working in a position to help others with their mental health. But the truth of the matter is that I'm completely uneducated on the subject from an academic point of view and only have my own experiences to rely on. So because of that I've never considered it much more than a passing thought.

i actually would suggest anything but that field as the goal is to sort of get you out of your own head/personal struggles. do you like *spending time w/ animals? children? senior citizens?

I used to volunteer at the local animal shelter. The dogs are always happy to see you. :)

I would love to help people, but how? I can put things together like furniture or business plans, I can give advice because of the constant head noise for decades, but who is going to let me do either for them?
