And also… trying to temper my expectations, ACOSH is just the opening act and it’s not going to move the story along *too much*

I’ve been seeing the frenzy about the ACOSH leak. I’m not gonna lie I’m eating that scene up. It’s so messy and dramatic. The fact that Elaine of all people is in the middle of a situation like this is kind of amusing to me. She’s always so reserved and withdrawn. This situation throws her right into the fray of a conflict. Once she stops crying I’ll be interested to see how she navigates this.

I do hate the position it puts some of the characters in (Lucien😭) but I think it opens the door for some possibilities in terms of plot and character growth.

I don’t think this will be the “big moment” that fractures the group though if that’s even an intention in this book. Lucien has never really been that tightly knit with the IC. I think both parties tolerated each other but I wouldn’t describe them as harmonious. I think something grander would need to happen to cause a true divide amongst the whole. However, this could make him withdrawal.

I have a theory that may be unhinged but I don’t think this situation was accidental. Elaine is a seer and maybe I’m misreading how her abilities could work but if Lucien was going to walk in I feel like she’d know that and what the result would be. Maybe in a way this conflict was necessary for other things to fall into place (like a Doctor strange one chance situation). Lucien experiencing this could prompt him to do x which causes y and ultimately results in z. Her response to the situation just doesn’t seem like the response of a single woman getting caught pre-hookup. It feels like she got caught doing something she didn’t necessarily want to do. Or got caught doing something that would look a certain way to someone if they walked in. If she was genuinely just trying to hook up with Azriel I feel like her response would have been different. I’m probably overthinking it but I’m excited to see where it goes.

*Edit: Or the same theory but focusing on Azriel. Maybe when he came to her room and made contact with her she got a glimpse of his future and saw what path this incident would prompt him to go down so she went forward with it.

The collection falls really flat for me. $125 cdn for a see-through robe that is 100% polyester?! $150 cdn for a corset that is also 100% polyester.

Summer doesn’t really feel like summer. The blue and white print gives me more spring vibes than summer. The Night Court feels the most representative, even still the metallic matching set looks like any astrological constellation fashion I’ve seen before.

I was very excited for this and now realized I should have had no expectations. Very disappointing how much of a money grab this is and how little it feels like ACOTAR.

I’m never right with my conspiracies though don’t follow my thoughts

Like it just popped into my head and it has been a while since I read it but it wasn't really that bad that Feyre would die, was it. Like wouldn't it be better to know than be blindsided and even when Feyre was not mad, Cassian didn't even tell her and kept her going on the journey.

That journey is the most painful part of the story. Whenever I can't cry (depression), I just listen to it and well it helps like the journey part.

Like everyone was like don't tell Feyre but it was certain death for her at that point.

Nesta was wronged as well. She was in so much pain and felt betrayed and I know she didn't approach in the best way but the cruelty kinda breaks me.

This popped into my head and I have been getting so much anxiety about it.

Idk why.

I can't get over Cassian's cruel tone then and yea it turned out to be for the best but still.

Which location are you most excited to visit and why? Any theories on which characters may go where? And why Rask was made much smaller?

Interesting to see a new location in the AC, do we think Lucien may end up back there, or it could be linked to Beron/Eris! With Samgravah now on the map, do you think we will go back there and a plot point for Gwyn may develop, or do you think it's simply been plotted as mentioned in previous books? I do think however, that it would have been added in SF if that was the case! It's also interesting that The Forest House now appears, which we know Gwyn's mother resided in for some time- so I'm assuming we may revisit her lineage!

One thing I find really interesting in this fandom, specifically, is how so many people loved different characters until we get their POVs.

We saw it happen with Cassian. And lemme tell you, we are absolutely about to see it with Az and Lucien (if he gets a pov chapter).

Just look at the fandom faves (on reddit, the only plays I consume ACOTAR content): Azriel, Eris, Tamlin. What do they all have in common? They’re side characters who don’t have POV chapters.

People fill in the gaps the narrative has left with what they want to be real.

Likeeee this was literally Feyre, Tamlin, and Rhys in the first half of the book 🤣

I recently finished ACOTAR and now I am more than half way through Mist and Fury.

Was wondering if anyone recently started Mist and Fury or recently finished ACOTAR and wants to talk about it?

I would like to be able to talk about the book just like we both watched/read for the first time a few chapters and then wet get a chance to talk over it, share our feelings and our thoughts. That would be great.

I can’t say I loved reading the leaked pages, BUT let’s keep in mind where this falls in the scheme of the new trilogy:

Leaked pages: 240-245
ACOSH: 352 total pages
ACOFM: approx 896 total pages

This leak is less than 20% of the way through The Valkyrie Cycle. At 20% of the first trilogy, Feyre was a human, Under the Mountain, in love with Tamlin, had never been to the Night Court, hated Rhys, had met zero other members of the IC and was making the initial bargain with Rhys to spend a week each month in the night court

We need everybody to hit rock bottom so that we get some good growth!

Amarantha cursed the Tamlin and the SC 7x7 years to find the cursebreaker or else her magic would claim him as her consort. As a reminder of this, they all had to wear masks. So why were they still wearing masks when the time was up? The original curse never stipulated that Tamlin's curse would be lifted if he went to Amarantha willingly. So why was his heart still stone and the mask still in place when Feyre went UTM?

I'd be happy to hear some explanations :)

Guys, the new ACOTAR world map just dropped, and apparently Sangravah is in the Night Court. So why was a stolen child (Gwyn’s mother) taken from the Autumn Court to the Night Court? Were there no safe temples in Autumn? And why was she raised at the Vanserra forest house?

Could she have carried the secret of Narben’s location through her bloodline? Amren says a water nymph told her it was “taken care of,” so could there be a connection there? Is that why Gwyn has a surname, which could only have come from her mother, since the male figures in her family are unknown (an Autumn Court grandfather and a possibly Night Court father, now that we know where Sangravah is)?

Water nymphs are lesser faeries, so why would one of them have a surname when even High Fae don’t have them? Could it be to identify this supposed bloodline tasked with protecting Narben? Or is it to hide an Autumn Court bastard bloodline?

Why did Lucien recognize the patterns on Sangravah’s carpets in the first place? Since Sangravah is so close to the Court of Nightmares, could Gwyn and Catrin’s father be someone from there? The magic chose someone for their mother during the Great Rite that day, but WHO? I’ve even considered Keir (yes, I’m losing it), but I just can’t come to any conclusions.

Since this happened 28 years before the events of ACOSF, most of Prythian’s powerful males were Under the Mountain at the time, but the Court of Nightmares wasn’t. Could someone from the Autumn Court (Eris, for example, haha) have managed to attend the Great Rite because of their connections to Keir and his court?

As for Lucien recognizing Sangravah’s carpets (which I initially thought were from the Spring or Autumn Court), could he have visited Sangravah before he went to live in the Spring Court? The Autumn Court maintains ties with the Court of Nightmares, so that would make sense, right?

I also considered the possibility of Jesminda being Gwyn’s grandmother, haha, but that might be impossible. Her appearance was never described, was it? I guess it depends on how old Gwyn’s mother was when she participated in the Great Rite, since Jesminda died around 150–200 years ago, right?

I also came across a theory that Gwyn’s grandmother might have seduced Beron, which could explain why her half-breed daughter grew up at the Vanserra forest house, but Eris then sent her to the Night Court to protect her.

I am genuinely losing my mind over this, oh my god. So many theories and absolutely ZERO conclusions😭

I hate the fact that Az just...left Elain (ik he was forced to so i've no argument there however Uk what I mean) and didn't even think about what she must be going through, I didn't like them together but if they were endgame I was willing to be open minded and idk love it anyway but this leak just ruined every other ship because now I don't want Az with anyone, ​not even Eris like... And the way the ic just betrayed Lucien ​and still were okay with him supplying info to them. That is just a nope.

And knowing Lucien doesn't have anyone to rely on except the ic nd jurien, vassa and still doing it was uhh...irritating 😭 because they r so out of character here like​... and the way Elain just kept on crying made me feel so pissed because I was like do something, say SOMETHING

edit: it upsetted me more because i used to love the ic, I still do but I am like...mad because I thought they were on Lucien's side and valued, respected him enough to at least let him know tbh

So I noticed in the new map photos that there’s three circles in the middle. Looks like the sun going from night, day, dawn, BUT what if it’s rifts for each maasverse world?!

Can we discuss how Amren came to inhabit her fae body. She aquired it while IN her cell. How did the new body get in her cell? She said that she became something different and WALKED out of her cell. Did someone knock on her cell and come to visit?

We have seen Elain described this way once before..

I don't know why it has given me the ick about Azriel. Am I alone in this??
