Question Transmission

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Mazda Demio with 54,000 km on it, and I was wondering: when do people usually do a transmission fluid change?

Most Zimbabweans I’ve talked to seem to never do it, even with cars surpassing 100,000 km. I’m thinking about changing mine soon and just want feedback from people knowledgeable about cars. Thanks!

I know someone who got it, w the same mileage. Is it the one with SkyActive tech? He took it to a specialist who told him its not necessary to have anything changed

If it's got no vibrations, no noise, gears are slotting smoothly, and if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

You're right that Zimbabweans don't change those things. But those Mazda's are insanely well made. 54,000km is basically new. Just service it according to the manufacturer recommendations.

Can't remember if that one has a timing belt or timing chain. If it's a belt, you'll change that at 150,000km. Transmission fluid, you're probably good for 100,000km or more.
