Windows 11 rebooted on me mid-upload again, so I finally killed it properly instead of installing yet another "update blocker" app.

The fix is three registry policies under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU: - NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers = 1 - AUOptions = 4 (schedule updates, never auto-install-and-restart) - NoAutoUpdate = 0 (updates still flow - you just don't get the surprise reboot while you're signed in)

Plus SetActiveHours (8am to 2am here, the max 18-hour window).

Honest caveat: it can still reboot in the narrow window when nobody is logged in (02:00 to 08:00 on my machine). And I deliberately did NOT use the "disable the update service" nuclear option, because that is how you quietly end up unpatched.

I filmed the whole thing, including reg query and gpupdate /force so you can see it actually applied: https://youtu.be/s7GFmQXp0Xw

Anyone here handle this a different way - gpedit, Task Scheduler, or something else?
