Xbox controller vibrates twice then refuses to turn on while trying to connect to bluetooth on PC.

This randomly started happening after months of it working normally. It still works wired, but for some reason, when trying to connect to bluetooth, it just vibrates twice then dies.

The only way to get it to light up again is to take the batteries out and put them back in again, then it flashes quickly for like 10 seconds but doesn't show up on the bluetooth add devices list.

Things I have already tried: 1) Updating the firmware - Updated it via the Xbox accessories app, still no fix.

2) Turned the power saving off on the bluetooth adapter and other networking devices via device manager.

3) Getting new batteries.

4) Searched everywhere on Google/Reddit. Nothing works. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Sound dampening for controller

Is there any good options for a noise dampening on the buttons for controllers? I've looked but can't seem to find anything legit, just didn't know if anyone had Jerry rigged anything or found a way to solve the noise when pressing buttons or moving the joystick. Any help would be appreciated

8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless — Charging light turns off after a few seconds. Is this normal?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller from Amazon India, and I have a question about its charging behaviour.

When I connect it to charge, the red charging indicator turns on for a few seconds and then turns off, even though the battery isn't fully charged.

I monitored the battery percentage, and it increased from around 77% to 85%, 91%, and 95% while charging. However, the red light still turns off after a few seconds.

I've tried a different USB-C cable and a standard power source, but the behaviour remains the same.

The controller seems to work fine while gaming. My main concern is whether the charging light turning off so quickly is normal or whether my controller might have a battery or charging issue.

Questions:

  1. Does anyone else's Ultimate 2C Wireless behave this way while charging?

  2. Does the red light normally turn off before the battery reaches 100%?

  3. Should I be concerned or request a replacement?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who owns this exact model. Thank you!

Never had an Xbox brand controller that didn't get wild stick drift within 2 weeks of purchasing. Never again.

At the same time, never got an off brand Xbox controller that got stick drift. Ever. What does that tell you?

r/XboxController • • 12h ago

What is the cause and fix to this issue? Been through 2 controllers that both suffered this fate. They just jiggle all about. Its not stick drifted either.

Should i buy the xbox series x/s controller for my laptop

Post image
10 Upvotes

I was thinking if i should buy this controller or not cause i have seen mixed reviews about people getting stick drift in a few months and some people getting no problems for years so is it like luck based or what cause i dont want any problems as it is an expensive controller

Is the bluetooth connection and usb c wired connection good or are there any difficulties you have faced ?

I only will really play story games like god of war, rdr2 etc on my laptop and would rather use keyboard mouse for fps games

Country - India (i will buy the controller from my local shop)

Other controllers in my consideration are the ps5 controller, third party controller like evofox, 8bitdo etc

Decent Wireless Controller

Hi, I'd like to get a wireless series X controller for my kid that won't suffer any stick drift after a few months.

Is this the best option?

8bitdo Ultimate 3

Will it need a dongle in the Xbox to work?

It's confusing as the same named model in white apparently isn't wireless.

Do they do a wireless version that isn't Rare branded?

I mean best as in cheapest that'll do the job well. Is the Gamesir G7 another option? Although £140 doesn't seem like a good choice for a controller for a child (teenager).

Ma è mai possibile? Controller xbox

Post image

Come risolvo senza spendere altri 80 €?

Late night our puppy decided to eat the rubber off the thumbsticks on my original controller. Trying to find a cheap replacement. I mainly play FH6 as of late, so idk if stick drift will matter much, or if its worth getting and fixing. I have a few others lined up already, including the lunar shift which I got down to $60.

Wash your dirty paddles.

I know I’m a monster but this paddle was sticking and completely useless. This is the third time I’ve washed it like this and it has worked perfectly every time. I take the batteries out and wait like an hour or two for the capacitors to discharge then just wash the thing. I put it in front of a hair dryer to dry for an hour or two and it works great again. No, there aren’t any screws to take out. No, isopropyl alcohol doesn’t get the crap out that my kids get in there. Besides, ISO is water by a large fraction so what’s the risk? I’ll post a comment with it working again.

Xbox One controller/battery help.

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Posted this in the wrong place first time. Lol This morning my Xbox One controller was acting stupid, so I went to open it remove the battery. The battery was lodged(Hard) and by the time I managed to remove it the + - connectors were bent in my controller. Battery shell was also broken so I placed it in a bag, a jar (loosely closed) and then a pot. These Xbox One Series X controllers just ain’t working for me, and this particular situation was a bit dangerous. Questions are can anybody recommend a better more stable controller that works with the Xbox one X(Not series) and is it dangerous to use another battery in this controller with those prongs bent? I have an old Xbox One controller way older than this one that works, but the charging port is broken. =\ Hoping I can use this one to charge.. I don’t post really, so no idea how to add a pic.

The four letter buttons on my controller keep not responding.

After a few hours of play time the face buttons stop responding, the rest of the controller works fine. The only thing that fixes the problem is a hard reset, but eventually the same thing happens. Does anyone know what causes this?

RB Button constantly breaking

Does this happen to anyone else, I have broken over 10 RB buttons over 2 years. I keep sending the controllers back to Xbox. Once they fix them, it takes around 1 week and it’s broken already. It’s the thin plastic part in the RB, that presses the button. It always snaps. I use the Xbox series X/S controller. Does anyone know if there are metal replacements? Or any other way to fix this problem?

Xbox One micro USB cord holding issue

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello! So whenever I try to use my controller via micro USB cord, it does work, but it has to be in an exact position to work. And it’s not a very large region that it will work, so it’s constantly turning off, or the cord downright just falls out of the controller. I’m not entirely sure how this ended up happening, but it’s been like this for over a year. I’m assuming it was something along the lines of dropping it while plugged in, causing it to bend the micro USB port.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue before? And do you think I’d be able to use a slim screwdriver to attempt to bend in back so it actually keeps a grip of the cord rather than literally just falling out?
I don’t currently have the means to get a new controller/new part(s), so that’s out of the question.
Any experience and advice is very much appreciated, thank you!
