UI [UI] My UI for WoW: Forever

Thumbnail

I decided I want to use as few add-ons as possible forever, so I naturally chose Ellesmere. I am not using all modules, though. The only other add-on that I have is HealthBarColor (since I want the default Blizzard player and target frames, but I don't want to use Ellesmere's ones; they are a tad different).

Keep in mind that I didn't level past 10 in the beta, and there might be some issues or edges to polish, but I will update the profile as time goes by

Also posted it here in case anyone wants to copy it or use it as a baseline for his UI: https://wago.io/0bIYg8Q3R

ADDON [addon] Made a seamless map Addon for Forever that keeps Blizzards classic map style (Openmap)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Openmap: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/openmap

Hey everyone - been working on this throughout the Beta and figured I'd finally release it. There have been a lot of map addons posted here as of late, many of which forego blizzards classic maps for a stitched minimap. I've always wanted a massive seamless world map that is fully zoomable/pannable in the original art, so that's what this is. Along with some cool QoL things like resizable map / removing the annoying black bars in full screen etc.

Openmap is an open source, seamless world map addon for Forever that prioritizes the original Vanilla map art style. I've gone through the painstaking process of aligning and blending all of the maps to create as seamless of a map as possible with Blizzards original art files. You can adjust your settings to tastefully bring in minimap data on close zoom levels (or disable it) as well as hide unexplored areas.

As with most coding projects as of late Claude helped me write the code for this and is assisting with open source management since that is a lot of work. The repo is fully open sourced on git so feel free to pull it down and help me develop it if you're interested - would love to see more addons take this approach so things don't die in the hands of a developer that loses interest.

Anywho, I'm here if anyone has any questions/bugs/feature requests. Thanks! -Ji

? Returning player [help]

• Upvotes

I'm returning to wow after a decade away, I'll be playing the Forever version on the 4th. Maining a afflic warlock, my question is what are my add-on choices for having debuff bars for tracking dots?

I preferred a bar layout rather than a name plate solution.

Thanks 👍

UI [ui] WIP Forever UI. What do y'all think?

Hi all! First post here! Been working on a more modern, yet immersive UI for Forever with a slight bronze theme.

It's still a centralized UI, but I built a few custom textures and borders, as well as a personal add-on to clean up some unnecessary Blizz clutter that make it kinda distinct IMO.

The backbone is MSUF, Weaktextures, BetterBlizzFrames, BetterBlizzPlates, and Masque with a custom skin. Portions of the UI also fade, but wanted to show it in full action.

What do yall think?

Hi, I wanted to ask if there’s an addon that highlights or otherwise shows which quests are part of the main story, similar to how it works in newer expansions. I started playing The Burning Crusade today, and something like this would really help me out. Thank you!

ADDON [Addon] Wow Forever FlashHUD — a customizable Hunter toolkit

I’ve been building FlashHUD, a Hunter addon for WoW Forever. It started as an ammo counter and grew into a toolkit for combat timing, cooldowns, pet care, alerts and everyday conveniences.

The part I’ve put the most effort into is making it easy to customize. Open a feature’s settings, hold Alt to see where you’re editing, and move it into place. There are previews throughout the menu, magnetic alignment, Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y undo and redo, and searchable settings.

What does it offer?

Combat timers: Auto Shot, cast/channel, melee swing and mana with a five-second-rule indicator.
Cooldown tracking: three customizable rows, spell/item imports and separate specialization layouts.
PetHUD: health, focus, happiness, feeding tools and pet debuffs that display in combat.
Hunter indicators: Aspects, Hunter’s Mark, Summon Hawk and more.
Alerts: missing Aspect/pet, Improved Tracking, unspent talents, low ammo, durability, Mend Pet with range text, and other combat reminders.
Everyday tools: optional auto-repair, grey-junk selling, ammo restocking with purchase confirmation, weapon-training hints and a duel countdown.
Your own layout: Quick Setup or Advanced setup, saved profiles, six menu themes and individually selectable features.

You can keep it simple or build a fuller HUD around the tools you use.

1.39.2 brings the updated menus, expanded preview galleries, combat pet-debuff tracking and a lot of editing improvements.
I’d love to hear what other Hunters think. Found a bug, missing something, or have an idea? Come join us in The Hunting Grounds and post in the FlashHUD forum. If the idea fits and the client supports it, let’s see what we can make happen. 🙂

ADDON [Addon] Kerzo Classic Quest Log & Kerzo Postal Suite (Forever & Retail)

Thumbnail

Hiiii, I'm Kerzo.

I wanted to share two addons projects I've created sometime ago for both Retail and Forever, built to fix common pain points in modern WoW while keeping things lightweight and combat-safe. Both addons are available in Curseforge and this is my first time posting publicly as I feel these addons are mature enough for people to know more about them, specially in Reddit 🙏🏼. Sorry in advance if I'm causing in any problem.

Kerzo Classic Quest Log brings back the classic quest window (with an in-game switcher between authentic 1-panel Vanilla and 2-panel Dual Classic layout) and stops the full-screen map from opening when clicking tracked quests. It adds a quick-use button for quest items on the frame bezel, bag tooltips with quest progress, a turn-in XP/gold summary, best vendor sell value reward highlighting, cross-alt quest tracking, and full native support for ElvUI/EllesmereUI theming. Also for Retail includes Weekly quest tracker, World Quest Tracker and tons of customizable features and supports all WoW languages.

Kerzo Postal Suite is a full mailbox overhaul. Aside from a rock-solid Open All that never gets stuck on full bags (or I think so! XD), it adds a Mailbag tab that pools all your incoming mail into a searchable virtual bag for selective looting, automated send rules to ship any kind of item or category, remote mailbox tracking across all alts with TitanPanel support, and multi-recipient/long letter sending up to 5 times longer than usual mail.

Well you know, lots of things, better check out. Both are available at CurseForge:

- https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/kerzo-postal-suite

Any feedback or feature suggestions are very welcome 👉🏼👈🏼! I'm optimizing both for Forever and Retail and will keep updating them. 💚

ADDON [addon] Repair Bill - calculates repair bill for entire party/raid after wiping

Hey everyone,

I built Repair Bill, a lightweight durability auditor designed to inject some corporate humor into progression nights and dungeon wipes. Instead of quietly eating your repair costs, it tallies your death penalties, tracks running durability liabilities, and generates itemized, bureaucratic "invoices."

Key Features:

  • Itemized Expense Statements: Breaks down true durability loss with over 100 satirical fees (e.g., "Floor Surface Friction Assessment", "Emergency Healer Relief Surcharge").
  • Automatic Wipe Audits: Detects full party/raid wipes and posts casualty surcharges and group totals directly to chat (toggleable).
  • Minimap Dock & Config Window: Smooth, draggable gold coin icon for quick access, plus a clean settings frame to toggle announcements and sound alerts.
  • Lightweight & Clean: Built purely with native Blizzard UI frames—no heavy third-party libraries, no combat taint, and virtually zero memory footprint.

Commands:

  • /rb – Prints your current itemized bill in local chat.
  • /rb share – Posts your bill to Party/Raid chat.
  • /rb opt – Opens configuration.
  • /rb autowipe – Toggles automatic wipe announcements.

Grab it onCurseForge(currently live for WoW Forever / 1.60.1). Feedback and feature ideas are welcome!

ADDON [addon] Mateos mage frames - unitframes and QoL for forever

Thumbnail

I originally just wanted to recreate the weakauras I have played with for years, but one thing let to another and now I have a full suite of ui improvements with modular control of each part.

Mateos mage frames

The key principles I took from my weakauras was invisibility. If something is there, it’s usable, if it isn’t - it isn’t.

Key features
- Mana is important, health rarely is. Redesigned Unitframes around this.
- Range cluster for nukes, with target distance and speed.
- Cooldown manager with offence, defence, consumables, procs and buff reminders.
- 3 modes for focus target
- pipe style rings for teleports, consumables, tradeskills and raid marks.
- Loot feed, loot rolls window and dungeon summaries
- Flight timer and tooltips with flight time on flight masters.
- XP ring around the minimap with mouseover xp/hour.
- Chat formatting and font replacement.
- Spellpower coefficient calculations on gear and spellranks, telling you when a new rank is worth it.
- And much more…

ADDON [addon] NextAlt - independent goldfarmer's best friend

This addon was made for a compact overview of the gold-rewarding daily/weekly activities. Basically a helper for people who want to farm gold and don't want to rely on other players (AH, boosting, etc).

It shows rep activities (soiree, abundance, ...), current bountiful delves, current special assignments and all current worldquests with a gold reward, per character. If you switch characters, you can still access another character's open activities through a dropdown menu to plan your route (data gets loaded on login, so login every few days/on wednesday to keep the data up to date).

Supported languages: german, english (all other languages automatically use the english version)

Can be found on curse here: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/nextalt

ADDON [addon] MSUF Unitframes - Supports now all WoW Versions from Vanilla, TBC, MoP, Forever and Retail

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, it's me again :)

MSUF just released a very big update. It can now be used in any WoW version, from Classic Vanilla, TBC and MoP to Forever and ofc Retail WoW. After nearly one year, I am very happy that MSUF can now be your go-to unit frame addon for any WoW version out there and will be supported for years to come. It has been quite a ride since the Midnight Alpha.

The new version brings 104 new features and changes, from bigger ones like Arena Frames to smaller ones like having the option to delete multiple profiles at once. In addition, it includes 103 bug fixes and 20 performance improvements. A lot of work went into this update, and I am very happy to finally share it with you. The goal of MSUF is to shape, color transform your Unitframe to what you want and the tools no other WoW addon offers out there to do so.

Now even if you do not use MSUF I also wanted to tell you about something that Blizzard added with 12.1.5: native pixel-perfect layout support for addons.

If you ever wondered why a thin border sometimes looks blurry or why two borders look slightly different even though they have the same size, UI scaling can be one reason. WoW uses UI coordinates, and depending on your resolution and UI scale, those coordinates can end up between actual screen pixels. That can make an otherwise straight edge look softer or uneven.

Addon developers could already compensate for this through calculations in Lua, including Blizzard's PixelUtil helpers. What is new is that WoW can now handle that rounding directly in its native code and automatically apply it when the layout changes. Blizzard's own source marks the older layout setters as deprecated in favour of this new API. Blizzard's PixelUtil source

For anyone interested in the technical side, the call is:

frame:SetRoundLayoutToNearestPixel(true)

This enables automatic rounding to the nearest screen pixel for that region. Blizzard also added PixelUtil.SetRoundLayoutToNearestPixelRecursively(frame, true), which applies the setting to the frame, its existing children and their regions. Developers can therefore enable it individually or apply it to an entire existing frame hierarchy. Blizzard's API definition, recursive helper

MSUF now uses this native support where the client provides it. Older clients keep their compatible pixel alignment. I apply it selectively, because rounded corners, masks and smoothly moving bar textures need different handling from straight borders and frame edges.

For you as a player, the goal is cleaner borders and more consistent alignment when moving or scaling your frames. It is a small detail compared to something like Arena Frames, but those small details matter a lot when you look at your UI every day :)

Thank you to everyone who has used MSUF, reported bugs and shared suggestions over the last year. There is still more to come.

I also wanted ot shoutout u/r41z0r u/UnhaltedGB and lots of others from the community that inspired and helped with bug reporting, improve or even just use MSUF.

ADDON [addon] BagSmith: Bags, Bank & Inventory (V. 0.13 Update)

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

Hey all! I've been building BagSmith, a bag addon for WoW Forever that turns your inventory into a clean, sortable spreadsheet (or a tidy icon grid, if that's more your style). The last few updates added a lot, so wanted to reshare it here.

V0.13:

- Sell Junk + Mark as Junk: mark non-grey items (if applicable) as junk with one click and it sells right along with your greys at the next vendor. Turn on auto-sell at vendors as well.

- Loot Helper: bags full mid-dungeon? When loot or a quest reward won't fit, BagSmith shows you exactly how to make room: stacks to combine, junk to toss (cheapest first), and it finishes looting for you. It never touches your favorites, quest items or Pawn upgrades, and nothing is destroyed without your say-so.

- Favorites: star your most important items and they pin to the top of your bags.

- Track as Currency: track any item (reagents, crafting mats, event tokens) in the currency drawer, even when you have zero.

- Keybindings: mark junk, favorite items and more.

- Pawn Support: Pawn's green upgrade arrows show right on your items.

- Warlocks: clear out extra Soul Shards, keeping as many as you want.

- Bag Bar: Manage Bag Slots entirely from within BagSmith.

V0.12:

- Travel Mode: one click on the signpost icon besides the close button tucks away the toolbar and filters, leaving just your items and search. A compact, on-the-go view for when you're out adventuring.

- Auto Travel Mode: it can switch off on its own when it's time to manage your bags (at the bank, the auction house, a vendor, on a flight path or while trading) and back on when you're done.

Also worth knowing

- Two Styles: Modern (clean and flat) and Classic, which uses Blizzard's own art so it feels right at home in the game.

- Sheets: saved searches as tabs, so "Consumables" or "Crafting Mats" are always one click away.

- Supports Auctionator for AH Prices.

- A full bank window, a currency drawer, and a character picker to peek at your alts' bags.

Check it out on CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/bagsmith

Feedback, bug reports and feature ideas are very welcome.
Let me know what you'd like to see next!
What's Next can be found at the bottom of the CurseForge page.

ADDON [Addon] NeedRoll - Expanded/Modernized replacement for AtlasLoot

Thumbnail
gallery
286 Upvotes

I love AtlasLoot, but the UI and functionality of it is deprecated and I'm tired of using the half-baked forks people ship with every iteration of Classic, so I decided to give writing my own modernized/facelifted evolution of that addon a go. It retains the functionality of AtlasLoot and expands upon it in ways I've always wanted to see in addons.

It's called NeedRoll and you can find it on CurseForge, I've been working on this for a while now and put up some initial versions a few days ago, but have been quickly iterating on it and feel good about its current state of today with v0.7.0: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/needroll

Similar to AtlasLoot, Everything is in it's respective categories, however instead of digging through dropdowns it simply uses a tab system at the top of the pane to quickly navigate between sections (Dungeons, Raids, PvP, Factions, Collections, Professions). My goal was to keep things neat and organized with a hint of style to keep the addon from looking horribly out of place in WoW: Forever.

Some of the major features included so far:

  • Loot for every dungeon and raid, including the new Forever ones we have access to thus far. The droptables were built initially with the cmangos/classic-db and they've been updated to reflect the changes that came with Forever. Some instances that are not available to us in Forever show the item, but cannot load it's tooltip data because Blizzard has obfuscated that information from us until the item itself is obtained by a player, so this will update dynamically as things are discovered.
  • There are maps for every dungeon we have access to with the ability to navigate through it and click the boss icons to open their drop tables by clicking them or selecting them in the Encounter pane.
  • Each dungeon shows the quests available for Alliance/Horde and tells you if you haven't started it, are on a part of the chain, on the specific dungeon quest, or have completed it. Raid attunement chains are also supported for Onyxia, MC, BWL and Naxx (Classic raids that have not been confirmed are tucked away but still available to view, only Hyjal Summit and Onyxia are openly displayed currently).
  • Rep and PvP vendor lists, with Forever's new factions items. I've done a lot of work to eliminate SoD bleedover, and for the most part this has been addressed, so it should be correctly showing Forever items only unless a version of the item from the 1.60.1 client exists that is different from the version of the item added in the 1.15.x SoD client
  • Professions information including all learnable reciples from the trainer, including dropped/purchased recipes along with where they are purchased from or the top 3 mobs that can drop the recipe.
  • Shopping List feature that lets you browse the professions menus, add items to the list that breaks down what you need to purchase to create those items. Optional checkbox to subtract materials you already have in your bags from the list of materials needed.

I built this with the intention to create a flat minimalist UI, but after supporting that as well as a Native UI that keeps the look and feel of WoW: Forever, I kind of fell in love with the Native UI. It uses all assets/icons/etc that are straight from the game files as opposed to the minimal UI drawing frames with just boxes and lines, etc. Both variations are still in the game, and swapping is as easy as clicking a toggle, but I suggest the Native UI as of right now, maybe I'll facelift the Minimal UI later on to make it a better fit.

One thing I want to emphasize: I am a software developer by trade, use of AI coding is something I've come to utilize, however this was primarily used for building out the visuals using Blizzards frames, etc as I'm not a front-end dev (and that content scares me). I handled the backend work and data sourcing, but had help building the visuals initially before swapping to the Native UI as the primary build.

I want to stress.. none of the art/assets are AI generated. Everything in the addon is Blizzard's own in-game art/assets/icons/maps. The only thing I cannot source from the game itself is the maps for the new Forever dungeons, so those are Santiago Reyes' maps from his Atlas de Azeroth: Forever project, which he gave me permission to use. They're great, go check out his work here, he's created some truly awesome work and it's a shame to see some people are already running his work through genAI and creating horrible abominations of his work.

It's still early, but I'm pretty happy with where I've ended up considering initially I was just doing an exercise in recreating an AtlasLoot addon. If something's missing/wrong or you want to see something added, let me know and I'll look into it and see if it fits within the scope of the existing features.

ADDON [Addon] AussyLoot and AussyLFG updated for 12.1.5 and Kith’ix

Post image
0 Upvotes

Disclaimer - Both addons have been heavily assisted by AI over the last few months.

Hey, I’ve updated both addons for 12.1.5. Thought I’d put the changes in one post since I’ve already posted about them separately.

AussyLoot

  • Added Kith’ix loot and bonus roll tracking.
  • Updated the Wowhead and Icy Veins BiS lists for all 40 specs.
  • Fixed Catalyst recommendations showing the wrong farming source.
  • Improved the crest planner so it shows which slots need replacing and what the upgrades will cost.
  • Fixed Tidebound Grotto missing from the Rolls tab.
  • Fixed a few issues caused by the item API changes in 12.1.5.
  • plus much more

AussyLFG

  • Added Kith’ix to the raid filters, keeping the raid selection on one row.
  • Fixed Lust filtering hiding groups that still have room to recruit someone with Lust.
  • Warning when results have been capped at 100 (Blizzard's limitation).
  • plus much more

Both also have theme presets and custom colours now, so you don’t have to use my green theme anymore lol.

Thanks for the feedback on the previous posts. If you find anything wrong after the patch, let me know.
