Discussion I KNOW IM THE MINORITY BUT..

After they release the patch were the color palet is closer to the original (warm and orange, and a higher contrast) I can't see anymore, I really liked the way the remaster looked, those soft greens and cold toned colors (the game was colorful still, there were genuine visual bugs), but now I can't see anything with this contrast the game has, the shadows are black voids again, and upping the gamma always looks bad, I wish they would have just release it as another game instead of updating it.

Discussion The common people lack all common sense

I have played this game when I was pretty much a kid when it first came out 11 years ago so did not pay much attention to this detail back then however, now playing the remastered, I've come to realize that the common people, mainly speaking, the peasantry, and surprisingly some of the nobility as well, are as dumb as a fucking rock. The idea of witchers being considered freaks and mutants is nothing new yes, but oh my god man why do they keep actively insulting the witchers, to their face? They all seem to be aware that witchers are genetically mutated to be much more enhanced than any normal human and those people fight and kill horrors beyond comprehension for a living and bang hot sorceresses in their spare time (ok maybe that's just Geralt). But maybe not spit at him in passing? Maybe hold your tongue before calling him a goddamn freak? While even the worst witcher can crack any human like a glowstick, how come the people do not have the basic common sense to stay on their good side at least? Where is the survival instinct telling you to shut tf up against talking down to a witcher?

If a witcher walked up to me after a job done with him covered in monster blood and carrying a gigantic griffin head hanging from a fucking hook, I am certainly not skimping out on the pay, I'll even invite him for supper and see if he needs a place to crash for the night and listen to any cool ass adventures he had. Its genuinely crazy how stupid people are. I am losing it behind the screen watching a toothless peasant who shits in the woods and cant even comprehend letters calling Geralt a freak and spit at his feet while Geralt, god bless him, stands there in silence taking it.

I get that its inspired from medieval Europe where most people shared a single continental braincell but I am still appalled at this insane behavior.

I probably haven't said anything that hasn't already been said, but I needed to vent this before I flipped and lured the next Leshen to the nearest village.

Discussion They desperately need to fix glitched armorers/blacksmiths

I played this game for the first time roughly 5 years ago and am running into the same issue now that I did then. The midcorpse blacksmith is completely glitched and I can't talk to him, and now I'm Kaer Trolde and the armorer and blacksmith are also glitched there and you can't talk to them. I've meditated, I've waited, I've left and come back, and still no option to speak to them.

You'd think they'd fix a glitch they've had for years with the remaster.

Help! Why is my armor so dark blue? I have put on the black dye and it barely makes a difference if none. It’s the original base game default signature armor set

Discussion Best mod(s) to keep Death March feeling like Death March?

The remaster has the same problem as the OG and NG. Death March is easy after level 10 or so. In NG, I used this mod but it's not updated and looks like the creator isn't going to have time to update it.

Looking for solutions.

Help! Can anbody suggest tips for the Shrieker Contract? This shit is unbearable.

This fight is genuinely testing my patience with this game. I can excuse bad combat to an extent, but this just sucks. The Shrieker gives me a bleed effect that I can only remove with Quen. That takes 5 seconds before its gone and by that time I have lost a large amount of HP. I then use a potion which very slowly heals me back up to full health. By the time that is done the fucking cunt has hit me again and I have to do the entire cycle again. I also find it really difficult to predict when he is going to attack.

I'm not even on a high difficulty. Am I just bad at this game? Am I not doing something right?

Will I regret not upgrading quen? Im lvl 17 and literally haven't used it once. Just using Igni, Yrden, bombs and my big fucking swords.

I find dodge to be enough for defense or will quen be super necessary down the line?

Discussion The game shouldn't require a connection to load your existing save files.

Post image

I've noticed an odd issue with the remaster, if the game can't establish a connection to mod.io, players can't load their existing local saves, at least on consoles.

This might not affect most players, but some people may be temporarily unable to connect to the internet or mod.io's servers for reasons beyond their control.

The bigger concern is what happens if mod.io's servers go down. You'd be unable to play this single player game that you paid for, despite having all your mods downloaded locally and available on your device, simply because the game can't establish a connection to an external service.

I think this is something that should be addressed in a future patch. If you'd like to request this change you can report it to CDPR using this support page

Edit: This effectively imposes an always online requirement for mod.io modded saves which is unnecessary and restrictive for a single player offline game. I don't believe this is intended game behavior as CDPR themselves said players should be able to access their modded saves offline with the required mods installed.

Art Show me your witcher tattoos

Hey I have a lot of tattoos and I am still thinking about a witcher one. I already have an idea that is a little niche I would say and it will not be looking like a witcher tattoo whatsoever. I am planning on getting the mural that avallach paints in the cave when Geralt first meets him in the books, a purple beast hunted by a bunch of cavemen (fully hard as well lol). I want to see some other cool witcher tattoos that do not strike as a witcher tatto at first and give me an explanation.

Discussion This W3 remaster is a joke, so many bugs and odd things happening

I’ve seen so many visual bugs, weird combat issues where Geralt will just swing his sword or cast a spell the exact opposite direction of the enemy, and more. I’ve played this game fully through about 4-5 times since it initially came out and this playthrough has by far been the worst. The only time I’ve actually had real issues with the game.

It actually makes me worried for the state of the Witcher 4 at launch and at this point I’m probably going to hold off on getting it until the bugs get ironed out. If they managed to make this game WORSE by adding content, I’m concerned about the future.

Help! Is the game worth playing now?

Sorry for the dumb question, but I really don't understand whether it's worth playing or is it better to wait for a year or so untill most issues will be fixed.
I completed the game 2 times when it was released and a few years after that, before the first graphics update. Now I saw the remaster and it looks amazing (I played on the old laptop and now I have a PC with 4080, so the difference is very big). But I constantly hear about some bugs and broken features here and there.
So the question is, how critical are those broken things and is it worth playing now?

Help! Any idea how to fix this grain effect on outlines? (PC, Ultra, DLSS Quality, PT, FG 2x)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m playing on a 4090 at 4k ultra settings with PT on , DLSS Quality with Ray Reconstruction on, and frame gen 2x, NVIDIA hair works on at 8x aa. I’ve tried turning all of those settings off but the flickering grain on edges didn’t fix.

Is this a bug on my end or is this just how the game renders outlines? Does anyone else have this issue?

Edit: fix was turning off depth of field

Help! Raytracing vs Performance

First picture is Raytracing, second is Performance.

I wanna play the game on Performance because i dont like the 30 fps raytracing Mode. It has some bad stuttering. But ofc it looks better. But Performance is even worse. It just blacks out almost a whole entire area. Its such a shame.

Im playing on a base PS5 with a 65 OLED TV

Is there a fix to it?

Everything that can be on Ultra+ is with the rest off but Trees are not spawning in and the grass is pretty much black. AMD says drivers are up to date and this is a clean install. The game runs smooth is just the visuals look awful.
