Discussion Feathers in the Strangest Places

• Upvotes

I fell out of my craft for a few years, and I'm just now feeling called to rekindle it. As this feeling was first returning, I found a small white feather in my hair product drawer, with no plausible way of getting in there! A week later, another white feather in the home. Now, I've started spell work again. Last night, I found yet another feather - this time it was white with a grey tip. I know feathers typically symbolize spirit reminding me I am not alone, and on the right track, but I can't help wonder the significance of finding them in inexplicable places, and the colour change to grey as I rekindle my craft. Thoughts?

PS I checked all my cushions. No rips!

Question What would you do?

• Upvotes

Sorry for the ambiguous title, but I didn’t know how else to put it.

I keep a money bowl, and “feed” it often. I interact at with it and keep it alive. However there has been two instances in the past week that have me curious about its effects.

First was, I was approaching someone’s front door while working, and I noticed a $20 bill on the ground right next to their car. I put it in a safe spot and left a note so they knew what happened, and could have their money back.

Second was, I was at the grocery store today attempting to purchase some fancy tomatoes at self checkout. When it wouldn’t ring up, I asked a staff for help. She rung in the cheap option for tomatoes and I asked if she was sure, as these were much more expensive. I told her the price and she immediately changed it to the proper price.

I am very much a do good, and good will be done unto you person. I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. Is this my money bowl spell attempting to bring me money, and I keep rejecting it? Is there something I did while creating the money bowl that would have led to me getting money in dishonest ways?

Question Complete beginner looking for heavy spiritual boundaries and protection from toxic family members

Hi everyone, I am completely new to this and an absolute beginner. I am currently living in a very toxic, heavy environment with family members who actively wish me ill, speak horribly about me, and are projecting a lot of negative energy my way. It is taking a massive toll on my mental health and energy levels.

I am already working on my real-world exit strategy and looking for jobs to get out of this physical space as soon as possible. In the meantime, what are some basic, beginner-friendly protection methods, boundary-setting visualizations, or cleansing practices I can do in my room to shield my personal energy from their malice? I just want to protect myself and keep my energy safe until I can leave. Thank you

Question i understand cemetery dirt from the actual graves of people, but what about from trees or other non graves?

i’m not super interested in baneful work but i’m not against it, it’s just not for me as a regular practice. i have learned however that i’m pretty dang skilled at protective workings, if not for myself then for my friends, and i’ve always been intrigued with divinatory work, spirit communication, the other side, and caring for the deceased. i also feel a deep connection with trees: i’d like to care for a sapling of my celtic birth tree to one day be planted in my forever home, and i find myself visualizing trees quite a lot during workings; when trying to visualize an astral temple, the first vision that came to me the most easily and naturally was a hollowed out maple tree in the middle of a lush, autumnal forest. if i were to kindly ask a tree on the grounds of a cemetery for just a little bit of its dirt, how would that compare to the dirt from a grave or the entry gates? in my mind i see them as sort of guardians of the cemetery residents, alive but silent among the quiet dead

Tips, Tricks, & Ideas Hosting for the Hunter’s Moon!

Hello!!
My friends have indulged my request to join me in my spirit/magic work on the hunter’s moon! I don’t completely follow a set belief system, and more so worship the earth and focus in spiritual work. This is my first time doing something with others. And I was wondering if there was anything specific we should do to celebrate the full moon, honor the spirits of loved ones passed, and bring in renewed energy.

I already have an idea of what I’m planning for us!
- cleansing for all of us to start the night
- building a small alter for loved ones (cleansed and protected obviously)
- a dumb dinner where we honor them
- sigil writing
- tarot (from myself, I wouldn’t have them do it with no experience)
- candle dressing for the coming season
- making moon water and charging crystals
- manifestations!

Again it’s my first time planning something for us and my friends are not well versed in magic workings, so I’m planning on guiding them through it and explaining the importance of certain steps and rituals. So any tips or advice is welcome!!!

TIA!!

Meme my ingredients haul today traumatized the shop owner

I needed to restock on apothecary ingredients today, mostly my hex reversing and crossing ingredients. I so happened to have seen Mandrake Root as well and got really excited because many shops don’t sell it due to its toxicity. Long story short I ended up with rusted nails, graveyard dirt, sulfur, mandrake root, poppy seed, wormwood, and other small things I needed. I looked like I’m putting a deathly curse on someone and now I’m laughing at it because the shop owner was like checking me out at the register and goes “um… anything… fun planned?” Typing in the Mandrake 😭and the poor man looked like he was going to cry and my dumbass at the time had no clue what he meant so I went “no! :3 just relaxing at home I just got back from a trip!”

LMAOOOO AND IM CRYING LAUGHING ABOUT IT NOW I FEEL SO BAD

Spells Channeling energy into a reconciliation and relationship healing spell 🖤🥀

A little glimpse into one of my recent workings. 🖤🥀
This was part of a larger ritual focused on reconciliation, emotional healing, strengthening love, rebuilding trust, and creating a healthier foundation for a relationship.
In this clip, I’m focusing my energy and intentions into the spell bottle before completing the working.
For those who practice love or reconciliation magick, how do you personally approach the energy work portion of your rituals? I’d love to hear about different techniques and experiences. 🖤

Trying to add some vibes for Hestia, but at a loss for what should be added. I consider myself a green witch, so I think I've got that covered. All I can think of is what else can I add that represents hearth. Any tips or hints I can add, please share.

Resources Could I use a purified tooth brush to clean and maintain my altar, or should I use a homemade brush?

Self explanator but I (20f) just started putting together my altar. Currently, my altar is a little messy and I want to make sure I maintain it properly. Currently I'm low on money and I don't have options to buy one. Which option would be better? I can run to a nearby park and grab some pine needles if necessary.

Art I created a dark variant version ok KIKI for Halloween- hope you like it!

Hey everyone, Im having some fun doing some spooktastic color digital sketches this month for halloween. AS you can see here, ive re-imagined the Studio Ghibli witch character KIKI in a darker, puritan design. I think this could be a fun project to keep re-imagining the Ghibli films as darker, horror style posters. Anyways, let me know what you think!

Altar Monday🕯️ Check Out My First Altar

Post image
87 Upvotes

I’ve done spells and sigils occasionally throughout my life. This year I’ve decided to be more intentional with magic. So, I cleaned out a junk spot in my bedroom and put up an altar last week during the new moon. I’m pretty happy with it. I’d love your thoughts and feedback!

Here’s what I’ve got:

Evil eye, star made from grapevine, Stonehenge snow globe, beads from the Caribbean given to me by a friend, mushroom trinket, bell, coral collected from St. Thomas, stone from the Spiral Jetty at the Great Salt Lake, stone from a friend, Libra jar containing protective Jumbie beads, sugar skull matches, divine feminine candle, woman cards, moon dish with jade, lepidolite, and mint, white sage & incense, my grounding crystals in a velvet bag, and a fallen leaf to acknowledge the season.

Question Name in Shoe, can you add multiple names?

I was wondering if putting two names or more in one shoe would weaken this, or if I should put one name in each shoe? Though I heard that you must put it in the right shoe?

My intention is for full dominance and for the individuals to know what it was like what they did to me

Tips, Tricks, & Ideas Music suggestions

Hi witches♥️ i’m looking for music for a witch’s ball (more up-beat music for dancing), witches fancy dinner (maybe middle agey vibe), and also for a witch’s broom making session.

I want it to have a witchcrafty vibe, sometimes dark, sometimes spiritual. All by female singers. Music that has an atmosphere that makes you feel the galaxy and the universe and also to empower you as a woman and as a witch. It can be without lyrics as well.

Thank you!

Discussion First Altar Advice

I just purchased a second-hand, vintage writing desk to use as my altar. I’m just beginning my practice so I’m wondering if there is any advice for setting it up?

It’s lockable so no one can snoop, and I’m wanting to sand it down and re-stain it at some point as it has water marks.

Hoping it helps with my practice having a dedicated space, not just on my coffee table.

Question Road Opener but roads... not open?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm a baby witch. This is my second Road Opener—the very first one I did was for my mom, and it went really well. She was going through a bad streak and hadn't sold anything in her business for months. She had no choice but to take a corporate office job with really cruel people since no other place was calling her back. So, I thought I could help. Long story short, her business got new clients, she was able to leave that corporate job, and she got four new job interviews! The most AMAZING part of all? She was assigned a $500 credit card out of nowhere (which is a huge deal in my country).

That was months ago, and she’s doing great now! She wanted me to do another one, so I said alright. But since I couldn't remember exactly how I did the first one 😅 I just did my research on herbs and intention work. Things went fine until I decided to watch some other Road Openers videos and saw people commenting on one pretty similar to mine. They were saying it wasn't done correctly because 'the corners of the cross weren't open'. That left me confused, because it kind of makes sense, but at the same time, it doesn't. And since the first one I did didn't have a cross, I don't know what to think.

Help, please! Do you think this will still work like the first one, or did I mess up by not opening the corners? Also, I read that the wax spreading everywhere *inside* the cross means it worked, but now I'm doubting that too...

Question Knife not flat.

Idk how else to title it, sorry. My brain isn't thinking clearly rn.

I swear I laid this knife down flat when I put it on the table. When I came back to put my dinner plate on the table, I noticed it was sitting instead of laying on its side. It felt off to me. Am I overthinking it?

I’m a baby witch, I just started learning last week. I don’t have a lot of things yet but the stuffed animal is my childhood toy and the book is my favorite book. I have a book that is all about beginning witchcraft so I’ve been following that. It says this requires 3 sentences to post so sorry for rambling

Spells A Little Self Love Magick 🖤

I wanted to share a little footage from a self love ritual I performed recently!
Self love and personal transformation have been important focuses in my practice lately. I really enjoy creating personal rituals and incorporating different correspondences, candles, and intentions into my workings.
I’d love to hear how other practitioners approach self love magick and what methods they prefer! 🖤

Tips, Tricks, & Ideas Your favorite unique, personal materia you’ve collected?

Post image
28 Upvotes

Whenever possible, I like to collect my own spell ingredients and tools, rather than buying them purpose-built off the shelf. Things like harvesting my own herbs, picking native plants, keeping an eye out for hagstones, thrifting jars, saving soil from a special garden, etc. This has led me to look at the world much more creatively — anything could be good for spellwork! As such, I have a lot of materia that I have a really personal connection to, and I feel I can do spells that are more bespoke and powerful.

What are your favorite materia that you have collected that are unique or special to you?

Most recently, I went on a trip that was significant to me and my ancestors. From that place, I brought back pine needles, tiny pine cones, birch bark for paper and petitions, antler lichen, fireplace ash from an important night, a beautiful red striped stone (ID pending), and a leaf with colors we don’t really get in my part of the world. I don’t know exactly what I’ll use most of them for, but now they’re ready when I need them.

Question Not yet a witch

Post image
8 Upvotes

S super new to this idea. It seems spells or rituals are done with items with good vibes. So — I got some cool candles, fine gravel from the back pathway and a small jar from resale. Hope to find small glass jars too. Don’t want to purchase new what I can ‘forage’. Am looking to create positivity and protection for myself. Any comments or advice?!
