Wild camping near pen-y-benglong
I've hiked by this area twice now and was wondering how would someone wild camp in these type of areas? I can't seem to find anywhere to park my car overnight, even Bethesda and further.
What do people do with their mode of transport into Snowdonia to do multi day wild camps?

Question Have you actually been lost and stranded in nature?
I don’t mean slightly loosing your sense of direction?
I mean having no phone signal, no sign of civilization, and legitimately wondering if your gonna either die alone in a month or become a perfect example of human survival fortitude but only have some rats and deer for friends, actually on that last part, probably would be nicer than some of your current friends.
I have not been properly lost, I have been pretty close, I went down some trails by a lake but a gas station offered good enough advice.
I also got lost in the forest next to the park, met a nice old persons family, but that was about it, was moreso inconvenient than scary.
Couldn’t find the beach house but didn’t do too bad, just went near a beach shop and waited.

What would be a good tent to live in this winter that can use a wood burning stove? Or is a wood burning stove the best way to go? Under $600 preferably.

Discussion Is Jet Boil’s Summit the best option for a ceramic camping skillet?
I have been using a stainless steel skillet on my MSR Wind Pro II that just really does not work well with eggs no matter how much I heat it up with oil before hand.
I kayak camp on rivers and so cast iron is too heavy and carbon steel too prone to rust. It seems I will be forced to use some form of nonstick, and it appears this model has the best reviews. Can you think of a better option for me or should I just pony up the 50 bucks?

Question Sleeping bag recommendations - Peak District late October
Hi,
Could anyone please recommend a sleeping bag suitable for the Peak District at the end of October - expected temperature 0-3 degrees.
For a female, 5’2’’ and 51kg so not sure if a women’s or children’s bag better?
Preferably under £80 if possible and as lightweight as possible as will be being carried for a few days.
Thank you.

Camping in United States
Is dispersed camping or wild camping legal on public land as a non U.S. resident (Canadian)? Planning to camp some days on BLM land. Will I have problems crossing the border if they ask about where I’m staying?

Gear Review Durston Xmid 2 stands up!
Solo wild camp on Slieve Doan in the Mourne Mountains (Co. Down) this week.
Walked in past Lough Shannagh, found a flattish patch between the tors near the top, and got the X-Mid 2 up for its first proper outing.
Beautiful evening — cooked a meal, watched the sun go down, felt very smug about the pitch. Then about an hour after I zipped up, the wind arrived. The morning forecast had said ~20mph gusts; the updated one I pulled up in the tent said 60. It hadn't been forecast at all when I set off.
By half midnight it was slamming the ridge and felt like a hurricane up there.
Here's the thing though — the tent itself never felt like it was going to fail.
Loud and flappy, absolutely (sldouble wall trekking-pole tent, what do you expect), but the structure held, poles stayed seated, pegs stayed in. No sag, no collapse.
I still packed up and came off the hill in the dark. Not because the Durston was losing — because the forecast was still climbing and I wasn't willing to gamble a brand-new tent (or a snapped trekking pole on an exposed top) on riding out weather that was still building. Descended carefully, couple of km back to the stile, out.
No regrets on the call. Genuinely more impressed with the tent after that than I was before it. Curious how others have found the X-Mid 2 in real wind — and whether you'd have stuck it out or bailed.
Full write-up + the video (you can hear how mental it got) here if anyone wants it:

Question Poland with a rooftop tent?
Hi everyone! Me and my friend are currently planning our trip for next summer. And currently its between Poland and Sweden. Poland definitely has the upper hand when it comes to our interests. We both think its very interesting to visit places with war history, and actual visible signs of it. an original overgrown trench fascinates us more then a re-dug trench thats been made to look like it used to.
anyway, were looking to go camping in nature. My friend would love to camp with his rooftop tent. Now, I am aware of the ***zanocuj w lesie*** places and about how it works. But, if i understood correct, thats with a tent, not a whole car haha. It would be the coolest to camp in scenic nature places. But my question is, is that possible with a rooftop tent? does anyone have recommendations or experiences? We'd prefer to not go to an actual camping but it is an option to consider.
Currently were looking at the region around Gdansk, the mazury region, the krakow region and maybe something mountainy. Now i've heard to avoid zakopane if i dont like super busy places. And that the Tatra's are not to be camped in. same for any coasts/dunes.
The reason Sweden is also in the run is bc there its quite easy to go camping with a car and a tent beside it. And its very empty, peaceful and easy to fish. How does fishing work in poland? just with a rod.
Hope to hear any tips/recomendations/experiences.

Advice on wildcamping Switzerland trip
Hi there, I'm an experienced wildcamper out of Australia. I am based in Milan for a while for a university exchange and am trying to plan a trip for a future weekend in Switzerland. I want to be based nearby to Lauterbrunnen, however am aware there are some strict laws re where I can and can't wildcamp. Any recommendations for amazing spots nearby to the swiss towns??? Thanks so much!

Best (free) dispersed camping in Virginia near Richmond
I'd really like to do some free dispersed or primitive car camping near Shenandoah or somewhere else that's cool near(ish) to the Richmond area at one of the national forests or something like that next week and I'm having a hard time finding a goldilocks area when researching online.
I will have my wife and 2 kids ranging from ages 6-10 as well as my 2 dogs. We are pretty new to living in the Richmond area and previously lived in and around the front range of Colorado for 15 years and are itching to get back in the woods and do it up like we used to in the Rockies. The more remote and less people the better! Ideally we are looking for somewhere free but I also know that things are a little different out east than they are when camping in the west so if spending money is a must I will happily do it.
