Inconsiderate Parking

Post image

Why do some people think it’s okay to take up two spaces? This happens regularly in Dunnes car park, NMK. If they’re not competent to park properly they shouldn’t be allowed to drive!

Probably because they don't want anyone's car door bumping onto theirs. It is a merc after all. 💁🏼‍♀️

(I don't condone this behaviour whatsoever, in case that wasn't clear)

I'd say this type of person consistently parks like this

The parking in that carpark could have a forum of it's own. From abuse of the disabled and mother and baby spots to this kind of stuf, it's daily arseh0le territory they are a special breed up that way

Hate that carpark.

Those carparking spaces are so damned small EVERYONE should park like this just to get in and out of their cars without smashing their neighbour car to bits.

They should pay for both spaces in situations like this 🤷‍♂️

With parent and baby spaces constantly full, sometimes as a parent with a baby this is the only safe option to your baby out of the car and into a buggy. No way of knowing if that's the case here but ive done it in the past when there's no other option.

I don't drive an expensive enough car to warrant this, nor do I condone it but I completely understand it.

A small but significant portion of the population are just inconsiderate and don't give a second thought to flinging their car doors open as if there's nothing parked next to them.

It literally doesn't even register with some people that doing this is a problem, I've witnessed it on more than one occasion.

I completely understand it. I don't park like this, but if it's an empty parking I would park my GTi in the furthest spot possible away from anyone. Repaired so far with success (pdr repair, meaning just removing the dent without paint fix) couple of dings from people don't minding other people's cars. Happened even with me in my car in front of a large Tesco, waiting for my wife, had a Merc parked near me, while I was dead centered in my spot so lots of space left and right, and the geezer owning the Merc comes out of Tesco, get to his car and opened his door in my driver door. Put down my window and said "how hard is it mate, not to that?" And he just shrugged saying "don't fuss, not a big deal". I mean wtf, perhaps for you it ain't but I paid good for my car and I love it so for me it's a big deal.

Because he doesn’t want dopes taking lumps of paint off his doors.

I just bought my first very expensive luxury car and twice I've been parked properly and while sitting inside the car beside me opens their doors and hits my car. Twice. I've had the car 3 months. Obviously don't condone this behaviour, it's not acceptable but can almost understand it. People might be inconsiderate while parking but far more people don't give a crap if they hit your car with their door

All very well but that car park is getting busier due to new housing developments and soon there won’t be enough spaces for people if folks like this take two spaces

fair enough.thats brutal. i don't blame you ,you work hard for your shit...you want to mind it

people have no manners. thats why i drive a banger

Sounds like you have done it or are considering doing it in the future

Eh no cause if I did it I'd be worried about someone keying my car, but if you dropped 50k + on a car and some inconsiderate people slammed their doors into your car you'd be considering it too. Also, have you seen people parking. They can't navigate into these tiny spots. Again, not excusing this, it's unacceptable to park across two spaces but I can totally see why. Those people who destroy your car with their doors aren't paying you for the damage are they

Those carparks habe cameras everywhere if.you notice your varnish damaged report to the police and insurance

I have a cheap car and it still wrecks my head when that happens. In my experience it’s been much older people who have smacked their door of my car. I’ve started parking farther away in a quiet area when I can

1

Yeah I tend to park far away but it's still annoying. In my previous car, again while I was parked two separate incidents involved cars reversing into me, one of them trying to drive off. So totally understand when someone drops a tonne of money on a nice car feel like they can't trust other drivers, cause you can't

Yep I've had the exact same. Don't condone this parking but when parking properly can so often result in people damaging your car without giving a shit I can understand why.

Still ignoring the rules for your own privilege. Shitty behavior. The owner of the car in the photo treats people like shit guaranteed.

Ooo I know this dude, he can't see from both of his eyes.

Some would even say he is legally blind or stupid.

Next time duct tape a white stick to the driver's door, they could use it

I once saw a bad parking job like this and started complaining to my partner. A middle-aged woman walked past and mentioned that it was her car, explaining that she has a disabled mother who needs extra room to get in and out. My partner burst out laughing, and I immediately shut up.

1

u/OldHugger 4d ago

There’s plenty slots for disabled and parents. This one has no excuse

It happens when people value their car.

The bogus space to the right is the problem.

its a 6 year old merc, like get over your self and park like a normal person. No one cares about your car.

1

u/Appropriate-Fact-642 3d ago

I saw someone do this in Nutgrove earlier..except it was a fucking MASSSSIVE ford pickup...like a big thick clareman whos running a site up in dublin...you know the type....it also stuck out into the actual road. .. heres the thing though..it was a disabled badge ..maybe your man was bringing his little mental disabled 42 y/o daughter or his little old head injury mother even ..to the shops ..and they needed the room to get theirs zimmer frames and whelchairs out and what not.

In that case I'm a wanker for shouting at them

1

u/504_Errors 3d ago

Intentional, not inconsiderate. He / she doesn't want anyone scrapping his Mercedes

1

u/OldHugger 3d ago

I’ve just seen a great spot for stashing trolleys. Just the right size.

1

u/CosmicCreation08 1d ago

My mum does this in the underground parking anywhere 😅 she says she too worried about someone scratching her car even tho it’s never happened. Idk why she only does it in the underground parking even when it’s normal parking she gets so angry when we come out the shop and someone has parked beside her

1

u/waggersIRL 5d ago

Park behind them. Leave a note saying I’m in the spot beside you.
