making OUR first cozy game where you sail your teahouse boat down the river

We're a small indie team and we've wanted to make something cosy for a while now after releasing our first game (dark fantasy souls-like). This is what we've been working on for months now.

It's a cosy management sim where you sail down the river on a teahouse boat through a Ghibli-inspired world. You can explore little river town, forage real herbs, and brew tea for whoever you meet along the way.

We wanted to make it a bit more interesting too so every town has its own little drama unfolding and you get pulled right into it!

First two image are concept art we did like a month ago and we still look at it whenever we're stressed lol. The last two are how it actually looks in engine now.

Honestly, making something this soft, warm, and cozy has been such a nice change for the team. but since it's still our first, we wanted your opinion.

Would you guys dock your boat here for a while? Is the world worth spending hours in? Does it make you happy?

If anyone's interested in playtesting, you can check out this link: https://preview.mailerlite.io/forms/2406379/199858136187667656/share

Atom Pals cozy pet game, free in the browser

Game Title: Atom Pals

Playable Link: https://mdj1208.itch.io/atom-pals

Platform: Browser (phone or desktop)

Description: Atom Pals is a cozy virtual pet game that runs in your browser. You hatch a little pet, name it, and raise it. Feed it, pet it, play catch with it, and find the one spot it likes being tickled. It grows up through four stages, and when it's ready it curls into a cocoon and hatches into its next form right in front of you.

You can race it on land, in the water and in the sky, play a couple of mini-games for coins, and spend them in the shop on food, toys and outfits. Every pet has its own colour and personality.

The garden keeps going while you're away, so when you come back your pet has been off doing its own thing. There's a cozy mode where nothing bad can happen, and a devoted mode with real stakes if you want them.

Free to Play Status: [x] Free to play

Involvement: Solo project. I came up with the game and made every design decision, and built it using AI coding tools since I don't have a coding background.

Let me know what you guys think

We're making a cute Stardew Valley-style game where you play as a cat with a secret double life

By day, you’re Grandma’s little helper. You spend your time planting crops with your paws, catching fish, begging for treats, and snoozing in the sun.

But when Grandma goes to sleep, your real job begins. You sneak underground into a secret cat city to meet new furry friends and dive into rat burrows to protect her farm. The catch? You have to keep the house safe and curl back up in your bed before morning, so Grandma thinks you were just sleeping the whole time!

We’ve just opened playtest sign-ups on Steam. If you love games about good pets taking care of their humans, we’d absolutely love your help testing it out!

Made a cozy adventure puzzle game I always wanted. Similar to Pikmin, but fantasy

A little puzzle-adventure in Unity, slightly inspired by The Little Prince and creature collection games.

One of the main mechanics is collecting tiny creatures called Lumis, which can transform into different things to help you explore the world.

One of the challenges has been designing puzzles around these abilities while keeping the game accessible and more importantly, low stress. We're also trying to tell the story without relying on dialogue, so the player needs to understand a lot through animations and environmental cues.

If this looks like your kind of game, you can wishlist A Burning Star on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4120640/A_Burning_Star/

Here's some footage of what we've built so far.

I made a quiet beachcombing game for someone who loves the beach. They don't play it. Is it for anyone?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Tidewalker started as a gift for someone who spends their beach walks looking down for shells. They were kind about it, and it turns out they prefer the real thing, which is fair.

So I'm asking honestly: is there anyone this is for, or are some things better left as things you just go and do?

It's a slow walk along a shore that never ends. Everyone walks the same beach, and every find exists once: keep it, and it's gone for everyone else. New ones wash in on the real-world tide, twice a day. No rush: look down, pick something up, turn it over, keep it or leave it for someone else.

Free beta on iPhone: https://testflight.apple.com/join/X3Yr5UFF

I'd love to hear what you think, including "this doesn't need to be a game".

I made a game about saving baby sea turtles, and part of the proceeds will go to help real sea turtles! Free demo out now

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is Hatchling Scramble. It’s a cute, easy-to-pick-up game where you can’t control the baby sea turtles themselves, but instead your goal is to clear hazards to help them make it to the ocean. I've also partnered with the Sea Turtle Conservancy to donate 20% of net proceeds from my game directly to them, so supporting the game is going to help real-life sea turtles too, which I'm very excited about!

The free demo is on Steam now (with an update coming before Next Fest starts next week), and I’m also bringing it to iOS since I think it makes a great mobile game, too.

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear what you think!

We updated our cozy demo inspired by "Art of Balance"! New gameplay mechanics and QoL overall 🧡

Hi all!

I'm Tom, one of the 2 developpers working on Knick Knack Stack. We just released a big gameplay update and QoL overall to our public Steam demo!

Knick Knack Stack is a physics-based puzzle game inspired by Art of Balance, mixed with visual novel elements. You travel the world, goof around with the physics, build tiny piles of objects and take cute memory pictures of your creations! It's meant to be relaxing, funny and goofy 😊

We gathered feedback from our 1st demo and agreed that the puzzles lacked in variety. That's why we decided to add new mechanics in every main levels. These mechanics are unique to their level and change the way you interact with it. Solve the mysteries of the magic glyphs in the Valley of the Kings, play with the crocodile at Dakhla oasis and dig new objects from the ground in the Sahara desert!

We're also planning a 2nd update in the future, entirely focused on narration. This update will bring a revised script with a better introduction to characters, and overalls to most of the dialogues in the game with shorter dialogues, better pacing, more interactions between characters, new pictures and less annoying conversation subjects. This will take a bit of time to make though, as we need to write everything in French, and then pass it to our translator to get the English version.

Feel free to ask anything, about the game or about us, I'll gladly answer your questions!

What wholesome game made your day a little better? 🌱💛

There’s something truly special about games that leave you feeling happier after playing them. Whether it’s exploring a beautiful world, meeting lovable characters, helping someone in need, or discovering little moments of kindness, wholesome games have a unique way of making an ordinary day feel a little brighter. 💚

I love how some games remind us that we don’t always need intense action or dramatic storylines to have a meaningful experience. Sometimes, the simplest moments are the ones that stay with us the longest.

I’m curious to know which wholesome games have made the biggest impact on you. Is there a particular game that always puts you in a good mood, or a character or moment that made you smile more than you expected? If you could recommend one wholesome game to someone having a difficult week, which one would it be and why?

I’d love to discover some new favourites through your recommendations, and hopefully, this discussion can help someone find a little comfort, happiness, or inspiration through gaming. Let’s share some positivity and celebrate the games that make us feel good! 🌸🎮

my favorite regular at my little grill stall game is a stray cat who wants the burnt ones

posted the stall here yesterday, this is the part I like most. if you burn a skewer it isn't wasted, the grey stray who hangs around the stall wants exactly those. the auntie always wants two glazed and sometimes leaves you a mandarin, the taxi driver taps the counter twice when you get it right, and next time they come you already know their usual.

nobody storms off angry either, someone you miss just says they'll come back tomorrow. free, no ads, works offline, android for now.

Working on Hexplorando, a relaxing hex-tile puzzle game where you rebuild real places all around the world! Hope you'll like our first trailer!

Hey! We've been working on Hexplorando since last year, and just revealed our new trailer.

So of course, the style and gameplay are quite similar to Dorfromantik, but the main difference is that you rebuild actual real-world locations through 40+ puzzles all around the world. Then you unlock iconic international landmarks, and you can use them in your own creations in Sandbox Mode.

The Nintendo eShop page will be available soon, but feel free to wishlist the game on Steam if you'd like to support our project!

I've been making a cozy fantasy game about bringing a forgotten world back to life 🌱

Glowing Life Trailer

Hi everyone! I'm a solo indie dev working on Glowing Life, a cozy fantasy adventure about bringing a forgotten world back to life.

You play as a little glowing being exploring quiet, lifeless places. Wherever you go, grass grows, flowers bloom and animals slowly return. 🦊🌱

You can discover different worlds, help lost animals find their way home and build a little sanctuary where your animal friends can settle in.

I'm aiming for a peaceful, magical atmosphere where you can explore at your own pace.

I've just been working on the trailer and would love to share a little glimpse of the game!

If this sounds like your kind of cozy adventure, you can try the demo here:

Sensonym: Learn languages through cozy stories that respond to your movements and actions

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I built Sensonym, an app where you learn vocabulary through stories and physically act out parts of what’s happening.

The video is from a cozy fantasy called A Handful of Sky. You end up in a field above the last bus stop, where the stars come down when you lie still.

In the story, you take actions like laying your phone flat to lie down, or blowing gently toward the microphone to move the stars. Along the way, you learn words like tumbarse (lie down) and soplar (blow).

Here I'm reading in English and learning Spanish. There are ten languages to choose from, and you can also read the whole story in the language you're learning.

There's also The Dawn Loaf, a cozy mystery about fresh bread appearing outside a locked bakery every morning. In that one, you do actions like shaking your phone to sprinkle salt while baking, wiping your screen to clear dust from the counter, etc.

Sensonym is available on iPhone and Android.

App Store · Google Play

If you try the app, I would be very curious to hear your experience. Do the physical actions make you feel more involved in the story?

Sorty is a cozy isometric sorting game. The toy shop is a mess — pick up the toys, put them on the right shelves and throw the loose ones into the bins. There is no timer pressure and no ads: just tidy up at your own pace.

This is my first game on Itch, I will try and update with new levels and objects along the way!
