Dad's bad luck leading into car engine getting lit up at the autogarage

Pretty awful week for my dad. First he broke his raybans, then the transmission started leaking, then finally the car getting lit up after brake cleaner was used for some reason while the car was still hot after it got fixed up.

In fact, I did not hear anything discernible. By “lit up”, does he mean that it caught fire?

It looks like it’s been covered in some sort of yellow powder, but I don’t see anything melted. Though the filming is so jerky that it’s hard to tell.
