The more i see wartales mentioned the more intrigued I get but I can't find anything on a playstation release which just seems bizarre when it's on switch and Xbox.

The capture button never shows up when I'm trying to capture Purifiers (including Lene the Purifier). However the button showed up when I was trying to capture the Brigadier and Mace-bearer. Brigadier and Mace-bearer are still captuerable.

Looking at their equipment details, it seems like they don't have a slot for weapon/right-hand. So I would guess they're special NPCs and not actually captureable. Unless someone here has tried and successfully captured them?

Hello everyone, I have a serious dilemma here. I recently decided to try Wartales again, vaguely remembering that it had frustrated me on release but having seen gameplay since that had piqued my interest again. Well, imaging my shock when, during the initial tutorial fight, I am incapable of selecting any kind of action. The only thing I can do is end my turn.

Now, I am aware that I should most certainly be capable of using a move command and then attack the bandit in front of me, but for one reason or another, no other action can be accessed. Any and all insight into this matter would be appreciated, I want to play this game and get sucked into the world. Poorly optimized controls leaving it untenable would be a sour realization.

I wanted to recruit all the leader units into my group using the latest bug, but the lair capture missions I’ve gotten have only been for the Brotherhood (Hired Goon), Guard (Captain), Legion (Commander), Inquisition (Paladin), Tracker (Trapper), Kings knight (Gallant Knight), and Deserters (Corporal).
I’ve never gotten a Bandit faction mission, even though I really want the Ringleader and its passive. Has anyone actually gotten a Bandit faction lair capture mission?

Been thinking about coming back to the game. Had a lot of fun the last time I've played, which also was almost 2 years ago. However I've seen some hate/negative reviews about the game, specifically the dlc's, so I'm just wandering what that's about.
I currently own the first 3 dlc's and stopped playing shortly before "The Skelmar Invasion" came out. Just wandering if any of the dlc's since then are worth it.

On that regard, would be better to start a new campaign or continue my old one?

For the 2nd straight game, I have been caught by the stupid conga line of plagued zombies, 1st time they came up to the trackers camp on the hill which I never seen before. I wasn't really pleased with how the game was going so I thought whatever and started over. Fast forward to a new game and got caught by these crazy bastards again. This time they broke ranks and started chasing me all over the map and finally caught me at Nerpurn Mine. This has to be new. There was so many different groups that they covered the road, and smaller packs started to chase me. This has to be an update cause in the past they pretty much just stuck to their back-to-back formation marching in order.

Does that still work?
After some updates I can't play the same save games and that used to work like a charm before.

I can't carry on my session on my Xbox if I start it on PC and vice-versa.
I truly miss doin' that.

Obsessed would be an understatement. Anyways..I purchased only the tavern DLC which is fine and dandy.

My question is - what’s with all the DLCs? Why not bake some of this into the game? Feels weirdly like a money grab.

I’m on Xbox if that makes a difference - are they really worth it?

My biggest question:
Does the ultimate bundle go on sale? I love this game but I don’t love it enough to drop 130 dollars on stuff that arguably could’ve been included in the game.

I was running through the Rigel content and ran into the quest with Sisbert, combat started and he turned into a werewolf. Combat ended and he transformed again. Wartales is wild.

If you're playing Region-Locked mode, you may notice that there's a noticeable difficulty spike between Arthes/Vertruse (level 5-8) and Ludern (level 11-13).

You are forced to either grind, or go through Lombelle/Isandrin (Fires in the Capital DLC) to progress.

This mod fixes that.

It rebalances Ludren back to the 8-11 level range. So you can progress smoothly through the vanilla game without having to play the DLCs.

I'm doing the Skelmar content and took a job from the emissary in the tavern to intercept a prisoner convoy coming to the Brotherhood training grounds POI and to "Intercept them and liberate at least 5 prisoners"

I'm apparently not intelligent enough to figure out what I'm supposed to do? I've intercepted multiple convoys, they never have more than 4 prisoners in them which I can usually get to run away safely. Nothing seems to be updating.... I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong here.

I’m running two rangers in an Extreme/extreme playthrough. I’m in Arthes and have crafted a load of ghost throwing knives. I have them equipped on both rangers (Cutthroats), but one of them doesn’t have the ability present for a throwing weapon. It’s not grayed out like it’s already been used, it’s just not there at all.

Is this a bug? Or part of a system and I’m missing something?

Am I doing something wrong. All the quests I've gotten from The Lair have wanted me to capture specific characters. Ok I know what I need to do that. But all the characters it wants me to capture have the leader trait so it doesn't let. Am I missing something or is it broken.

So on going to create a save, name the tavern, or whenever I need to type something, the digital keyboard never comes up. So I can’t create a manual save slot or do the tavern stuff.

Had anyone else had this issue? Did you find a fix?

Twice now I have had crossbow mercs just forget how to preform the "Reload!" action. Like the skill dissapears from their toolbar and the character inspect window. Has this happened to anyone else? I am on game pass in case that matters.

Sometimes when a prisoner escapes and I find them and recapture them with chains, they just completely disappear. They don't rejoin my party or appear on the map or appear anywhere! They're just gone forever :(
