Hey everyone!

After working on the WWE ’13 recompile, I’ve now started working on WWE 2K14, and we’ve reached the point where the game is stable for PC.

There’s still a lot of work ahead especially around the native renderer, performance, and compatibility with other systems like Android but I wanted to share the progress because this is a pretty big milestone.

I made a video going over where the project currently stands:

The project is also completely public on GitHub if anyone wants to follow the development, look through the code, report issues, or contribute:

GitHub:
https://github.com/PromethenDev/wwe2k14-recomp

My long-term goal is to get WWE 2K14 running properly and eventually explore things like better performance, higher resolutions, modding possibilities, and more.

What are some of your fondest memories of this game?

Do you still play it?

What was the best thing about it?

Would you like to see 2K add anything from this game into future games?

Your takes on the roster? Who should’ve been included and who were your go to wrestlers?

What versions did you own? 🫡

I recently downloaded WWE 2K26 as I got it with PlayStation Plus and all I have to say is that is one of the least fun wrestling games I have EVER played. I have never seen a wrestling game where the computer reverses over 90% of the moves done. My high was 57 reverses in a row.

I just wanted to say that if you paid a singular dollar for this game, you got ASS RAPED and paid for that experience. What a pile of crap!

Can anyone explain to me what's with the ENDLESS reversals? Do you find this fun? Does this mimic what you see when watching wrestling today?

Rumble Roses XX Recomp – 4K Support, DLC Support, Graphics Options & More

I’ve been working on a recompilation project for Rumble Roses XX, and I’m finally releasing it!

The project is based on the existing Rexglue repository, with a number of additional features and improvements I’ve been working on.

Features include:

• 4K support and additional resolutions (have beefy hardware for 4K, I had no issue on my 4090 while testers had issues on 3060 and 4060 at 4K)
• Toggle blur and bloom effects
• Can apply your DLC files
• All alter egos unlocked, with a toggle
• Infinite money toggle
• Additional improvements and options
• F4 to bring up the options menu or START + SELECT on controller

Release:

The repository includes the executable and instructions for getting started. Bring your own ISO and DLC.

I’m also working on a separate mod pack that adds 30 WWE Divas from the Smackdown series with move-sets, entrances, themes, titantrons and 65 WWE arenas! The alpha version of that will be available tomorrow on my Patreon for FREE. Along with future updates which will all be FREE.

Please let me know if you have any issues I only had a small group of people test.

If you like my work consider supporting me so I can do more!

On console CC, nobody has created 08-09 era jeff hardy with proper hairstyles as a superstar variant. Everybody is adding pg era jeff hady to harsy ‘00 slot. So i will fix this problem with it.

This variant will be reuploadable. So creators are free to use it. Right now, i made his armageddon 2008 hair dye. Which was from one of the classic jeff hardy photos. Here is my plan;

Slot 1; Svr 2008/09
Slot 2; Armageddon 08 (right here on the picture
Slot 3; Svr 2010 hair
Slot 4; Yellow/black hair

Ospreay & Andrade vs DCF

Tier 1:

• Two Generations One Ring: The official tagline for the game. One of the big selling points was the roster split between Superstars and Legends, allowing people to create dream matches.
• Path of Champions: A 10-Match Gauntlet mode where it leads up to you fighting for the championship. There are 3 you can choose:
  • Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam
  • Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania
  • D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) for the Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania
• The Arenas: There are a total of 6 arenas in the game. Raw, Smackdown, All Stars Arena, SummerSlam, WrestleMania and the Retro Smackdown based on the 2000s one with the Giant Fist.
• The 4 Classes: Every wrestler has one of four classes. Brawler, High Flyer, Grappler and The Giant.
• Fantasy Warfare: Another game mode where it features 15 dream matches in WWE that pits the Superstars against the Legends. Getting through Fantasy Warfare is where you can unlock the 10 wrestlers on the roster. Technically you don't have to complete all the matches as you only need to complete 7 matches to unlock all the wrestlers. 3 matches you have to do twice to unlock both wrestlers from the match:
  • Mr Perfect vs The Miz
  • Sgt. Slaughter vs Jack Swagger
  • Jimmy Snuka vs Kane
• Match Types: There are total of 8 distinct matches in the game:
  • 1-on-1
  • Triple Threat
  • Fatal 4-way
  • Tornado Tag Team
  • Steel Cage
  • Elimination
  • Extreme Rules
  • Handicap Match
• Create-A-Wrestler: A mode that allowed you to create a wrestler. Very limited compared to the mainline games but yeah.
• The Commentators: Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler are the official commentators of WWE All Stars.
• Alt Costumes: All 30 Wrestlers in the Base Roster have 1 alternate attire. Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, and Randy Savage are the only ones to have a 2nd alt attire.
• Making the total alt attires to be 35. This is usually unlocked through beating any of the Path of Champions.
• The Announcer: Howard Finkel is the announcer for WWE All Stars.

Tier 2:

• The DLCs: WWE All Stars had a total of 5 DLC Packs which added 13 Wrestlers in the game. The DLCs packs were:
  • The Million Dollar Pack: "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Ted DiBiase Jr.
  • The American Dream Pack: Dusty Rhodes and Cody Rhodes
  • Honky Tonk Man (Free)
  • R-Truth (Free)
  • The All-Time Greats Pack: Road Warrior Hawk and Animal, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Chris Jericho
  • The Southern Charisma Pack: Big Boss Man, Michael "PS" Hayes, and Mark Henry

• This made the overall roster total from 30 to 43.

• CM Punk's Inaccurate Model: CM Punk's model in the game was based on his 2010 look but the CM Punk in 2011 had a much different look specifically his hair from being long to being short and his tattoos.

• PS2/PSP/Wii Downgrade: The PlayStation 2, PSP and Wii versions were all scaled-down from their PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. This cause they were developed by Subdued Software. This led to the game being visually and sound-wise worse then the other versions.

• Cheat Codes: There are 4 Cheat Codes in the game that required a button combinations on the menu:

  • Unlock Everything
  • Randy Savage & John Morrison Alternative Attire
  • Steve Austin & CM Punk Alternative Attire
  • Jake Roberts & Randy Orton Alternative Attire

NOTE: This was not a permanent thing meaning you had to do this every time you booted up the game and after the updates/patches they no longer worked.

• The Nintendo 3DS version: The 3DS version was unique as not only did came with all the DLC wrestlers by default but featured two modes exclusive to the 3DS, Score Scramble and Gauntlet.
• THQ San Diego: THQ San Diego was a company that had a history as being a subsidiary for multiple companies, evolving from arcade pioneer Cinematronics and the Leland Corporation in the 1980s before being absorbed by Tradewest, WMS Industries, and Midway Games. Following Midway's financial collapse, THQ bought the studio for $200,000 in 2009, rebranding it to develop WWE All Stars before shutting it down entirely in 2012.
• Demo Version: A week before the launch of the game, a demo version was available to play for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The demo only featured a playable 1-on-1 match between Rey Mysterio and Ultimate Warrior in the All Stars Arena.

Tier 3:

• Macho Man's Last WWE Promo: On January 19, 2011 Macho Man made his first promo in the WWE for the first time in decades promoting WWE All Stars. 4 months after the promotion Macho Man tragically died in a Florida car crash due to a severe heart disease.
• Mattel Action Figures: Mattel released 3 WWE 2-Pack action figures to tie in with the game. There was:
  • Randy Savage & John Morrison
  • Steve Austin & CM Punk
  • Jake Roberts & Randy Orton

Each set came with cheat codes to unlock their respective alt attires as mentioned earlier.

• WWE Raw: All Star Night: This was a special themed episode of Raw which aired on June 13, 2011. Where Steve Austin was the special host, featured both Raw and Smackdown stars and had the segment where CM Punk and Austin had their tense meeting. This was obviously named as a tie-in with the game.
• Mad Catz BrawlPads and BrawlSticks: One of the weirder aspects of WWE All Stars was their partnership with Mad Catz. Mad Catz is a third-party company that makes products and accessories for consoles and PCs. One of these was the WWE All Stars BrawlPads and BrawlSticks controllers. Brawlpads featured a 6-button layout, a large D-Pad and was wireless, while BrawlSticks was a wired arcade layout with an 8-button layout and an arcade stick. Brawlpad had two versions of the controller, one with John Cena and Hulk Hogan while the other was The Rock and Triple H. The BrawlStick only had The Rock and Triple H one.
• Santino Marella: Despite not being in the game, Santino does appear in a trailer for All Stars where he promotes the Create-A-Wrestler mode. Santino narrates throughout the trailer and showcases the mode and some gameplay.

Tier 4:

• TNA Impact!: TNA Impact! was a game based on the promotion which was developed by MidWay Studios Los Angeles and published by Midway Games in September of 2008. Despite selling 1.5 Million units, it had mixed reviews from most critics. The game was planned for a sequel, until later Midway Games filed for bankruptcy and the plan was cancelled. When Midway San Diego was sold to THQ and renamed to THQ San Diego, most of the team's employees were also intact with the subsidiary and thus used TNA Impact! as the building block for WWE All Stars.
• Speedruns: On the official Speedrun.com, there are actual speed runs for WWE All Stars. While not very popular or active, There are Leaderboards for Fantasy Warfare and Path of Champions runs. Both modes are broken into 3 console categories (9 for the Path of Champions):
  • PS2/Wii
  • PS3/360
  • PSP/3DS
• Spike Video Game Awards: WWE All Stars was nominated in 2011 for Best Fighting Game at the Spike Video Game Awards, however they lost to Mortal Kombat 9. The other nominees were The King of Fighters XIII and Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
• WWE 2K Battlegrouds: WWE 2K Battlegrounds was a game from the WWE 2K Series developed by Saber Interactive Spain and published by 2K on September 18, 2020. This was a spin-off to the WWE 2K series and part of 2K's arcade style series Playground Sports which featured NBA Playgrounds 1 and 2. This game was often compared to All Stars for how it focused less on the simulation-style gameplay that the mainline series had with more over-the-top gameplay and cartoonish vibes. This was made after WWE 2K21 was cancelled due to the great failure that was 2K20. This game had mixed receptions as well mostly criticism from the microtransaction feature in the game.

Tier 5:

• WWE Brawl: WWE Brawl was a cancelled spin-off game by THQ and was meant for the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. WWE registered the name back in 2010 and announced the game before WrestleMania XXVII. This was originally scheduled for 2012 but the game was delayed indefinitely due to THQ wanting to focus on WWE '13. On January 22nd, THQ confirmed that the game was canceled due to bankruptcy. Videos and screenshots showed footage of the game where wrestlers had super powers and took place in unique environments as well. This meant that the last WWE spin-off before 2K Battlegrounds was WWE All Stars. However there is a playable prototype for the 3DS and people can now play.
• The Cancelled Sequel: In an article from TheSmackdownHotel.com by Andy back in 2015, YouTuber ItsMyYard had a conversation with a developer from the defunct THQ San Diego studio about a cancelled sequel to WWE All Stars. According to the developer he said quote:

"As for All Stars 2, I can tell you that we wanted to do many more types of special attacks that work in the same spirit as the RKO. They would have different properties associated with them and could be used in many different ways and situations. I would have made huge changes to the juggle system to allow for more 'creative' combos with aerial attacks. I also wanted to have all the characters be very different and not follow the classes as much.

They would have had MANY more unique attacks and combos. There were also other bounce mechanics we played around with, that were really cool. There would have been unique special Team Moves and setups for guys that play as a team. I would have had unique navigation animations and navigation properties for each character. I would have also pushed to give them their gimmicks and reflect the essence of the character and obviously factor into combat."

• Ladders and Tables match: In the same article, the developer also mentioned the Cut Content of the game including Ladders and Tables match modes as well as fighting backstage, he says quote:

"We needed more modes. We had Ladders and Tables match modes working before we shipped WWE All Stars, but some people were too afraid they would take too much time to fix, so they got cut.

The tables match was particularly fun. It was a fast paced match mode where you had to throw the opponent through as many tables as possible to win, but we changed some of the rules. I would have experimented with different weapons you could throw, with different velocity trajectories and speeds to mix things up. I would have overhauled the way weapons worked and give them distinct combat properties.

Also, we always wanted to take the fight backstage since there is so much you can do there gameplay-wise. There were a lot of other ideas and fixes as well, but these are the ones I can think of off at the top of my head."

• WrestleMania 23 Arena: Despite an original design for WrestleMania, the game was originally to have the WrestleMania 23 arena. This was first show in E3 during June 2010 where they showcased The Rock and John Cena wrestling in the arena, however the game was removed completely nearing the release.
• Leftover .tga Files): There were leftover .tga files found in the PS2 version which all appeared to be light textures. These had a file date of 1/25/2011.

Let me know if there is any other thing I might have missed as well!

Promotion names (NJPW, AEW, CMLL,...) and names of Wrestlers outside the WWE (Omega) now automatically get censored. Is this new or just a bug. If it's the latter, how do I fix that?

decided to make a different CAW with a different face texture for mid 2000's RVD. Here's a peek at him in his "Rising Sun" and "Confetti" singlets. Was really difficult making that ponytail work at first but after some morphing, adding textures around it, I think it came out nice. lmk what you guys think.

I had posted this on X/Twitter but wanted to post it here too and get a feel what you guys think or what I could add for it. So, for 27 my idea was limb damage selling similar to older games where targeting the limbs like head, arms or legs affect wresters and how matches play out. Wrestlers should hold their damaged limb in pain when in red while walking or running. If the arms are red, it'll weaken strikes and will struggle to pick up said opponent for certain moves like a suplex or powerbomb. If the legs are red, it'll slows down movements, and you wouldn't be able to run, or said leg would give out trying to walk, climb, or do certain moves too. Let me know if you guys want to see more ideas, I have or what else should be added.

Saturday Night’s Main Event closes with Bron Breakker defending the World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles. The match starts slowly as Breakker looks to wear Styles down with holds, using his power to keep the Phenomenal One grounded. Eventually, a massive Spinebuster from Breakker brings the action to life. Styles fires back with an Inverted DDT before stunning the champion with a Styles Clash for a two count! One German Suplex and a Gut Check from Breakker later, and the champion scores a near fall of his own. With the match entering deep waters, AJ tries to rally, unloading with the Phenomenal Blitz in an attempt to put Breakker away, but it’s to no avail.

Breakker uses his opening and nails a Spear before going for the kill with the Steiner Recliner! Styles has no choice but to tap out, and Breakker retains the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the champion’s celebration is cut short as Jacob Fatu’s music hits! Fatu makes his way to the ring and comes face to face with Breakker. Fatu makes his intentions crystal clear, he’s coming for the World Heavyweight Championship. The show goes off the air with Breakker holding the title high as Fatu stands across from him, never taking his eyes off the gold.

Been playing with a CAW universe and I'm having an issue where if a wrestler has an entrance with a manager, the entrance defaults to generic as soon as they're a champion, is there any way around this?

I now just need to get the island stuff, I wasnt going to bother but I had a bit time to kill so thought I would attempt... the GM Trophies were the most boring grind worthy the rest were fine

Has anyone else had this problem where you just get stuck in an infinite loading screen when you try to save? I’ve got a feeling it’s tied to me trying to use metal barricades but can’t be sure, anyone got this problem? Or even better, a fix?

EDIT: I’ve narrowed it down to it being the ramp fence being changed to steel barricades

EDIT 2: Seems to be a problem with the warehouse venue or something because changing the ramp fence at all gives me this issue
