EDIT: The AMA is live! Ask your questions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1x5uwif/im_nick_walton_ceo_creator_of_ai_dungeon_and/

Nick, the creator of AI Dungeon and Voyage, is doing an AMA over on r/IAmA tomorrow, and we'd love for you to come ask him anything about AI roleplay and games:

• What actually makes them fun

• Why they break: characters forgetting who they are, stories losing the thread, and AI that never pushes back

• What AI Dungeon taught us that we're putting into Voyage

When: Wednesday, October 14, 10am PT / 1pm ET

Where: r/IAmA

The thread goes up tomorrow morning, and we'll add the direct link to the top of this post as soon as it's live. Bring your best questions!

Experiments/Feedback The fight you said you remember most: won by being clever (Survey)

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

The October survey is out, and you'll find it in Voyage. Before that, here's what you told us about the fights that stayed with you.

  • The fight you remember most was won by being clever. When 242 of you described a fight that stayed with you, the biggest group of good moments were wins that came from thinking, not hitting. And when a fight starts, 31% of you hope for exactly that: a chance to be clever.
  • Those wins turned on a detail the world had put there. Something in the place, like a fountain frozen into an ice wall or a long table kicked over for cover. Or something in the foe, like weak points or a golem's external power source.
  • Both kinds of detail have a field, even in a world you keep to yourself. What's in a place goes in its Basic Info. What a foe hides goes in its Hidden Info, the part a player only finds out through play.

"I used fireball on a cliff and caused an avalanche and the AI knew I was going for a Mulan moment"

"i managed to beat a boss by being polite"

"This was good because the fountain had been established in the environment"

And this month, we're getting a little wild. Imagine Voyage with no limits. Would you play it as a 2D world you walk around, like Stardew Valley? A 3D world you move through? One giant MMO world shared with tons of other players? Your story turned into a comic? Come tell us what you'd want Voyage to become, and don't hold back: the crazier the better.

We're also asking about the pace of your story, when it drags and when it rushes, how you found Voyage, and what makes you take a break. It's all waiting for you in Voyage.

See you next month!

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 14th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Creators can hide locations from normal discovery and reveal them during play using triggers. The party's current location always remains visible. - Creators can use Import map from the Map toolbar or press I to split an image across selected map cells. The tool supports framing, grid positioning, inline region names, and upload retries while keeping the map visible. - Creators can set a default Success Bonus for each NPC type, including AI-created NPCs. An individual NPC's bonus takes precedence over the default. - Creators can use Story Start conditions to give different starts their own resources, quests, or other setup after the opening narration. - Outside public rooms, you can restore one of up to four previous portraits for your own character or an NPC at no Usage cost. - Players can reply to comments on mod pages, with a clear indication of who they are replying to and an option to cancel.

Improvements - Creator Studio opens, joins, edits, and saves large worlds faster. Failed cover checks now preserve the previous cover and show a warning instead of blocking saves. - Creators can filter State Editor sections by name on desktop and mobile without losing unsaved edits or changing the selected section. - Creators with Task Editor access can select tasks from a toolbar menu grouped by phase, with task names and turn numbers shown. Searching no longer changes the open task or discards its draft. - Small PNG, JPEG, and WebP images can now be attached to Studio chat as references, with a warning that they may look blurry instead of an upload error. When assigned to a game object, Studio creates a proportionally enlarged copy and leaves the original unchanged. - Creators can now request up to 200 custom music uploads per account each day, increased from 20. - New blank worlds start with nine editable social triggers that encourage NPCs to greet each other, share activities, celebrate, offer support, and more. Existing worlds keep their current triggers. - NPC intents now focus on real combat instead of ordinary conversations, travel, healing, buffs, threats, or consensual sparring. Creators can edit combat tactics through aiInstructions.generateNPCIntents.combat_tactics in the world editor. - Brief notifications for streak extensions, as well as for reaching 10 or 25 gameplay actions, have returned. - Players whose usernames are reset by a moderator receive a generated replacement name and an email with the new name and reason. They can still choose another valid name in profile settings.

Bug Fixes - Typing in Studio JSON editors is now smoother and more responsive, especially in Firefox and large worlds. Validation and unsaved-change indicators update shortly after typing pauses. - Studio maps now start and return to Pan mode with nothing selected, reducing accidental movement while navigating, especially on touchscreens. Dragging objects and selecting an area now require Select mode. - Equipment slots in Studio Item Settings now correctly show their slot, category, and quantity values. Changing a category no longer removes the other slot details. - Creators can rename World Lore entries directly in Studio's form editor without losing the lore text. Blank or duplicate names show an error instead of overwriting another entry. - Deleting the default Story Start from its open form makes the first remaining start the default, matching deletion from the collection. Deletion waits until any pending reorder finishes saving. - Studio and creator tools now show a clear version conflict instead of overwriting a world or draft last edited in a newer Voyage version. - Conflicting world or mod publishes ask creators to publish again instead of saving mismatched versions or mod lists. If search indexing fails after publication succeeds, creators see a warning rather than a failed-publication message. - Creators can start games from drafts when only disposable generated data is invalid. Authored errors still prevent launch, and existing adventures retain their saved progress. - Fixed issues that prevented older worlds and saved adventures from loading because of outdated quest data. - Eligible Creator API accounts can now upload item artwork with ITEM_IMAGE and save the approved URL in initialGameState.itemTypes[itemKey].imageUrl. Item artwork must be at least 600 x 600 pixels, and the documentation now recommends 1000 x 1000 for both item artwork and region maps. - Larger valid world trailers now process more reliably within the existing 250 MB and five-minute limits. Simultaneous uploads can wait for capacity, and the existing trailer remains visible until its replacement is ready. - Published world and mod share previews now use the published title, description, and cover instead of private or unlisted draft details. Missing or invalid covers also no longer expose an older stored image. - Fixed page metadata used by search engines and shared-link previews. - Turn tips now follow the creator's existing settings for whether tips are enabled, when they appear, and how often they repeat. Retries are handled correctly, and skipped turns do not consume a tip. - Rolls without a matching skill are now labeled "Action check" instead of "None" on desktop and mobile. - AI responses that repeat the same target name no longer apply damage, buffs, defense, or subdue effects to that character multiple times. - Characters healed after taking combat damage in the same turn are no longer described or displayed as downed, near death, or dead. - Newly encountered living NPCs no longer reuse the identity of dead NPCs with a matching name or description. - New portraits for sparsely described NPCs and character previews now include the character's available name and type. Character descriptions also include the missing space in phrases such as "Mira the elf ranger." - Dialogue remains attributed to an NPC on the turn their proper name is revealed, with speaker labels updated to the newly revealed name. - Story turns now more reliably include the player character's spoken line before an NPC replies, including inputs that combine actions and dialogue. - Narration is less likely to skip or silence lines during temporary service slowdowns. - Replaying a turn in the native app or opening dialogue just after narration stops now narrates the first line and continues normally. - Party, Assistant, and accessible Studio chat tabs show their own unread dots, and the Chat icon stays marked until the unread conversation is opened. Edits, repeated messages, and your own messages no longer create false unread alerts, and unread indicators stay with the correct adventure. - Returning to a public room that resets while you are away no longer briefly shows its old story on later visits or app relaunches. - Improved live multiplayer room recovery when servers shut down during capacity adjustments, reducing interruptions and the risk of lost progress. - Fixed an issue that prevented very long adventures from saving after reaching the save-size limit. - Signed-out visitors no longer see the "Get the app" banner during game setup, reducing the risk of leaving the browser and losing their setup progress.

I’m Shane and zombies kicking my butt, I only have two ammo, my partner is gone and I’m locked in a vault. Anyway to type and say Shane pulls out master key or no? I know this not the funnest way too go about it but I am not surviving this. Thank you!

World Crossing Hearts: Around the World — v37 update adds Open Story, reworked starts, and a visual overhaul

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve been overhauling Crossing Hearts: Around the World, my contemporary travel-romance sandbox for Voyage.

The biggest change is that you now have two ways to begin:

  • Open Story: choose from 37 starting locations across eleven destinations, or let Voyage select one through its built-in Random location option. You begin in an ordinary local scene without inheriting an anthology plot or automatically accepting a quest.
  • Authored openings: choose an established situation, such as a delayed flight in Edinburgh, a destination wedding in San Miguel de Allende, or a Carnival working role in Rio.

Open Story gives you room to arrive, explore, meet people, and decide what matters. The authored starts provide an immediate situation when you want something specific to respond to.

The update also brings refreshed character portraits and expanded location and area artwork in Crossing Hearts’ cinematic painted style. Character and storytelling guidance has been revised to give more attention to distinct appearances, continuity, independent NPC goals, and the practical details of each destination.

For anyone encountering the world for the first time: you create an adult traveller or choose a premade character, then explore encounters shaped by travel, work, timing, language, and limited time together.

Romance can develop, but friendship, professional collaboration, rejection, changed plans, and goodbyes are equally valid outcomes. Your character’s feelings and decisions remain yours.

Play Crossing Hearts: Around the World

I’d particularly appreciate feedback from anyone trying Open Story: where did you begin, and did it give you enough freedom while still offering something interesting to engage with?

Bug Report Anyone else having trouble loading saved games?

Getting:

Failed to load room: AbortSignal.any is not a function

Every time I try to load any saves. Happens in alpha, beta and prod. There is a banner that says "Couldn’t connect. You can keep reading." with a blue button that says "Retry connection" at the top in the env I used to actually play the save initially. In the other envs that banner just covers the entire screen and the first message is slightly different "Couldn’t connect to your game." (without the "You can keep reading.").

Starting games is fine until I get a server update notification or something and then this happens ingame too. Guessing that moving servers is the same as loading a save?

World 🐉 Dragonlance: The Hunt for the Dark Queen

I built a Dragonlance world on Voyage where you can follow the Chronicles—or let the War of the Lance happen without you 🐉

Autumn, 351 AC. The five-year reunion is taking place on the road east of Solace. The Inn of the Last Home is nearby, Kitiara hasn’t arrived, and Fewmaster Toede is stopping travelers to search for a blue crystal staff.

That’s where the story begins. What happens next is yours.

You can play Tanis, Raistlin, Caramon, Sturm, Flint, Tasslehoff, or Tika, or create an original hero. If you choose a companion, the others know who you are and remember your shared history. If you create someone new, you enter the world with your own place in it—you aren’t automatically treated as the missing eighth member of the fellowship.

I built this as both a Dragonlance sandbox and a way to explore adventure paths drawn from the classic modules. You can investigate the staff and follow events toward Xak Tsaroth, Pax Tharkas, Thorbardin, Icewall, Sanction, and Neraka. You can also turn away from that path. The Dragonarmies, local powers, and individual NPCs have their own aims; events can develop while you’re elsewhere, and familiar outcomes aren’t guaranteed.

The world includes a broad map of Ansalon, named locations and interiors, recurring characters, factions, quests, and source-inspired encounters. Character creation uses a single class, ancestry, culture, skills, and level-gated spells or specializations, with different access for bards, priests, druids, rangers, paladins, and the Orders of High Sorcery.

This has been a substantial world-building project, and I’d be especially interested to hear how it plays for someone who doesn’t follow the companions’ expected route. Where did you go from Solace, and what changed because of it?

Question How do Character Libraries work? and where are they at?

Saw that once you reach a relationship milestone with an npc or character in a world you can bring them into your character library?

"Character Library

Your relationship with Golvax has reached Friendly. You can now add them to your character library to bring in other adventures."

Then you can choose to ADD

just wondering if that "add" does anything? Or is it just for the specific game save in the journal, character. can i use him in a new adventure?

Patch Notes October 12th, 2026 Patch Notes

2.49.0

New Features - Eligible creators can now upload world trailers in Studio, and trailers appear on world pages. Creators need an account at least 48 hours old and 1,000 total world plays, and can upload up to 5 trailers per day. - The Studio agent can now look at images. It can review generated art before applying it and describe your existing portraits, maps, locations, items, and covers, so requests like "put these portraits on the right NPCs" work without guessing. - You can now expand images in Studio to view them up close. Pinch or zoom to inspect details without changing your saved crop. - Players can now receive Usage reset tokens from our team. If you have any, the Usage menu shows how many you have and when the next one expires, and you can use one to refill your Usage. - When deleting your account, you can now tell us why. This is optional and never required to delete.

Improvements - NPC portraits now match character descriptions more closely, and two similar NPCs in the same game will no longer share a face. - If a world or save needs a newer version of Voyage, you'll now be told which environment can play it, with an option to continue there. - Worlds updated in a newer version of Voyage can now be played and remixed in older environments using the newest version that's compatible. - Studio's model picker now marks newly added models with a New badge and tells you when one typically costs less than your current pick. - Studio's JSON editor on mobile now supports selecting text, plus copy, cut, paste, and Select All. - The plan comparison on the pricing page now lines up prices, categories, and Subscribe buttons across all plans. - Daily streak extensions no longer show an announcement. You can still check your streak progress in badge details. - Creators using the Creator API now get a clear message when a saved revision isn't compatible with the current environment, instead of a generic error.

Bug Fixes - Fixed an issue where your custom character could be lost if joining a game failed. Your saved characters now appear on the character select screen, where you can reuse or delete them. - Fixed an issue where rejoining a public room after it reset could leave you stuck in an old story where actions kept failing. You'll now go to character setup instead. - Fixed an issue where narration could pause for 10 seconds on each line when voice narration wasn't playing. - Fixed an issue where a character's line could be read by the narrator instead of in the character's voice. - Fixed an issue where some NPC names appeared with underscores, like "Kildrak_Ironfoot". - Fixed the map reloading while zooming on mobile. - Adding a new game mode in Studio now opens it right away instead of showing a misleading save warning. - Fixed cards jumping around while scrolling through large NPC lists in Studio. - Fixed squashed logos on the Android startup screen. Voyage's logo is also now a normal size instead of tiny. (Update your app to see this change.)

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 12th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Creator Studio now lets creators choose Create new realm from the map realm picker, even when a world has only one realm. The new realm is automatically selected and opened for editing. - Logged-out visitors can now preview published Everyone and Teen mods, then sign in to add a mod to a world. Public content pages also show a retry option when content is temporarily unavailable.

Improvements - Creators can duplicate a world directly from its actions menu in the Studio world selector. - Returning players reach the first screen and Home sooner, with recent saves and Home rows appearing immediately while updates load in the background. - GPT Image 2.5 Flare Low is now the default model for portraits and scene images when no model has been selected, and it appears first in the model picker. Existing model selections and pricing are unchanged.

Bug Fixes - Creator Studio can now open owned worlds from links that use a short world ID. - Created-record rows in Studio chat can now be scrolled with a mouse drag or wheel, while normal clicks still open records. Keyboard focus and touch scrolling also work as expected. - Studio now asks for confirmation before deleting NPCs, locations, records, or nested file content, with Cancel selected by default to help prevent accidental deletion. - The Creator API now returns a clear revision version mismatch error when downloading or restoring a revision from a newer, incompatible Voyage environment or imported mod, instead of returning a general server error. Failed restores leave the live draft unchanged. - Worlds that import an art-direction mod now preserve that style for portraits, locations, areas, regions, and items. Blank image prompts inherit the style from the layer below instead of reverting to the default style. - Blocked or failed image requests no longer consume a free character portrait or paid image usage when no image is delivered. Messages also identify safety blocks and confirm when usage has been refunded. - Character dialogue incorrectly labeled as narrator dialogue now displays as the character's line and uses the character's voice. - The Unlockable Abilities bar now remains visible when no abilities are ready, clearly showing 0 ready. Its count also reflects both eligible abilities and available ability points. - Startup logos on Android now display at the correct proportions and a readable size. An app update is required.

Patch Notes October 12th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Voyage is now on V37, up from V36. Editing an older world prompts you to upgrade versions. As part of this change, creators should use the initialRelationship JSON field instead of relationship for an NPC's Starting relationship. - Some users will see a new section in Action Ideas called the Imagination Cloud. Tap the sparkles for three quick ideas, pick one, and it will be expanded into a full action and sent automatically. You can turn off Imagination Cloud or auto-submit in Display settings. This feature is experimental, and is only available to around 50% of users. - Hosts can now ask the Narrator to fix quest details or mark a missed quest as complete. - Creators can now customize success tiers in Studio, including score ranges, names, prompts, and images. Action result cards will show your world's tiers. - In Creator Studio, you can now browse Latitude's music library, preview songs, and add them to your world's music mixes. - You can now reorder Quests, NPC Types, Factions, and image cards in Studio by dragging, tapping, or using the keyboard. - If you're not signed in when you press Start Game, you can now sign up without leaving the page and go straight into the game. - If a save needs a newer version of Voyage, you'll now be offered a compatible version (Beta or Alpha) to keep playing it. - Added a beginner guide to Voyage's local creation tool, covering everything from creating a key to publishing through Studio. - When you import world JSON with external images, your world will still save even if some images fail. A summary lists which images failed and how to fix them. - You can now attach images, files, and music to Studio chat. Use the paperclip, paste, or drag files in, up to 10 per message. - Creator Studio has a new private "Studio world notes" field. The Studio agent keeps it up to date with timelines, canon decisions, and open plot threads. - Creator tools are now unified, with searchable JSON editing. - Hosts can now choose Kick (the player can rejoin) or Ban (the player can't rejoin until the room starts a new session), rather than removing a player always banning them.

Improvements - Characters using Gemini 3.8 TTS now have a much wider range of voices. - NPCs are now labeled by their Proper Name in Studio when one is set, and the Name and Proper Name tooltips explain the difference more clearly. - The story now uses NPC personality notes more naturally. - Character portraits created in public games are now safety-checked. If a new portrait is rejected, the previous one stays. - Studio buttons and menus now work more consistently with the keyboard and show a clear focus outline. - Studio chat now matches the Assistant's text style. - Large sections in the state editor are now split into pages so editing stays responsive. - Opening an older Studio world now shows a warning before it's upgraded. If a draft is too new for your version, you can recover an earlier copy as a separate private world. - If a page or the app fails to load, you'll now see a recovery screen with Reload and Go to Discover buttons instead of getting stuck. - Gameplay and editors now download less before opening, so they should load faster. - The "Your data export is ready" email is now clearly branded, so it no longer looks like spam or phishing. - Combat now has Silk Glint animations. Tap, click, or press Enter or Space to skip ahead. - The map panel's tabs now read "Map / Location", and unexplored pins are labeled "Unknown". - Studio messages now count toward the Daily Reward. - Studio NPC drag handles now match the hover actions on desktop. - Notifications that open a page can open in a new tab. - Voyage now has a press kit page. - Daily Reward timers now stay accurate even when your device clock is wrong. - When attempting to open a save or world that is an incompatible version, the dialog now offers you an option to change environments to continue playing.

Bug Fixes - Multiplayer games you've joined now appear in World Saves and All Saves, and you can rejoin async games even when the host is offline. - Exiting and reopening a game will no longer post "left the party" and "joined the party" messages. Guests can use Leave Party in the Party panel to actually leave. - Returning players in async campaigns now resume their saved game instead of seeing a new lobby. - Players will now see a clear message when a save needs a newer version of Voyage, instead of "Room not found.". - Fixed an issue where counters like Tarnish jumped to full when bringing a saved character into a different public game. - Corpses left behind long enough no longer stay in place, but the story still remembers who died. - Fixed an issue where closing Settings during character creation could leave you stuck. Your draft is now kept. - In Visual Novel mode, character cutouts that take a while to generate will now appear once they're ready. - Fixed an issue where party leaders chosen after the host disconnects could access the host's Studio. Only the owner and players they make Admin can use Studio. - On Android, scrolling a dropdown will no longer pick an option by accident. - Fixed a crash on Voyage home for some new accounts. - Fixed an issue where saving in Studio after renaming an entry could save to the wrong file. - Line breaks in Creator Studio messages now stay visible after sending. - Creators can now recheck an existing Studio cover without re-uploading it, and Duplicate now explains why it failed. - Creator Studio now explains that a key name is required when generating an API key. - Fixed spacing in the Usage and Streaming settings. - Fixed cut-off feedback buttons and scrolling on mobile in creator analytics. - Trending headings and links on Home now open Discover with Past Month selected. - Changing a published world to a mod (or a mod to a world) no longer leaves an old Discover listing behind. - Bookmarked saves, including AI Dungeon adventures, now show their bookmark consistently on Home, right after the action count. - Account export downloads will no longer be blocked by popup blockers, and deleted exports now stay marked as Deleted. - Fixed an issue where image uploads on iOS could crash when choosing Take Photo. Uploads now use Photo Library or Files. - Voyage Activity now shows new followers, profile tips, and creator updates. - Report reasons now show visible checkboxes. - Fixed gray bottom navigation icons on mobile. - Studio settings now stay clear of the status bar and home indicator on mobile. - Fixed iOS narration going silent or stalling when audio is interrupted. It now resumes on its own, or shows the Enable Audio prompt. - Fixed silent audio after a failed narration request. - Narration no longer stalls on markup-only lines like [DATE: …]. - Dialogue from numbered NPCs is now attributed to the NPC instead of appearing as narration. - Revived NPCs are no longer treated as permanently "recovering". - Resource updates now respect character traits and abilities, such as Infinite Stamina. - Item descriptions now keep their capital letters and line breaks. - Combat replay no longer briefly greys out the action input before the scene fades. - Fixed invited players being unable to open the original invite link. - Fixed saved room links not reopening after the embedded room became unavailable. - Fixed old cover images lingering when you switch between worlds. - Fixed manual Studio song uploads failing. - The Creator API now explains Studio version mismatches clearly instead of retrying forever. - Large Studio edits no longer freeze other rooms. - Fixed an issue where zooming on the mobile Voyage map could cause the page to reload. - Fixed one unavailable comment author breaking the rest of a comment list. - Fixed a stray horizontal scrollbar on Discover and Search on wide screens.

Question What LLMs are used to generate the images?

Out of curiosity, when using unlimited mode, is there an exact llm that is used to generate the image or does it vary by world?

World Cool suggestion

So in AI Dungeon you can make your adventure scenarios public, I think it would be cool if Voyage had the same option with people’s private adventures with their character in the world.

I know realistically this wouldn’t happen because like the devs said AI Dungeon is like a book you can write yourself while, Voyage is like an RPG where every action you do has actual consequences.

Regardless, this is an idea I was thinking about ever since I heard about Voyage in the beta test, and I love all the features they’ve implemented so far so I understand if they would never do this, I just wanted to put out an suggestion.

World Blacktop Country: Worn Colors — A grounded, open-world biker RPG inspired by Sons of Anarchy & Mayans M.C.

Hey everyone!

I've just released Blacktop Country: Worn Colors, a new open-world biker RPG for Voyage.

I've always enjoyed the storytelling in Kurt Sutter's Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. — particularly how loyalty, family, rivalries, and personal decisions can carry more weight than the violence itself.

I wanted to bring some of that atmosphere into Voyage while giving players the freedom to tell their own stories.

🏍️ THE WORLD

Set primarily across East Texas and Louisiana, with connections stretching much further, Blacktop Country features a network of motorcycle clubs, independent riders, criminal organizations, businesses, and law enforcement.

Different clubs have their own traditions, identities, relationships, and rivalries. Some are traditional outlaw MCs, others challenge established club culture.

And not everyone wears a patch.

🔥 YOUR ROAD, YOUR STORY

You can:

- Join an established motorcycle club and navigate its internal politics.

- Ride independently without answering to a president.

- Experience the world through law enforcement, organized crime, or civilian life.

- Build friendships, rivalries, romances, and complicated loyalties.

- Explore different regions and become involved in conflicts — or stay out of them.

- Create your own character and pursue your own ambitions.

There's no mandatory storyline or predetermined protagonist.

The goal is a living, grounded setting where relationships, club politics, personal choices, and their consequences drive the experience.

You might spend an evening working on your bike, get caught between rival clubs, or find yourself questioning what loyalty really means.

Not every road needs to lead to a shootout.

🎮 PLAY HERE:

https://beta.voyage.io/world/_AjO9PGRMrav/blacktop-country-worn-colors?share=true&published=true

This is the initial public release, and I'd really appreciate feedback — especially on the different starting roles, club interactions, character behavior, and overall atmosphere.

What kind of character would you bring into this world?

Ride safe. Keep your colors close.

Question Is there is a way to change the character's name ?

I already had the same issue in two scenarios where in one I wanted to change the surname of my character because of involvings of a new family and the second being where I played a reincarnated character and normally this made things akward, this caused constantly a new npc with my character's new life's name being constantly created.

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 10th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - Studio images and generated options open in a larger preview with zoom, pan, reset, and retry controls that do not change the saved crop. - The Studio worldbuilding assistant can inspect approved attached images and project artwork to use visible details when helping you. - Completed custom characters can be kept on your device for reuse in the same World, with recovery guidance after failed joins and warnings before replacing unfinished drafts. - Creators whose accounts are at least 48 hours old and whose Worlds have at least 1,000 total plays can now upload trailers for saved Worlds in Studio. Trailers aren't available for Mods. - Account deletion offers optional feedback reasons and up to 500 characters of additional feedback. Feedback is never required. - Added support for usage tokens, which can be used by a player to fully reset their usage whenever they wish. Usage reset tokens may be given out by the team in the future. - Studio's mobile JSON editor supports text selection, Select All, Copy, Cut, and Paste, with a paste dialog when clipboard access is blocked. Read-only editors allow selection and copying only.

Improvements - Unlimited-plan pricing grids align prices, benefits, and buttons more consistently on larger screens, and longer button labels wrap instead of being cut off. - NPC portraits better match character descriptions and are less likely to repeat among nearby characters. - Daily streak updates no longer show a pop-up notification. Streak counts and profile badges still update normally. - Improved Data Backups for large accounts and fixed export failures caused by unreadable action dates. Affected actions remain in the backup with a warning. - Studio's model picker now highlights newly added models and points out new options that typically cost less than your selected model. - Studio's JSON editor has more reliable touch scrolling, selection handles, edit menus, and keyboard focus.

Bug Fixes - Discover, Search, Profile, and Library filter and sort controls match the options each view supports. Switching content types clears unsupported settings. - World and Mod loading skips historical publications that require a newer engine to reach an older compatible version. - Fixed an issue opening newly added game modes in Studio before saving. - Newly generated NPC names no longer contain underscores or version-like suffixes such as _variant or _old. - Improved narration audio recovery and fixed repeated pauses when narration is unavailable. - Creators can open newer-version worlds in Alpha or Beta when compatible, with clearer compatibility messages for worlds and saves. - Mobile maps no longer reload while zooming, and pins and region labels remain aligned, readable, and consistently sized. - Remixing older-version worlds uses the newest compatible publication and its pinned mods when the requested publication cannot load. - Idle game screens use less CPU while you read. - Reconnecting after an official public room resets returns you to character setup in the same room instead of a stale story where actions fail. - Large NPC and other sortable collections no longer jump, overlap, or shift while more items load in Creator Studio. - NPC portraits that take longer to generate now replace their pending placeholders when they are ready.

Question Where is the Response from Latitude?

On 4th October 2026 I posted this topic:

'Where does Voyage actually stand? A look at what Latitude has (and hasn't) published.'

To this date 11th October 2026, there has been no response from Latitude, for my original post on Reddit.

I covered the topics:

Question Voyage Censorship NSFW

I used to play with AI Dungeon a lot until the fiasco in 2021, then left. This new format looks very interesting and I'm interested in coming back, probably around the top of the non-shadow tiers.

However, I tried the demo and it feels like a literal nun is narrating for you. I try to talk to the studio and it's flat out "no sexual content", "nothing more than a kiss", "no changing", "no showers", "no partial clothing", and "no bikinis". Seriously, it said it won't write bikinis, and everyone on a beach has to be in at least a one piece. This is using Deepseek v4 Flash, but does not appear to change with any of the other three models available.

The moderation is set to Mature. Meaning it's for adults. Supposedly. All characters in the world in question are adults, and this is in a private world. Is this level of moderation special to the demo, or can I expect the same ridiculous walls to be set if I subscribe too?

If this level of moderation is intended, and will remain in place, I would appreciate alternative options if anyone has suggestions.

Patch Notes [Alpha] October 8th, 2026 Patch Notes

New Features - A new public press kit provides Voyage product facts, press contact details, full-resolution artwork, official links, and selected coverage.

Improvements - Voyage Home now includes a For You carousel, and Discover defaults to Recommended sorting when you have not chosen another sort. Recommendations for recently published worlds and mods now focus on content with at least three weekly players. - Personalized recommendations now test alternate cards closer to the top of the results, helping surface more relevant options without changing the top-ranked card. - Creator Tools brings available tools into one tabbed workspace while preserving drafts and filters between tabs. Creators can search and manage feedback more easily, while players with advanced tool access can edit and download state data, review changes, and view tasks grouped by engine phase. - The right-panel World tab is now called Map, and undiscovered locations are consistently labeled Unknown. Creator tools also use No Realm consistently and provide clearer realm descriptions and tooltips. - The action suggestions panel has updated icons, spacing, hover effects, and a larger close button. It also stays above the input and within the screen when resizing between desktop and mobile layouts. - Buttons across gameplay, menus, character creation, quests, inventory, social features, and creator tools now have more consistent sizing, styling, keyboard controls, and mobile layouts. - Activity notifications now support browser link controls such as right-click, Cmd/Ctrl-click, and middle-click without marking the notification as read. - Pricing pages keep their main details and FAQs visible while account and plan information loads. Plans load automatically before the FAQs, and catalog errors now offer a clear "Retry pricing" option without collapsing open answers.

Bug Fixes - Cloud narration now recovers if audio freezes, especially on iOS during narration transitions or audio-route changes. Playback resumes from the stopped position or displays the Enable Audio prompt when a tap is required. - Narration no longer reads markup-only lines such as [DATE: ...], [state: ...], or <dive_v2>, though the lines remain visible onscreen. - Dialogue is now correctly attributed to NPCs with speaker labels that begin with digits followed by a letter, such as 4D student 2. These lines no longer appear as narration or expose the raw speaker label to text-to-speech. - Newly generated item descriptions now preserve the AI's capitalization, characters, and line breaks instead of converting everything to lowercase on one line. - Revived NPCs no longer remain described as recovering indefinitely. Reviving an NPC now clears its previous status unless a replacement status is provided. - Starting a world in an older environment now loads the newest compatible retained publication instead of showing a version error when the latest publication requires a newer environment. - Publishing a Mature world through the Creator API now automatically reviews its cover and public text when needed. Safe worlds retain Default discovery eligibility without requiring creators to run Check Rating in Studio first. - Keyboard and screen-reader navigation is more reliable across profiles, content, Worlds, Mods, Studio, Story Cards, editors, menus, and confirmations. Moving focus across tabs no longer activates them, and switching sections preserves drafts, list state, and scroll position. - Discover and Search no longer show a stray horizontal scrollbar or allow slight sideways scrolling on wide desktop windows. - Screen readers now identify the app as English, and social previews and search metadata describe pages more accurately. - Public worlds and mods with blank descriptions now receive a factual fallback description in search results. Existing creator descriptions remain unchanged. - Logged-out mobile guests previewing a public world now see the standard bottom navigation with a working Home link. Public world and mod pages also provide search engines with a correctly branded Home link. - Pricing pages no longer jump as plan or app banner details load. Prices stay current and consistent, with corrected annual price rounding and clearer monthly labels. - Creator Rewards members with included Shadow access now receive the correct Discord role without receiving misleading Shadow Clan messages. Their role is also updated when that access ends. - Automatic streak claims no longer repeat during cooldowns, double-claim after a manual claim, or carry stale results between accounts.

Question (Mis)calculating Usage?

Hi all,

I had used 2% of my weekly Usage.

My custom Generation settings use 2.02% Usage per turn.

I opened Studio AI and the little Usage dialogue showed me that each model costs Usage:

  • DeepSeek V4 Flash 0.37x
  • GLM 5.3 Flash 0.42x
  • GPT-5.6 Luna 1.00x
  • GLM 5.2 3.04x

So I generated a new character portrait using DeepSeek V4 Flash.

2.02% x 0.37 = .7474%

That's affordable! So my character portrait should have cost .7474%. (Or maybe 2.02% for a regular turn + .7474% for DeepSeek V4 Flash = 2.7674%.)

But of course that's not what happened... From that one portrait generation, my Usage shot up from 2% to 9%!

So one portrait using the cheapest model cost 7% Usage. I assume calculation actually was 2.02% × 3.7% = 7.474%, added to the 2% I had already used.

(And sadly the 7% was wasted! The portrait wasn't even right!)

In what way was my math wrong? Or are these models Usage costs mislabeled?

Bug Report Possible VoiceOver-related bug on iOS; Unable to leave save after opening the iOS app

I'm totally blind, and using the app on iOS. After opening a save, or re-opening the app (which loads the last save I was playing without asking, which is not ideal; ask me first), there is no way to exit or leave the save. If there's supposed to be a menu button, it isn't there. Maybe this is because of Game Mode, but IDK really. Figured I'd report this ASAP.

Question I am supposed to go into J-son and find „areas without location“ or „unassigned areas“ or something along those lines and delete it manually from there

But I have searched through so much of the Json and can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know what specific sections they would be in?

What's this about? Did I break a rule or something? I didn't get any notification. Plus, for a week, really?
