Help please!!
I was replacing my pcv diaphragm and when i was trying to get the cap back on i thought i heard a snap and when i looked this metal sleeve that goes in the middle of the diaphragm starting moving in and out, please tell me its okay and its not that important. it doesn't sound like any plastic is moving inside the diaphragm or anything. i put some jb weld on it but im not sure if its going to bond to the metal

All you can do is schmoo it in jb weld or 2 piece epoxy and just pray, it’s probably safest to replace the entire assembly but you could gamble on it

are you sure on what it does and what it could possibly do if it brakes off? its not coming completely out its just moving up and down

The pcv system controls the crankcase pressure, it’s probably a wise idea to do a test on the system to make sure it’s still functioning as intended, refer to the cap test. I can’t say I’m 100% familiar with the 3.2 layout to say the worst case scenario so I don’t wanna fear monger, the only thing I could think of is debris from the breakage getting into the oil and pcv system and damaging the diaphragm, if the part isn’t a pain and is affordable it’s good peace of mind to change it. If you can get it to properly epoxy in place without the risk of it degrading you should be fine

i just put it back on, the glove test seemed fine and i took it around the block revving it up to 3,000 rpms and theres no squeeling. I was just worried because a new oil trap/pcv is over 100$ and im supposed to be taking an 8 hour roadtrip Saturday. thank you .

Give it some time to cure the epoxy, as long as there’s no, blowby or excessive vacuum on the cap your good to go. Good luck!
