Other (requires mod approval) Is cloud-based editing the future?

I feel like this is where editing is headed. Upload your footage, let AI organize the clips and make a rough cut, then review and edit from anywhere, like on your phone. No need to carry a 4lb laptop with me all the time. any thoughts?

Upload your footage, let AI organize the clips and make a rough cut

Then you didn't edit it.

Lol yes you still edit it afterwards.

Anti Ai puritans won’t have a job in 5 years time.
It’s just a tool.

If a tool does the essential (or core) wok for you, you didn't do the work.

Lol a rough cut is certainly not the core work.

Using this logic a photographer isn’t “doing the work” because they didn’t personally build the set/do the makeup/dress the model/light the room etc. 😂

Any thoughts? Yes, this is still not reality. It might be, not sure if I like it or not, and how well you can really edit on a phone (hint: not well). I probably don't like it, but this is more of a philosophical decision of how much AI I like in my workflow. Some tools are great, but when does it become too much?

I'm waiting for chip implants in our brains. I can just visualize the idea, and send it straight to your head. No need for editing, just concepts. You have to think bigger and further ahead.
