Does everyone get the welcome bonus of 75,000 miles after spending $4000 within 3 months?

My daughter clicked on a referral link to apply for the Capital One Venture X on Monday night. No where mentioned anything about the 75,000 miles after spending $4000 within 3 months sign up bonus. She just got the card today and it doesn't say anything about the 75,000 miles sign up bonus. Will she get the 75,000 miles after spending $4000 within 3 months? She will call them later today after she's free to find out. I am just curious on her behalf.

Capital One Travel strangely had a cheaper base fare

Just yesterday I was complaining about the portal being annoying to use just for the $300 travel credit.

Well today it helped me get a crazy good price on a ticket that may have been selling out.

I was getting a domestic flight within Thailand with Thai airways and for some reason my desired flight time on Thai airways website was showing something like $125 USD or so but when I clicked into the flight the cheapest option or seat available was $200 USD+.

Strangely on AirAsia it was showing for $125 USD or so also, and Google flights, and capital one travel.

So I ended up booking on capital one travel for a total of about $121 USD somehow, including the checked bag and everything, which is way better than the $200+ booking direct was trying to charge me! And I got my 5x miles! So that’s like $6 back for free!

Well this was strange and I’m not really sure why that is but it’s making me like VX and whatnot even more. If I had to guess Thai airways decided that their direct booking seats should have their prices increased but then “3rd party travel agencies” hadn’t updated yet hence the lower price on AirAsia (not an AirAsia flight btw), c1 travel, and google flights, as well as the initial price / flight list on Thai airways website.

Hey, this is awesome. Even more benefits. I’ll take it!

Also with the miles back it actually makes it quite competitive with AirAsia pricing (not the Thai airways booking through AirAsia, but an actual AirAsia flight). Like the base fare shown on AirAsia is cheap but then they charge extra for checked bags, etc. whereas Thai airways includes a checked bag (and this is a totally separate discussion). Edit: I do think technically AirAsia might’ve came out to be cheaper a tad but presumably Thai airways is a lot more comfortable.

Edit: adjustments, mobile text typo.

Just got approved!

Hi y’all! I just got approved for the card yesterday. Capital One says it’ll take around 7–10 business days to receive the physical card, but I have a two week international trip coming up and leave Monday.

For those who recently got approved, how long did it actually take for your card to arrive? Also, is there a way to access a digital version of the card or add it to Apple Pay before the physical card arrives?

Thanks!

Is it worth it for priority pass

Solo traveler that travels about 4-5 times a year and has a priority pass lounge at local airport. I could also go to New York for the C1 lounges but usually don’t. Is it worth it to get this card for PP lounges ? I would make use of the $300 credit also.

What are your Favorites✨

I'm almost to 500k and a kind of itching to use them, but get very overwhelmed trying to find options.

What are your favorite fixed miles programs for business class? (From Seattle or Vancouver) Premium economy if less than 5 hours.

What hotels do you feel have the best value per point?

Capital One removed my wife as an authorized user with zero notification, and support gave a confusing reason. Has this happened to anyone else?

Small win today with the price match; used it for the first time. Only $15.99 but anything counts! Absolutely love the C1 travel app and service. They credited my account within like 3 min after the call.

Renew or cancel

So I’m due to renew my Venture X card by the end of the month, and I’m not sure I want to. With the Capital One credits and annual bonus, the card is essentially free, so I don’t see why not. However, the base perks of this card, compared to others, are probably about the worst you can get. Capital One Travel is almost guaranteed to be more expensive than booking directly or through a third party. They reduced the lounge access to only the main cardholders; before, it came with a guest.
Other cards without a fee are arguably better. You can almost get a standard 3% back on everything, while Capital One is only at 2%. The travel coverage is nice, but it’s only truly covered through Capital One bookings, and like I said it’s gonna cost more.

I guess I’m looking for reasons to renew. What’s your guys thoughts on the card and would you renew?

Changing flights

I booked through the Capital One Travel app and was considering changing my return flight to a day later, for those who have don’t it, is it a pretty straightforward process? Or is there hoops I have to jump through?

Capital One offers are so frustrating to actual earn them

Back in June they had an offer of 30x miles on Viator. We had 2 long cruises coming up and I booked 6 different Viator tours. I know not to use my computer as I have tracker/ad blocker on the router level, so I used my Pixel phone connected via 5G and the chrome browser.

3 of bookings awarded just fine. The other 3 did not. I called a month ago and was told that I had to wait until 90 days after Viator tour was completed to inquire. It's now been past the 90 days so called in today and spent 45 minutes speaking with 3 agents and they can't tell me why the other 3 did not get awarded. They only thing they will do is to issue some amount of courtesy credit that will be posted to my account in 7-10 business days. They would not tell what that amount might be. I'm due right at 24,000 miles from these 3 bookings.

Hi all! I'm trying to use a C1 offer where I need to spend $25 on Amazon to get 500 points. However, Amazon split up my $40 charge into 3 separate, individual charges to my card. Is this going to impact/cancel the offer qualification??

Any DPs on squarespace (either offers or shopping?)

I know that they will clawback miles/rewards immediately if you only pay for one month and then cancel your subscription, but has anyone had success avoiding that via the single-use virtual card/letting the subscription die out on its own route…?

I did their offer a month ago and was granted the rewards but am pondering whether I need to pay this second month (or, worse, third). The language of the offer was changed after the fact (don’t know how that was allowed, very shady) to add in the clause about keeping 3 months of the subscription in order to earn the rewards… it did not have that language when I activated it.

Best Strategy for 170K points

Hi, I have recently got Chase Sapphire Reserve. My wife has Freedom Unlimited. We also have traveled a lot with American Airlines in the past few years so have AA miles 100k.

We have realized that Chase has much better domestic airlines Transfer and CapitalOne has none. I do not travel international much so I am thinking to downgrade or close my VentureX.

What should be my strategy for these 170k points? Downgrade/close account or something else?

P.S: I will be coming up my anniversary in 3 weeks and do not have travel coming up to use $300 travel credit or even transfer these points to a partner.

First lounge experience underwhelming but glad I had the card

I went to the Royal Thai orchid lounge at CNX airport in the domestic terminal. I actually would’ve rather gone to the coral, which is reported to have better food options, but arrived a bit late and this was right next to my gate so I could peek out of the lounge whether boarding had started or not yet.

It was a tad crowded at first, and isn’t big. The orange juice was okay. I had a few bites of a chocolate brownie that was good but basic.

The private bathroom was nice. The food didn’t look too appetizing.

This is probably gonna sound silly but what I really liked was getting a FREE bottle of water. Normally I’d pay overpriced airport prices for that lol. To be able to just take that is already making lounges more worth it.

Next time I’ll try the coral executive. I also in a few days will be having the opportunity to visit a lounge at Bangkok airport domestic departures so maybe that’ll be better.

In the future I’ll visit Taipei, probably March or April 2027, and twice most likely, so I look forward to their apparently highly rated lounges.

I think there was 2 other lounges available.

TBH I definitely would not pay for a lounge experience like this but I will put up with using the annoying portal for getting my $300 credit to then be able to access lounges.

Overall was a good experience and I’m glad I got the card. Looking forward to trying other lounges, and even if I just get a free couple bottles of water for the flight and a little snack it’s worth it.

Edit: I also must add that I liked that at least in this lounge almost every seat seemed to have a dedicated charging port, unlike the main areas with limited charging spots. So it was really mine having guaranteed device charging.

So overall I say worth it. A bit more chill, dedicated charging options, and free water bottles make it worth it.

Is it possible to set up my partner with the extra lounge pass if he is a foreign citizen?

I’ve added my partner as an authorized user to my card but hit a wall when asked to set up an online account because it requires a Tax ID number.

It looks like the only way to pay the $125 fee for a year access is if he has the online account. He’s a UK citizen. Is there any way to get around this?

We’ll be back in the US together for Christmas if we need to speak to someone in person.

DFW lounge closed at 12pm on a Tuesday

Makes very little sense, they’re gonna close the lounge for hours during the middle of the day? The capital one app even shows “not busy” and “open” for the lounge.’ Took the skylink and came all the way here just to find out it’s closed. So dumb. Why don’t they update the app then?

Domestic flights

Got this card because I enjoy traveling, obviously has the credit and great SUB. I didn’t think it would be so hard to use my points to book domestic flights. The portal flight prices are high, and using the alliance websites are clunky and still aren’t great deals. Is it worth keeping the card if I mainly only travel domestic and not overseas? Does downgrading to the normal venture make sense? It just seems to me like my chase points are more valuable since they go to southwest and United

Pre-approval tool is trash

I have been trying to get Venture X for over a year now. Everytime I'd try the pre-approval tool I'd get either nothing to qualify for or one low tier card. Reason not enough credit. My credit goes back 30 years with a score of 815 and capital one checking for 10 years. Tonight I tried again and same story...not a card I'd qualify for. Dissapointed I went to Chase reserved reddit and started browsing it. This is where someone has had the same experience but with chase. Several users told him to just apply for the card and skip the pre-approval tool. Went back to Cap1 site and this time I just straight up applied even if less than an hour ago I was told I dont qualify for any card. Guess what...I got approved with a 40k limit .

So ya pre-approved tool is just a distraction
