Hi everyone,

The Veganic Summit is back this year, and it's happening from November 6th-8th (it's all online and people can watch whichever talks they'd like in a pretty flexible way, so even if you're busy that weekend it's still worth signing up).

You can see the whole speaker lineup at https://veganicsummit.com/ There's some pretty cool stuff this year, including veganic farm visits in Europe, vegan organic school gardens, and how to garden veganically in dry climates.

It's free to watch all the talks (there's also an optional paid ticket with bonus stuff like Q&As and veganic e-books).

You can sign up at https://veganicsummit.com/ and hope to see you there!

Does this even exist? And if so, will it cost me a fortune to fill a garden bed?

The final People’s Summit Declaration includes:

• Integration of food systems into fossil fuel dependency frameworks
• Inclusion of agricultural methane emissions as a consideration
• The naming of both industrial and animal agriculture in relation to the above points
• Support for shifting subsidies towards animal-free ecofarming and connecting this with rewilding and ecosystem restoration
• Inclusion of regenerative grazing in the list of false solutions

Following the People’s Summit at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, Seed the Commons is offering a 5-part webinar series to tackle the next steps in solving our climate crisis. We are kicking off by bringing to a broader audience two panels that were presented at the People’s Forum. Both webinars look at animal agriculture in the Americas–a topic that is central to deforestation, biodiversity loss and climate collapse, and yet is too often ignored. Sunday’s webinar will start to take us towards solutions, with a look at what is already being done and what the past can teach us for a truly Just Transition away from fossil fuels.

In this webinar, Chema and Nassim will expand on the topics of the previous day by bringing a historical perspective to the role of animal agriculture in the Americas. They will also look at how Indigenous Mesoamerican knowledge can inform our work for a radical transition, which is urgently needed and must move beyond colonial paradigms of land and production. They look past false solutions, including “regenerative grazing”, and call for a shift toward a land ethic proven by both ancient practice and modern science. They show that the transition we all speak of starts not with technology but with territory - returning land to forests, ecosystems, and communities capable of sustaining them - and how agriculture fits into the picture.

This is the second in our webinar series From Extraction to Regeneration: Lessons and Next Steps after the People’s Summit Towards COP30. This series presents critical conversations on addressing our climate crisis and the radical changes this entails.

It is Feb 22, 2026 10:00 AM PT.

Webinar Description: Agriculture has been mostly absent from the official discourse at climate summits, but any real strategy to address climate change must have agriculture at its center. It is urgent that we look beyond false solutions and transition away from both industrial agriculture and animal agriculture. In this webinar, we will learn about growing food ecologically as a strategy for resilience that starts on the farm and extends far beyond. This information is useful for farmers, gardeners, and everyone who wants to work towards a climate-friendly food system.

Hi !

One question I often come upon from growers or non growers is to what extent vegan people could actually support veganic farmers.

Have any of you farmers any experience in reaching out to vegans around ? How do you do this ? Like do you contact vegan non profits, publish posts on local vegan social media feeds etc. ?

Grower's I've talked about this with had two main things to say :

- They wish the vegan community would more actively support their work and organize accordingly.

- Often ignorance or little knowledge about the importance of undertaking and creating veganic ways of cultivating our food. For one person I've talked to, these interactions even soured to the point they don't even try to reach out to radical / mainstream vegan community.

Of course I'm aware that developping veganic farming isn't only doable by the grace of consumers, and that there is great need for organizing, struggling to defend and build this model. But still, finding ways to create that link between growers and vegan consumers seems important to me.

The Veganic Summit starts tomorrow! 🌍
