DIY DIY Flavourings NSFW

I'm extremely happy to report that Flavourart has redesigned their website, and that their PG-based concentrates are no more expensive than before the vape tax was introduced.

Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 vs. Oxva VPrime 2? NSFW

Is anyone running both these vapes or has maybe used one and then switched to the other?

I'd go ahead and just buy a VPrime2 but I'm slightly wary because of the cost of the replacement pods, I'm guessing it'll work out a bit dearer to use them instead of the GTX coils I use with the Vaporessos.

If you're using the Oxva and have also used the XR Max or Max 2, how does flavour compare with the Vaporeso coils and how long do the Oxva pods last? I'd be using the 0.4 ohm ones.

TIA

Question Wanting to sell some of my older "collectible" mods - where is best? NSFW

I've had a look at some other previous posts on this subreddit on where to sell but they are several years old.
I'm wanting to sell my old what I would class as some collectible/rare mech mods (all authentics) like Steel Punk Slug, Touchwoods (18350, 1860 & 26650) plus some others.
I know I can't sell on ebay and don't want to risk it anyway because i've just started selling some home bits and pieces on there.

Can anyone recommend where to list them - are there any good UK facebook groups anyone can recommend?

Question Vprime 2 pods NSFW

It appears that these can't be opened to remove the silicone bung like the old ones could so it's impossible to see inside how much liquid is in the pod. Filling is also frustrating, tried straight, tilt - no dice, the liquid just starts leaking out when the pod is full, which is hard to see because of the bung. Has anyone got any advice or techniques to address this? It's otherwise a beautiful device but this TPD restriction is making it frustrating to use. Thanks!

DIY DIY E-Juice Starter Kits? NSFW

Any recommendations for a good value starter kit? Best looking deal I've found so far is the XXL kit from Make my Vape, but I have no idea which flavours to pick and I'm curious to see if there's a better deal or a better choice for a different response. Any and all advice welcome basically, I'm not looking to become a flavour mixing genius or anything, I just want to try and beat the tax as best as possible.

Vape Oddity? NSFW

Post image
3 Upvotes

This arrived today, 60ml shortfill of 100% VG liquid. I never realised anyone made liquids without PG so when I stumbled across it during my late-night internet musings I thought it's got to be worth a try.

Unless it's stupendously good I doubt I'll buy any more as it cost a fair bit more than I usually pay for 120ml bottles.

I guess it's a niche kind of thing, I remember reading on one forum that some people vape plain VG with nicotine and no flavourings but it sounds pretty unappealing.

Since I found this I've been looking for VG-based flavour concentrates to use in my DIY mixes but haven't found anything yet.

I usually prefer my liquids on the VG-heavy side, e.g. when I add nic to a 120ml bottle of 70:30, I use 3.4ml of 72mg nic in VG, then add another 16ml of VG, giving 120ml of 75:25 juice with 2.04mg nicotine per ml. Most of my DIY liquids are around 85:15 to 80:20 and 85:15 is noticeably more cloudy than 75:25.

I'm going to keep on shaking this up every few hours until tomorrow evening then try it out. I've had a couple of finger dabs and there's a very nice flavour of fresh strawberries but the custard is much less noticeable.

Is anyone else using this or know any other 100% VG brands or anywhere I can buy VG-based flavourings?

Vape constantly leaking NSFW

New to the sub.

Been using oxva products for the past few years (currently Nexlim) and while I know a lot of pod leaks are due to user error, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong the last few months. The pods are constantly leaking. No idea where it's leaking from. Seems whenever I lift the pod out, the part that inserts into the vape is covered in liquid.

My vape is always vertical.

I fill it slowly to avoid flooding.

I leave a bit of air in the pod to avoid overfilling.

I'm running it at 20W, 0.6ohm.

Am I doing something wrong? Are the new Nexlim pods just god awful? Do I just need to buy a new kit?

Any advice/recommendations are appreciated

Question Do we drop the “/ml” too casually when talking about vape strength? NSFW

Post image
2 Upvotes

An earlier photo of my ELF Energy Bull pouch tin, labelled 20mg, got a “damn 20 mg” reply. Fair reaction, but it also got me thinking about how we talk about nicotine strength in vaping. We say “10mg liquid” or “20mg salts” and usually understand that we mean mg/ml. Once pouches enter the conversation, that shorthand gets confusing. Mg per ml, mg per pouch and mg per gram are different measurements. The same number across different formats doesn’t mean the same nicotine intake. I’d rather see the full unit printed clearly beside the number. A huge “20” with the information explaining it tucked away somewhere else isn’t particularly helpful. For people here familiar with both formats have you ever caught yourself reading a pouch label as though it were an e-liquid label? Would consistently writing out mg/ml and mg/pouch make these discussions clearer?

Converted from Dojo Blast to Vaporesso LUXE XR Max 2. Very little flavour in comparison. Help appreciated! NSFW

Bought a couple each of Zeus juice, Riot Squad, Just Juice and Jack Rabbit. Was excited to try out all these new bangers and to my dismay the flavour is sub par at best!!! Really weak sauce.

I'm using .3 GTX coils, the vape automatically sets the optimum wattage, I'll give the juice 10-20 mins to set into the wick, pray to the vaping gods, etc, etc but every single one of them is definitely not producing anywhere near the flavour they should be. It's just very faint.

I spoke to a lady over the phone at my local vape shop and she said the pre-filled vapes have more intense flavour. Sure, that might be the case, but the difference in flavour intensity here is HUGE! The vape has got glowing reviews so something is amiss here...

Any ideas what is going wrong?!?

Question Lost mary 6K refill pod won’t click into place NSFW

Just bought a refill for my 6k but for some reason the liquid pod keeps sliding out. I’ve removed the silicone cap and there are no issues with my empty pod. They look identical.

DIY'ers and the new Duty... NSFW

I don't know how many people here mix their own. I've vaped for nearly 17 years. I started with a few premixes, but the company I first used had a huge DIY section. Since my second order, I've always made it myself. When we had the last nicotine 'problem' in 2016, I bought in bulk and kept it in the freezer. I think that was the first time I started really buying in 'large' quantities.

Anyway, here we are again! With the current forecast, I've gone for upping the quantities I purchase again, which brings 1 litre of my mix to £10.37. Low mg strength (2mg) as I vape a 'moderate' amount, a litre lasts me two months. So now the most expensive thing will be the pods I use, @ 4ea/month.
I use an Xros mini these days; I found I got too obsessive with making my own coils fo the mods etc. lol I'm also pretty boring and vape one flavour. I have occasionally bought 10ml of another flavour, for a little change, but I just love my mango. lol

I want to share what my mix breakdown looks like. I've made the spreadsheet public, if anyone wants to copy it, or just play with it! (preview below for transparency)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gL291qwgtnbi5L9hsUJqi3pZzoks32gftwcTyarTwXQ/edit?usp=sharing

There are no links inside the spreadsheet - I have read the rules... and no, I'm not a vendor... just a normal vaper!

Question Steeping Time For NET Longfills? NSFW

I've bought a few 60ml longfills of NET varieties off Drake's to try out, I added the VG & nic a week ago.

Can anyone tell me what the optimum steeping time will be for these? I never tried this kind of thing before, hope it's good..

Question The tax amounts are completely absurd NSFW

I managed to stock up with my favourite liquids recently and then compared what this would cost me had I been subject to the new tax. The difference is completely obscene.

The taxation was intended to reduce teenage and underage vaping but we all know the younger vapers are more likely to buy disposable vapes rather than ordering bulk items online.

I made a comparison between items I regularly buy that demonstrates the tax disparity between buying disposable vapes and shortfill liquids

Shortfill example (Kingston 500ml, no nicotine)

Current Price: £26.99

Tax to be added on top: £110 (500*0.22)

Total when new taxation applied: £126.99

110 is 86.62% of 126.99

126.99 is a 370.50% increase of 26.99

£0.25 per ml

Disposable example (Lost Mary 15k Nera refill 12ml)

Current Price: £6.99

Tax to be added on top: £2.64

Total when new taxation applied: £9.63

2.64 is 27.41% of 9.63

9.63 is a 37.76% increase of 6.99

£0.8 per ml

While the price per ml of the disposable is higher, the amount of actual taxation is lower.

Your average teenager isn't going to be all-to-concerned that their vape is going to increase by a couple of quid; they will just pay it and continue whereas those of us buying shortfill are going to get an eye-watering wallet-raping seeing a 370% increase in prices, not to mention having to purchase nic shots on top of that which could add a further £60 to the £126 example figure.

This is an unprecedented levy on goods, when have we seen 370% slapped on anything previously. Its so obscene, I could literally vape malt whiskey at a cheaper pence per ml or possibly even expensive Champagne.

Sorry for the rant but I just can't believe there isn't more uproar about this and from what I've seen the only petitions about it were closed over a year ago and had very little interest.

Is it worth petitioning again?

How long does a 10ml bottle of nicsalt vape liquid last you? NSFW

I feel I can go through nearly a bottle a day. I'm a pretty heavy vaper.

I think I may vape too much, and with the price increase, I'm thinking of reducing.

I'm a delivery driver, so access to my vape is pretty constant - unfortunately!

Question Switching to zero nicotine and wanting to use shortfills - recommendations? NSFW

Best recommendations for brands, and where to buy online?
I usually use e liquids - hayati pro max, elux legend, or bar juice, at 10mg in 10ml bottles. Wanting to switch to 0mg and use shortfills due to the price.
My preferred flavours are anything blue (blue sour raspberry, blueberry raspberry, blueberry cherry, etc).
Any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Question How long does something stay in your bag before it becomes a routine? NSFW

A few weeks ago I posted that my KEKO Energy Bull 9mg tin was already living next to my campus ID. Nothing dramatic has happened since then, which is almost the point: I keep noticing it in the same pocket and reaching for the same tin during the same parts of the day. First impressions are easy to write because everything is noticeable. A routine is quieter. It is less about one especially strong opinion and more about whether the product keep ending up where you can actually use it. When do you personally stop calling something ‘a product I’m trying’ and start calling it part of your routine? Do you all trust first-day reviews, end-of-tin reviews, or the boring update several weeks later when the novelty has worn off?

Question Vape leaking and spitting into my mouth? NSFW

Hey all,

I’ve got a VooPoo drag 5 and I’ve never had a major problem with it, I was refilling it recently and didn’t notice the little nozzle tip wasn’t on and ended up pouring it all inside my vape tip, I took off the atomoizer and gave everything a good clean and dry then put it back together. It works as long as I don’t fill it over like 1/4 of my tank. So I changed coils, got a new tank and the same thing is still happening. Anyone know what I could try so I could fill my tank up to full and stop it leaking or spitting into my mouth?

Question Which parts of a vape review are actually useful when the product is a pouch? NSFW

After writing about carrying ELF Energy Bull pouches alongside my vape on commuting days, I realised that most of the review language I use for vaping does not transfer very neatly. Device, coil, battery and draw questions disappear; even familiar words like ‘hit’ can become vague very quickly....For a pouch, I find myself lookingfor clearer flavour language, readable strength information, how the tin behaves in a pocket or bag, and enough context to understand who is describing it. Comparing the flavour with a familiar vape might help one reader and completely confuse another. For the vapers here who also use pouches, which comparisons genuinely help you? Would you all rather a review connect the pouch to a familiar e-liquid flavour, or judge it entirely on its own terms?

Question What vape kit for Orange County CBD E-Liquid NSFW

Hi there,

I've got some Girl Scout Cookies CBD E-Liquid from Orange County's Cali Range.

I love the flavour but I'm struggling to find a vape kit that doesn't spit back or leak.

So far I've tried Vaporesso Xros 4, SXmini PureMax, and SXmini PureMax v2.

I've had the best results with SXmini PureMax, but it keeps spitting back.

Has anyone had any luck with other kits? One of the e-liquid reviews suggested using Nectar Hive, but there's barely any reviews of that vape / brand.

Question Where you guys buying flavourings after the tax comes into effect? NSFW

PG/VG and Nicotine are simple enough, but what about concentrates? I noticed Chefsflavour has a workaround for this and I definitely always wanted to learn how to bake but is there anywhere else?

New 50ml limit announced for travellers coming back to the UK NSFW

They've announced a limit of 50ml of liquids when entering the UK from abroad.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/travelling-to-the-uk/travelling-to-the-uk

Vaping products

50ml of vaping product.

From 1 October 2026, Vaping Products Duty (VPD) applies to vaping liquid (nicotine or non‑nicotine) whether contained within a pre-filled vaping device, or as separate e-liquid. Goods over allowance must be declared and duty and tax duty paid on the full amount.

Please note that you cannot combine your alcohol, tobacco and vaping products allowances. For example: you cannot bring more alcohol back if you do not bring any tobacco or vaping products.

Alcohol, tobacco and vaping products allowances are only available to those aged 17 and over. This means if you are under 17 and bring back any of these goods you must pay tax and duty on the full amount.

It's cheaper to go back to cigarettes at this rate.
