FOUND: Ladies loungewear

A pair of sweatpants and underwear were found on the UofM campus. They've been there since sometime last week and nobody has claimed them. They appear to belong to a petit female, and have some light stains (looks like food?) on the front thigh. It is still there as of now (5pm EST October 12th, 2026.)

What: Light grey sweatpants, silky dark blue PUMA thong with orange logo/inscription.

Where: University of Memphis Main Campus, Btw the Engineering Science/Admin buildings.

They are hanging in a Kroger bag on the hinge of the double door next to the campus map; on the left hand side of the handicap accessible path (entrance on Central Ave).

You're welcome! (will take rewards if offered lol)

About a creepy professor

I had an odd experience with a professor. Weird thing is I never even took his class before. He would just show up at my workplace and start talking to me, acting like I was the nicest person he ever met. I don’t even think I ever had him as a customer before. He just randomly started interacting with me.

On one of these days, he told me he was professor at the university and started talking about what he teaches, researches, etc. I thought maybe he recognized me from campus, which might be why he kept talking to me. Anyway, I told him I was a student, and then he started telling me how “attractive” and “magnetic” I was. His english was bad, so I didn’t want to assume he was flirting. He also told me to look him up online to see if I was “interested.” I wasn’t sure what he meant, but all I saw online was stuff about his work, so I guessed he wanted me to take his class or look at a research opportunity. He asked if I wanted to meet up with him to talk, but he left before saying when or where.

After that, I sent him an email telling him I’d be interested, but he never replied. Instead, he showed up to my workplace again later that week to tell me it was “not appropriate” to communicate through the university email. He told me to give him my phone number, and even though I was suspicious, I did. I really didn’t want to assume it was something creepy, and I was also still convinced he was trying to talk to me about a research opportunity or something. But then he said his plan was to have coffee together during his office hours to make him ”feel calm” and started yapping about how ”nice“ and ”relaxing” it is to talk to me.

So that me anxious, but I was still trying to convince myself that there was actually something school related this dude wanted to tell me about. We ended up texting once a week for a few weeks, each time just to plan to meet during his office hours (which he only has once a week). Each week though, it would end up getting cancelled. The first time was because of me. This made him come to my workplace again just to complain about how disappointed he was I didn’t show up.

The next couple of weeks he cancelled. Unexpectedly, he texted asking me to meet up during fall break. I asked him why it would be necessary to meet off campus. I also asked him if we were just gonna talk about research. No replies since.

Just wanted to share my experience. Does he seem creepy or am I just overthinking it?

Campus Bees

Hey guys, I'm not really sure if anyone else has inquired about this, but does anyone know what's with all the bees on campus. I personally don't mind them, but I was curious if anyone else had noticed this. For some reason, they're especially attracted to the trash cans.

Anyone here in the MS Accounting Program?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking into the Master of Science in Accounting program at the University of Memphis and wanted to get some honest feedback from anyone who is currently in it or recently graduated.

I’m coming from a bit of a different background (I got my bachelor's degree in engineering) but am looking to pivot into accounting. So if anyone has gone down this route, I would love to hear your experience and any insights.

  1. How do you like the program overall?

  2. How is the workload, especially if you are balancing it with work?

  3. How are the networking/recruiting events? Do local or Big 4 firms recruit heavily from here?

  4. How well did the coursework actually prepare you for the CPA exam?

Any pros, cons, or general advice would be appreciated!!

Advice PhD Waitlisted at University of Memphis

Hello everyone,

I need some advice regarding my PhD application to the University of Memphis.

I waited for almost 1 month and 1 week for the result. After following up, I received this response:

"Your application is currently on a waitlist.we currently don't have available slots in the program. We will know if a slot opens"

My question is:

  1. Has anyone here ever been on a waitlist and later got admitted? If yes, what is the process and what are the chances of getting off the waitlist?

  2. Also, how long do I have to wait after being on the waitlist?

Any guidance or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Sports Memphis at 3-1 coming off the bye, American play opens at Charlotte (plus a free CFB pick'em)

Hey guys, quick look at where the Tigers stand with conference play starting.

Year one under Charles Huff is off to a solid start: 27-21 at UNLV to open, 42-24 over Arkansas State, and 45-21 over UT Martin. The one loss is 38-20 at Boise State, which is a tough place for anyone.

After the bye, the American opener is at Charlotte (0-4) Saturday at 2:30 CT, then UAB at home, then at Tulane, probably the game that decides whether Memphis is a real conference contender.

Since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em, and Week 5 is open. 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Good slate too, with Bama at Miss State (both unbeaten) and Ohio State at unbeaten Iowa. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET, before the Charlotte kickoff.

What are you guys seeing from Stokes and the offense? Is the Boise loss a concern, or is this team for real?

Hi!
I just submitted my application for the Service-Learning in Panama for Spring Break 2027 & this is my first time doing anything like this, so I'm just curious as to what to expect & what type of community work will be involved. I'm just overall really curious about the whole process.

Also, would there be any reason for my applicatin to be rejected?

Hell all, I’ve been going to a laundromat to do my laundry (doing laundry at the dorms scare me 😭) but I’m kinda short on money for the week so I was gonna attempt it at Rawls. The only issue is that I have no idea where it’s located. Does anyone know where to find it?

Introduction: David Miller (Fmr. SSgt, USAFR) – Public Representative for Ostep Wesley

Hi Tigers,

I wanted to introduce myself to the community. My name is David Miller. I am a former Air Force Staff Sergeant (USAFR, DAV, VFW, OEF), and I am acting as the local public representative and advocate for a proud University of Memphis Architecture alumnus, Ostep Wesley.

Ostep spent his years walking the campus halls, studying late in the design labs, and building his career here in the Mid-South. Right now, he is navigating a critical immigration legal timeline and urgently needs our community's backing to secure qualified representation for his upcoming court defense.

I am leading a grassroots, verified neighborhood group to rally individual donors and local professional networks (like AIA Memphis) to help him reach his legal defense goals. My role is to ensure total accountability, structural transparency, and verification for every single piece of documentation regarding his case.

I’ve posted the main thread detailing his narrative story and verification tracking hubs elsewhere on the campus timeline, and I will keep the comment section below open for any questions from students, faculty, or fellow alumni.

Thank you for welcoming me to the community, and thank you for showing what Tiger Pride truly looks like when a member of the family needs us.

Sports Memphis at UNLV, Saturday 9:00pm

Hey all, a few weeks back I posted the Memphis preview in here and it seemed like people got something out of it, so I wanted to share the actual site it came from.

Short version: I do pregame emails before every game, then postgame box scores, highlights and summaries. Free, and it's only the teams you follow, no filler.

Memphis page: https://www.highlights.mainmarket.com/memphis-tigers

And the preview itself if you missed it: https://www.highlights.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fbs/memphis-tigers

First look at Stokes and the Huff era. Go Tigers!
