I recently beat the game on True Zenoiran, including the "Dying Breath of an Empire Fallen" battle. Now I'm looking for a fun new challenge to try out for yet another rerun because honestly the way this game is designed is just really great for replays.
Could you recommend me some fun challenge ideas to try out?

After 163h in 2,5 years i finally got to the bottom of it. I was playing on expert with no mercenaries. It wasn't hard but it was very long. Anyway, while it's flawed in many ways, it's a labour of love and I'm glad I did it.

I'm playing the final level right now, and I accidentally let Hermann die. I don't really want to restart the whole level. Is there a problem? Is Hermann necessary for the golden ending? This is my first time playing.

Did the post game quest and I was pretty hyped to see the rewards but then quickly realized that other than the post game and final quest repeat that the game's basically done.
All of the units you got had me thinking there'd be like a tower of battles or something. Even a NG+ mode where you keep your current units would have been huge. Would have given me a better reason to for example grind the arena or something.
Now don't get me wrong. I LOVED my playthrough of UO but I just wish there was a bit more to the post game. Especially since you get so little time to mess with the albion units etc.

Issue resolved. View bottom for strat
So ive been at the game for a bit now, figured out that the coloseum can be pretty well cheesed. Got myself up to the second Amalia fight but struggle there. Units are level 20 ( +/- 5 levels). So far other strats have not worked yet (Solo Rouge dies to truestrike or Solo Swordmaster dies because evade is triggered instead of parry/doesnt have enough pp to trigger parry twice) which i presume is because of patches. Does anyone know any cheese that works for the current version? I really want to have Amalia. (I've been seduced). I appreciate all help you may have.
EDIT: IT WORKS IF YOU COMBINE SOLO ROUGE AND SOLO SWORDMASTER!!! SECOND ATTEMPT WORKED!

Because you cannot switch equipment with other units in actual missions when they are already put out in the field (with a few exceptions of course)
So you can test each equipment to who it suits best without regretting it in the actual mission and wishing you could have switched it earlier with someone else

Just got to post game and have more paladins available. I like the class and I've heard that they've got unique tricks in the book but I'm not great at setting up tactics.
Any cool ideas?

So, I love the fact that you can hire more characters of different classes. I just wish I could name them. Legit, I bought the game (while it was on sale) because 1) I never beat it the first run through(Had it on PS+) and 2) I wanted to make a team based solely on me and my buddies. However I completely forgot you couldn't name the hires you get, so that kinda kills that second point.

My original experience on launch was stack my strongest and bumrush the goal. Has that changed? Have they given harder modes since launch?

So I’ve decided to try a fire team with Hilde, Chloe, and Aush. The other two character probably a healer maybe a shaman for fire curse. Was wondering is fire breath better than a flame conferral dive? Or flame conferral the fire breath for a double stack of fire? This would be for an anti armor team. Than I’d want war cry to stop the guards with Aubin but I like him on my ice team for the added damage with ice battle axe. I’m at the tail end of Bastoria if that helps.

The summoned warriors valor skill from sellswords came in handy every now and then but I really wasn't a fan of losing out on XP when they got the W so I kinda just ignored it.
I'm in the snowy area dealing with a particularly tough side quest and I decide I just need some breathing time, decided to summon the archers just to see if they were stronger than the sword guys, another team of mine gets in a fight and I realize that I have suddenly have access to ranged support and I get the W.
It's a crazy handy valor skill. I already liked Sellswords/Landsknechts since they look cool and work well in most situations but this skyrockets their value out in the field for me. Wonder if I'm missing out on some other cool side benefits to valor skills?

And seeing Amalia I thought I was going to unlock her but she lv 40 isn't that like the end of the game I hate when games lock cool characters to the end because don't get to spend as much time with them.

Basically if we resisted the urge to role play and were willing to break apart teams Such as virginias rose knights, and aimed for full coverage by final boss fight what would you want 1 of?
You naturally want a alain team, but he honestly doesn't need much to be good. he's almost impossible to mess up.
You naturally want a virginia team, but honestly her with the rose knights is already pretty good match up coverage even by end game. Normally i just slap the rose knights with a Seargant and they are good to go.
Berengaria focus team is pretty nice, build her team right and she will win like 70-90 percent of her match ups. And not just win but flat out kill.
Then I make a Yunifi team to spam her 2 cost with cat ears, pretty good match up coverage.
Then because the game throws so many calvs at you, normally you have one calv team, it's almost impossible to not have 2-3 great knights at level 30 by mid game, just because the game throws them by the dozen at you.
What else do you guys feel is a must have? personally my for fun teams is a crit sword master team powered by druids to help them become tank murderers. pretty consistant strat for me.
