Customer scam?

Customer places an order. Goes to pick it up themselves. Order keeps getting bounced around until it’s finally cancelled. Customer gets free food. Drivers waste their time. Restaurant gets screwed.

I know it’s probably not new, but I’ve been out of the delivery biz for a while. Just doing this part time for extra money.

I showed up to pick up an order, and the restaurant said someone already picked it up and knew the exact contents of the bag. We talked to support and they said I was the first and only driver assigned to the delivery. I called the customer and the minute I said I was their driver, they hung up on me.

Mad props to being creative. But also garbage move.

USA Weird encounter

Ordered a smoothie through Uber Eats. The order arrived while I was showering, and when I finished, I noticed I’d missed messages from the driver asking, “Can I get a tip?” Weird, considering I’d already included a tip when placing the order. I checked my security camera footage, and it showed him knocking multiple times, calling out “HELLO?!”, and lingering around my door for a min or two.

Now, I like to give ppl the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he’s new to Uber, but seriously? Doesn’t Uber show drivers that a tip was already included? And why are you trying so hard to get someone to answer the door just to ask for an additional tip?

Anyways, I bring the drink inside and notice the lid is off the cup, resting loosely on top of it with half the top uncovered. The restaurant unfortunately didnt seal the bag, either. The drink itself looked completely full, so I can’t tell whether the lid simply came off during transit or something else happened.

Needless to say, I don’t trust it, especially after the driver’s unusual behavior. I’m not accusing him of tampering with anything because I obviously have no direct proof, but the whole situation feels off.

Would you guys report this to Uber? My biggest hesitation is that this guy knows where I live, and I really don’t want to risk retaliation over a complaint. Does anyone know whether Uber tells drivers when a customer reports them?

Walking delivery over an hour

I ordered from a place that's not all that far away, and I see on the app that it's going to be delivered by someone who's walking and that the scheduled time is over an hour "with some stops along the way."

I know a lot of people lie on delivery apps and say they're walking or biking when they have a DUI and can't legally drive but do it anyway, but this person actually seems to be walking judging by how slowly they're going. And yes, I know delivery is a luxury and that if I don't like it, I should go get it myself.

But argh. Over an hour with some stops along the way is ridiculous for a place less than a mile away. The food is going to be nasty. I wouldn't have ordered at all if I knew it would take so long and that someone would have to walk that delivery.

Uber Eats order missing 10 out of 19 items — will the driver get in trouble?

I ordered groceries through Uber Eats in Europe, and out of the 19 items I ordered, 10 were missing. I reported the missing items through the app because I paid for them and never received them.

Now I’m wondering what happens on the driver’s side. Can the driver get penalized or have their pay reduced because I reported so many missing items? Or would this usually fall on the store if the items were never packed in the first place?

I’m not trying to get anyone in trouble, I just want to understand how this works, especially for grocery orders in Europe.

Has anyone here experienced this as a driver or had something similar happen? I’d appreciate hearing how it actually works.

I’m at a loss for words. My food came, and then the driver came back up the stairs and delivered another bag, full of diapers and poop. Support said they’ll contact me with a human in 6-12 hours, but I don’t want him to have his tip and I’d like to report him. I’m shocked. I have him on my ring camera going back down to get the poop bag. I tipped him $6 on a $18 order.

Fwiw: I don’t care about the money. But I care about being scammed. The checkout showed the total of about 12$ and I tipped 5$ on top of that. But I was charged around 42$.

Uber Eats Driver Issue in Miami – Only Receiving Trip Radar Requests Instead of Exclusive Orders. Has This Happened to Anyone Else?

Hi everyone,
I’m an Uber Eats driver in Miami, Florida, and I’m having a serious issue with my account. I’m hoping someone here has experienced the same problem and can help me find a solution.
Since the morning of Monday, October 5, I started my usual full-time workday, just like I do every day. However, I was surprised to find that I was receiving almost exclusively Trip Radar requests instead of regular exclusive orders. When I do receive exclusive orders, most of them are very low-paying and not worth accepting.
I’m now going into my second week dealing with this problem, and it’s seriously affecting my ability to meet my daily earnings goals.
I’ve contacted Uber Support several times, but they keep telling me that everything looks fine with my account. Unfortunately, the problem hasn’t been resolved.
Has anyone in Miami or anywhere else experienced this issue? Has anyone found a way to fix it? Could there be something wrong with my account, or could this be a system issue?
Please help me! I’m a full-time driver, and this situation is making it very difficult to earn a living. I’d sincerely appreciate any advice, suggestions, or solutions from drivers who have experienced the same problem.
Thank you so much for your help!

Got this request today from a local hardware store. Was very confused when the navigation kept telling me to go back to a spot. The spot they (uber) wanted me to pick up from is in photos below. The store has tried telling Uber, but it's still happening. Luckily I didn't need navigation to tell me how to get there lol.

USA Pathetic Merchant Onboarding

Are they smoking crack at Merchant Onboarding in USA? I signed up my FoodTruck through ToastPOS on UberEats because of 1 year free subscription with UberEats and guess what, after filling in all information regarding my UberEats Merchant account where I am the admin, they showed me an advisory saying "Go back online to receive orders from customers on Uber Eats" with a Restore button on the side, which when tapped showed "For assistance with your store's visibility issue, please contact us at the email address [merchants@uber.com](mailto:merchants@uber.com?subject=Request%20to%20restore%20visibility%20on%20Uber%20Eats&body=Hi%20Uber%20Eats%20Support%20Team%2C%20%0A%0AI%20wanted%20to%20%20request%20immediate%20assistance%20with%20my%20store%2C%20which%20is%20currently%20not%20visible%20on%20the%20Uber%20Eats%20platform.%0AAs%20my%20store%20is%20offline%2C%20customers%20are%20unable%20to%20find%20us%20or%20place%20orders.%20Request%20you%20please%20assist%20us%20in%20restoring%20its%20visibility%20so%20we%20can%20resume%20receiving%20orders.%20%0A%0A%0A1.%20ASMR%20SHAWARMA%2C%20615%20Opelika%20Road%2C%20Auburn%2C%20AL%2036830%2C%20US%0A%0A%0APlease%20let%20me%20know%20if%20any%20information%20or%20action%20is%20required%20from%20my%20end.%0AThank%20you%20for%20your%20attention%20to%20this%20matter.%0A%0AThanks%2C%20%0A%0AMohsin%20%0A) to send us an email directly." which i did email to, and they asked me to call a certain number 1-833-ASK-EATS ([1-833-275-3287](tel:(833)%20275-3287)) and an 1 > 3 extension option which doesn't even exist. Then I emailed them with all these snapshot evidences and then they ask me to call with extension 1 > 2 > 2 > 2 > 1 where as the option dies after 1 > 2 > 2 because that is support team and they cant entertain Merchant Onboarding requests. I have still spent over 6 hours with these back and forth and am unsure WTH to do anymore. My store is signed up so I dont need their signup link and the number gets me nowhere and I cant go live with my store.

USA At this point it’s my fault for still using this service.

I’m at the point now where I’ve been burned so many times that I’m fully admitting it’s my fault for going back to this service.

I use Uber quite frequently as I don’t currently have my own car, so it made sense for me to become an Uber One subscriber. Uber One also gives you a monthly credit for Uber Eats, so occasionally I’ll treat myself to an order. There’s been several times that I’ve been burned one way or another, but I still manage to convince myself that “it’ll be fine this time.”

Well today, my dasher put the food and drink directly in front of the front door of my apartment building. Another person in my building was leaving while I was on my way down to grab it, and of course they knocked the drink and bag over. The entire order was soaked in a huge puddle of root beer right in front of the door. Not their fault, there’s no way they could have seen it, but they were apologetic anyways and even offered me money, which I declined and assured them that it was the delivery person’s fault for putting it there.

Currently on my 4th transfer to another agent, and losing hope that I’ll be compensated for this even though my entire order was ruined.

It took entirely too long for me to finally learn my lesson, but this is the last time I use UberEats. For real this time.

What the actual hell?’

So I ordered a bottle of wine and some groceries on uber eats tonight and I go down to get it and the delivery driver needs a photo of ID.

While he’s taking the photo I don’t know if he pressed something or what happened but he says ‘oh the order has glitched, it’s been cancelled’.
So I say ‘well I definitely didn’t cancel it, can you still give it to me?’
And he explains that because the order is cancelled if he gives it to me they will take the money out of his pocket.
So I ask if we can call customer service. He calls and they tell him ‘sorry but there’s nothing we can do you must return the order!’

So this poor guy has to make TWO trips for zero money and I don’t get my order!

What the actual?!

I was so angry but not with the delivery driver obviously. And there’s no way I was going to take the order and risk him having to pay for it.

I tried to make a complaint on the app but it is SO frustrating! It’s all automated options and funnily enough they don’t have an option for ‘uber eats cancelled my delivery for NO reason’.

I had to just pick a random option and explain in the text the actual issue.
The order is still active and no refund as of yet.

Uber eats NEEDS some competition! If you want a last minute delivery then it seems to be the only option in Australia.

USA Deliveries delivered in random order...

Tonight when we ordered our dinner we could see the delivery driver on the main road to our house (1/2 mile away if that), made a U turn and the app changed from 'your the next stop' to the driver has another stop. We watched the driver go in the complete opposite direction, 15 mins away, from our house. Why was he not able to drop off the order when he was already so close to our home? I used to drive for Uber years ago and have had this happen to me when I was delivering food. It's such a waste of time and gas. I stopped working for Uber and worked for the competition doing rides. My question is why does Uber do this to their delivery drivers and customers?

Question: Unanswered Is customer support gone / is it all AI now? Completely broken support system past two weeks.

Starting two weeks ago, the wait time to speak to support shot up for me from 1 min to 9 min. And that new lengthy queue isn't even real; it's a farce--the 9 min queue always dies halfway with the app saying "did we resolve your issue?" (obviously not!), leaving me high and dry.

Beyond that, there's this cumbersome AI interface where a useless bot basically stonewalls ANY refund possibilities for blatantly wrong item deliveries. Two weeks ago, I was able to connect with humans and clearly convey that parsley was not cilantro and get appropriate customer support. Now, for the past two orders, support is COMPLETELY inaccessible.

Anyone else had a similar turn of events with the Uber Eats app? Any workarounds to this AI-powered hell?

Question: Unanswered Why do so many drivers steal food? and is there any real consequence.

Two days in a row I've had my food stolen, Like is there any real consequence to them doing this? And what possesses people to do it man? I'm more than generous with my tips the one last night I tipped $14 on a $30 order but man I'm so done with this app after having my texts and calls ignored then fighting with support trying to get a refund while watching the driver sit in the same spot for 30 minutes then drive past my house 3 times just to **** with me. I couldn't even place another order yesterday because they picked my food up at 7:50PM and marked it "delivered" at 5AM!!!!!! Told myself it was just one bad driver but nope happened again today.
