Well, this should be fun.

The Federal Workforce Early Separation Incentives Act (H.R. 7256) is currently advancing in Congress, which aims to update the buyout program for federal employees by removing the outdated $25,000 cap on Voluntary Separation Incentive Payments and allowing payments of up to six months of an employee's salary.

Who needs Fed employees? Just let the contractors run everything. They know what's best for everyone. They will do a good job so they can get more work in the future. Just look at how well they did the reflecting pool in DC.

Dam that’s wild. So people close to retirement that say want to retire this year could net an extra 6 months of pay to leave.

Corps can already offer up to $40k instead of the non-DoD max of $25k, but they very rarely do.Β  I'm not sure how much different this would really make things if passed.
