The absolute state of women's safety measures is infuriating. Following recent safety incidents in New Delhi—including assaults in public parks—local authorities and colleges have responded by tightening curfews for female students, banning women from parks after dark, and moving classes online.

Instead of actually policing criminals and fixing broken law-and-order, the brilliant solution is to turn women's hostels into prisons.

Restricting a woman’s freedom under the guise of "protection" is just institutional laziness. If the administration cannot make public spaces safe at night, they should put a curfew on the perpetrators committing the crimes and let the women walk free. Stop punishing the victims.

Don’t put a curfew on the perpetrators, fucking arrest them. Arrest the people that are committing crimes. Crazy statement in today’s world, I know.

I’d ask why they aren’t curfewing the men but it’s India so I know the answer.
