Discussion Trigger warning - tree mutilation

Obviously a row of coast redwoods should never have been planted so close to power lines, but jeez guys did you have to mutilate them so badly?

that's pretty much by the book especially after what must have been several years of not getting done?

Utility is a specialty type of pruning with its own objectives.

yup unfortunately... they did not outright kills the trees in the right of way - another photo showing the primary wire configuration could be helpful but looks like you may have 3PH up there?

Don’t plant under power lines. It’s really simple.

Yup, why plant a tree that wants to be 200ft tall under 20ft lines.

Yeah they did that to the redwood on my lot too. It's ugly with its flattop cut but it's still going something like 10 years later
