I am currently running a megalomaniac map, which made my framerate at times drop below 60 (it normally runs at 144).
So I chose the sensible way out and dropped from 4K to 2K resolution, fullscreen enabled.
But the game has other ideas. It does render it at 2K, but as a small image in the middle of the screen. I thought perhaps it had become windowed or borderless, so I used the alt+enter, and alas, that was not so.
My other games have no problem dropping resolution and going full screen, what am I missing?"
For reference, I am playing on a desktop (Ryzen 7950X3D, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 12GB VRAM 4070 Super, 4K 144Hz Display).
I started playing this week and created a large map on medium difficulty. Is it possible to have high-speed trains with these settings? Many videos say that on higher difficulty levels, high-speed trains are only worth it on larger maps.
I am doing the Mallorca mission in Chapter II and am on the part where I need to transport various things to the holiday homes. I did plastic and steel fine but for some reason I can't figure out why tools are not working.
I know the trains cannot transport tools so I am using boat + trucks.
I have cargo flights from Vienna to Palma (double checked, they are from the cargo terminals and are using flights that can carry tools).
The Palma airport is connected to a truck station, which is connected to a dock that has a ship going from it to another dock near S'Arenal. The ship on that route can carry tools.
From there, I have a truck station with a route going to an unload stop that is near to the holiday home in S'Arenal. I have double checked and both light up white in respective to their truck stops. I have also made sure the trucks on the route can carry tools.
I know that usually when something isn't getting produced, there is an issue with the chain. But I cannot figure out what, everything should work as it should. Am I missing something?
Why is this soooo toughhh????
As the title, I’ve been playing CS for a long time now and I’m pretty good at it.
Now recently with TF3 Coming up and TF2 being at a discount on steam, I purchased it and I thought why not start playing TF2 for a change.
Now this has made me spend hours at this game and scrolling through YT videos trying to figure out TRAINS!
Giving me a hard time yet I’m not bored of it or don’t wish to give up soon🥲😅.
Anyone with the same experience ? Or veterans just suggest me something to make my learning curve less steep!
Had a hassle squeezing a rail trunk between city and it's cargo port. But in the end, it seems i found a new (to me) style in making junctions. I wonder do you like it or feel it naive.
So, i had cargo network on ships and trams and it's time to upgrade to trains. Being limited in space i had to connect hub station to port, trams, and have enough space for the junction before the tram bridge, where IC passenger station takes up its own space.
Vanilla 8x320m cargo station with upper double track shortened to accomodate feeders. 2 inner platforms were narrowed to sqeeze in 2 bypass tracks. For mainline part, outer tracks (wide 320m platforms) are roro/one way, while inner 4 tracks (between bypasses) are reversible and can be assigned more dynamically.
The junction itself: 500m between station edge and the bridge (longest i ever built), planned as high speed (100-120) and allows few train movements simulteneously. Both lines can access bypass tracks and the inner double track, other tracks are accessible particially.
The trunk curves and narrows along the junction, following the corridor along the river and going from 8 tracks to two double track lines.
Started from lower bypass track, this created the general shape, then followed it with other tracks (except side ones). Got 6 parallel tracks aligned to lower bypass track, then added all crossovers, then side tracks, then needed signals, then less needed (2 way) signals.
Southern approach is simplier: built lower bypass track, then everything sticks to it.
Current cargo routing: 2 train lines (out of 5 minimum) already working with 500-800 rate each.
Hello I just picked up the game last week and was still having trouble creating shipping lines. No matter what I do I cant seem to assign a large ship to this route.
- Both ports have large cargo docks and the corresponding large cargo landing point.
- The whole area is green when I look at the navigable waters layout.
- I tried using the bouys to try and see if I could push the route into open ocean more to see if that would help but it hasn't
Started a new map after learning all my lessons from the past 2 saves. Now that I understand the concept of central hubs, feeling more comfortable with early game profits.
Hi all, I'm new to Transport Fever. Having seen the hype around the third game and the deep discount on the second, I decided to buy the latter because my computer is a bit shit and I've heard good things about it before.
Onto my question: I have a single-track railway line with the following layout
D--S-\
A--------S--B--S------C
D is the depot; A, B, and C are cargo stations; and S is a signal. I want to set up the railway line so that there are two routes, a train moving cargo from A to B and a train moving cargo from B to C, with signals to ensure that trains going to and from the depot only go there when there is no train between the depot junction and B, and the two train routes don't collide at B. I initially put a signal right before the junction, as well as on either side of B, but this did nothing to prevent my depot from releasing a train into the network to form the B-C service and block the A-B service while it was at B.
Note: I'm not asking if I should do this. I know it's probably just better to add a second platform. I'm asking if I can do this because I want to properly learn how the signals work in this game. I'm a railway engineer in real life and already know the signalling system in Factorio well, so any analogies or comparisons to either of those are welcome.
I have recently bought the game during the sales. I have never played nor watched any content of this series. I have good experience with Cities Skylines and played logistics games before but never in a modern setting. What should I expect? What are some criticial settings and mods that you'd say "I'd never play this game without"?
