Free Webtoon Loving Tap
Chapter 16. Urek considers this punch to be a love tap. It seems like it was a hard punch though. He might have been able to punch a hole in some walls with this

Pretty basic choice of songs but while I was reading his ark I couldn’t get “Creep” by Radiohead out of my head, to some degree in my opinion he fits the lyrics and vibe of the song. What do you think?

Hatz × Endorsi ❤️
Hatz × Khun 🟠
Hatz × Shibisu 🟠
Hatz × White 🟡
Hatz × Baam 🟠
Leyenda:
❤️ = Mi favorito
🟢 = Me gusta
🟡 = Me da igual it
🟠 = No me gusta

Yihwa is 14 y/o when choosen and 19 when she first met Viole. She failed to become a princess of Jahad, however she doesn't seem to have a dark past like Elaine/Kaiser.
Her childhood friend or aquintance before climbing, Ryua, is seemingly a normal girl who likes to gossip and is very caring of Yihwa, instead of encourage her to fight a slayer candidate she keep warned her not to fight him¹.
A woman she calls Mama is a wise person who teaches her that power should come with responsibilities.
So here's my theories:
Yihwa's parents didn't want her to become a princess but couldn't openly say so like in PB Tiara case². So they arranged her marriage with a ranker from a branch family of another great family⁴.
Maria's mother's family³ tricks Yihwa's parents to make the engagement.
______
¹. Usually they pursueing the other to do grandeur things, right?
². In Tiara case it must be Gustang's order.
³. Maria is older than Khun AA who is 3 years older than Yihwa, so I'm guessing it's related somehow, as i think Khul is a branch of Khun.
⁴. In ancient Chinese/Korean drama if the king hold concubine selection, any unmarried noble girl should particupate unless they're engaged to a nobleman.
A few days ago, i read an old post about the engagement and think about this. I'm bored so i make this post today. Feel free to disagree or add in more theories as you feel fit.

Yura was introduced in Season 2, Chapter 114. At first, she was a pretty mysterious character.
«"No...!! I said no!! I need it!! I can't live like this!! I don't need fans, fame, pretty clothes, or money!! What I really need is...!"»
Eventually, we discovered that what she wanted was her mother, who was in the Hidden Floor.
Her family history is quite tragic. Her mother belonged to the Ha Family, while her father was descended from those who betrayed the Ten Great Families and was affected by a curse that caused his children to be stillborn or born sick.
When her mother became pregnant, the Great Creator offered her a deal so that both twins could survive: she would give birth to the girl outside the Hidden Floor and the boy inside, where the curse could be broken.
And that's how Yura and her twin brother were born.
Yura lived happily with her mother in the Middle Area until rumors about a woman from the Ha Family giving birth to an extraordinary child reached the family, and they began hunting them down.
The last time Yura saw her mother, she gave her the mirror fragment and told her to find her in the Hidden Floor. However, her mother decided to turn herself in to the family and die.
Yura became famous to escape the Ha Family, but also because she hoped her mother would be able to see her.
I'm not going to explain the whole Hwang situation because this is already getting too long. If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask!
And that's Yura's story. However, in the most recent chapters, she seems to have more of a presence than an actual role in the story, accompanying Rachel while her desire for revenge against the Ten Great Families remains unresolved.
Do you think Yura will continue to develop as a character, or has her story reached its end?

She has almost no interiority. No real backstory, no clear personal goals beyond guide the Irregular so FUG’s wishes come true, and a personality that mostly boils down to smug smiles, cryptic lines, and I already saw the path.
She shows up when the plot needs a guide to move things forward, drops some info (or withholds it), then dips. Compare that to Evan, who at least has opinions and pushback. With Hwaryun it feels like SIU just needed a Guide who sticks close to Bam and never bothered to give her anything else.
Anyone else feel this way about her, or am I missing something?

Arie Hon, the strongest FL while much about him isn't known what we do know is that he is always alone. And guess who was alone too? Traumerei. Data Jahad also says talking about being alone.
Another interesting thing is All 3 seems to be control freaks. Jahad wants to control even fate. Traumerei we know wanted to control All of Creation. Meanwhile Hon might be about control of sword.
Besides another common point is that Traumerei follows Jahad. Interestingly, if we go by BP lore, Hon is also a follower of Jahad. Adori is already a die hard follower. I don't think all top 3 family will be anti Jahad. Like Yurin isn't happy with Jahad regarding Yuri. Edahn seems to be neutral given depending on his mood seems to take order from Jahad while also completely discarding it. The only remaining Hon should be pro Jahad.
Given Traumerei got a whole season and we know Jahad might also get a special treatment, is it far fetched to say Hon might also be treated specially?

Basically, I created an OC for ToG just to pass the time while waiting for the new season.
At first, it was fine, but because I’m a bit of a perfectionist—and the storyline wasn't fully fleshed out—I ended up with a character who had massive gaps in her background. Naturally, this made things really difficult for myself; I’d laid the groundwork for this OC about two years ago, only to have her backstory upended recently by the Urek spin-off (QAQ).
I’ve come up with a new version that’s arguably better than the old one, but those information gaps are really hard to fill. So, if anyone here has created an OC before or has any interesting insights, could you please drop them here for me to check out? I’m trying to build a solid storyline for my OC.
Btw, my OC is a Tower native; she climbed the Tower alongside the GW, much like Amizu. Her pairing is with Eduan (don't ask why—I like it that way, so I made it happen; honestly, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have created an OC at all). I dug around on Wiki and learned that the FH might have had children while climbing the Tower (?if I recall correctly), so I gave them a child together. As for the rest of the story... I'm a bit stuck; I’ve done some planning, but it’s all pretty vague because there’s just so little information available.

TOG has a ton of great chapters, but season 2, chapter 244, is individually one of my favorites. More than anything, this is the chapter where Baam finally tries to assert his independence from Rachel. Throughout the story, Rachel has attempted to keep in the dark, literally and figuratively. She’s withheld key information from him, telling him to stay away from the only person he ever knew and to stay in his cave, but never sitting him down and explaining why. Even when she does give him information, it’s incredibly vague in nature, intended to provoke his insecurities and make him chase her rather than actually give him closure. But chapter 244 is where Baam finally recognizes that and takes a stand. It turns out to be less effective than he would have hoped, but that simple act of independence is still a huge step forward for his maturation.
Up to this point in TOG, Baam has teetered in a bit of uncertainty. It's taken him a lot of time and work, but he's slowly come to realize that his former life with Rachel is something that he cannot and should not attempt to go back to. So, what should he do instead? Given the choice, he'd prefer to live in peace with his friends, but that simply can't happen in the current Tower. So, how does he come to understand his place in the world?

Well, the first step is the realization of the true nature of his relationship with Rachel. Baam cherished his time in the cave with her, which was natural, because he literally knew nothing else. However, his ignorance was by design, as Rachel intentionally kept him in the dark. She refused to tell him anything about life above his cave, instead convincing him that he didn't belong anywhere else.

This is a common theme for Rachel. She does the same thing (symbolically) when she pushes Baam to his "death" on Floor 2.

...and when she pushes him away from the Hell Train…

....and she even tries to pull the same trick during this chapter, trying to stop Baam from getting to the Thorn Fragment before she can.

But why is Rachel so determined to keep Baam down? Baam realizes the reason at the same time we do - Rachel has desired the Thorn, or more precisely the destiny that comes with it, “for ages.” At some point - presumably back in the Outside - Rachel learned about Arlene and her prophecy, and assumed all along that she would be the one to fulfill it. It’s why she was so frustrated when Baam passed the first floor test instead of her, why she made the deal with Headon, Hansung, and Hwaryun to push Baam to his “death,” and why she was so interested in becoming the “heroine.”

As an aside, what does the term “heroine/hero” mean to Rachel? The answer lies in Arlene’s prophecy: the hero is the person who will save the Tower from Jahad and “lead everyone in the tower to greater heights.”

And yet, Rachel couldn’t bring herself to tell Baam what she knows about Arlene and the prophecy, because by this point in the story, she probably knows that he’s “destined” to be the hero, not her. She’s still desperate to take that destiny for herself, and giving Baam the details of his purpose would push him even further ahead than he already was.
But now, finally, Baam has at least some of the information and context he always lacked. Rachel was the only person he ever knew, so how could he understand the inequality in their relationship? We knew, because SIU took the time to show us Rachel’s jealousy of Baam’s friendships early on in Season 1. At last, Baam can see it, too.

The place they were felt like paradise to him for so long only because she was the only thing he knew. However, now that he’s made friends, made his own choices, and had more opportunity to grow as a person, Baam can see how stunted he really was in that cave, kept in the dark both physically and mentally. He can never go back to that place of “innocence.”

The world is bigger than one person, and Baam has now seen both the evils in the tower and all the things worth saving. The Jahad Empire is subjugating the people of the tower, keeping them down and ignorant in the same way that Rachel did to him. And so, he makes a declaration: he’s going to try to create a better world, one where everyone can achieve their goals, rather than living according to one person’s ideals.
And yeah, it’s still a naive, idealistic, impractical goal, just as it’s a short-lived stand against Rachel. As Baam realizes in season 3, it’s impossible to make everyone happy. At the same time, Rachel intimates that she knows even more dirty secrets about Baam’s past, still preventing him from letting him go completely. But, even if it’s only a moral victory, it’s still great to see Baam stand up for himself. As talented and blessed as he is, Baam also knows what it’s like to be a powerless nothing. It’s why he loves his friends so much, and it’s how he knows the value of freedom.
Baam obviously grows even more throughout the rest of the story, and he and his friends still clearly have a long way to go. But chapter 244 is one of his greatest individual steps forward, and it’s one that I’ve always found admirable.

So far I am around the end of the cat tower and I got to see I hate it. It’s all battle battle battle flashbacks and the entire chapter is dedicated to characters that don’t matter in the long run battle battle battle. I mean it’s kinda happened in the first half of season two but at least then I cared and I loved it. The first half of season two was amazing.

We have heard Gussy drop the line on the Floor of Death that the only beings remotely comparable to UM are Jahad and the 10 Family Leaders. And this still stands.
From the spin off, we know UM is an Axis whose power is suppressed inside the tower due to shinsu. This reinforces that to Jahad, UM, and FLs, everyone else including shinies are essentially bugs.
The narrative parallels are impossible to ignore: Gussy talks about squashing bugs underfoot, Eduan literally stomps out Mago's gem, and Gussy himself is shown to casually stomp over Enkidu's remains. Even UM himself treats the shinies as mere small fries unlike to FLs or Jahad.
Even though shinies are irregulars themselves, they simply cannot bridge that supreme gap on their own. The only reason Mago could even pose a legitimate challenge to Edahn was because she tapped into UM's Light, without that outside power, she scales to TT level at best. This also explains why shinies haven't made massive waves across the main story despite being around for so long without a boost on UM's level, they lack the world breaking dominance.

Hello everyone, I've been a very big Tower of God fan since I was in my early teens but stopped reading around mid season 3 because of college stuff. Now that I have a stable income, I want to pick it up again and read back from season 1. Through research I've found that webtoon has released physicals of Tower of God in English, and I've heard pretty nasty reviews about it compared to other webtoon physical releases. I personally also doesn't like the covers very much, imo they should've stuck with the korean physical covers that looks absolutely majestic. So I want to ask, is it worth it? If you have the physicals (hardcover/paperback), please give me your thoughts on it!

r/TowerofGod • u/Outrageous_Bridge992 • 4d ago
First, let’s discuss the power of the god. In the story, this power is initially referred to as *shinsu* power, while in other instances, it is identified as the power of the Thorn (the power of the Outside God). My theory is that V’s suicide and Baam’s resurrection were a means to acquire the god’s power, given that even at the peak of their abilities, V and Arlene were unable to defeat Zahard.
The moments where V was repeatedly shown to us earlier had nothing to do with new powers appearing out of nowhere, but rather with the proper channeling of powers Baam already possessed. I would surmise that V, residing within Baam, has become something like a joystick or a navigator for his powers.
I’m not sure what Arlene did, but I attribute the phrase about them unleashing a long-buried calamity not to memories, but to something that had been sealed in the cave before Baam.
