I'm a saf first year wanting to become an accountant and it's only my first semester but I already am regretting this program 💔 my brother has accounting in high school right now and i help him with his work and honestly the more i do accounting, the more im realizing I don't like it as much and i just picked it because i liked it in high school. I don't like finance either and i know this program has finance too. i have 4 rn and still am so overwhelmed. im waiting for my qms130 midterm results but think I failed that shit so I'll drop😭 I don't know what to do. my mom really wants me to stay in this program and not transfer to bm (my plan lol) and i think the 1.5 hour long commute is fucking with me too

every time i go to the 10th floor of the library to study theres always this group of arabs its like 5 boys and 2 girls and they’re all flirting with each others and talking super loud and disturbing everyone like … why the library of all places???? 😭😭 its so annoying and they literally got told to shut up because people are trying to study several times but they wouldn’t stop. word of advice guys DONT BE LIKE THEM!!!!

Hey! For anyone who had Majed Alqasas for MTH 380 this summer or last semester/year, I’d really appreciate some brutally honest advice.

I’m feeling pretty behind in the course, and all I keep hearing is “study from the slides.” But how similar are the midterm and final to the examples he goes through in lectures?

I find the concepts hard so I'm trying to get use of just doing the practise problems he has on the slides.

I want to know if I practise every single lecture example until I understand or get the pattern on how to solve them, would that be enough to prepare for the exams? Or are the exam questions significantly different?

I’m trying to decide whether I should stick with the course or drop it, so any honest advice would really help. I’m asking specifically about his lecture examples, not textbook questions.

I'm currently in my 2nd year and I'm pretty lost in MTE301 mainly due to my lack of programming experience before CPS188, and I've already forgotten basically everything from that course. So I accidentally submitted the wrong amount of living costs for the budget information section on award spring. I know that I can edit the information, which I have, but I’m worried that since the application deadline for the awards I applied to ended a week ago, they will consider my old budget information and not my new one.
Does anyone know if this mistake will effect my applications for bursaries even if I’ve corrected the budget information now?

Over the past week or so, I’ve seen several posts here about hygiene on campus, and I wanted to add my experience. Since it’s reading week, this feels like a good time for a reminder before we’re all back in class.

We share classrooms, washrooms, and study spaces, so please be considerate of the people around you. Nobody is asking for expensive products or strong perfume. Showering regularly, wearing clean clothes, and using deodorant go a long way. Please give yourself enough time to get ready before class set that alarm a little earlier so you can shower AND catch your GO train.

It’s genuinely difficult to concentrate on a midterm when there’s strong BO coming from beside you. Some washroom stalls have also had an overwhelming fish-like smell. Whether that’s a facilities issue or something else, it makes those spaces unpleasant to use. And honestly, I’ve been around TMU Bold athletes who smell ten times fresher than some people sitting in lectures all day. Hockey, soccer, fencing, dance you’d expect people doing all that physical activity to be sweaty, yet somehow they’re still smelling better. The rest of us can make an effort too.

We won’t always know what someone is dealing with, but those of us who can take these steps should make the effort. This matters anywhere you share space with others, whether that’s classmates, roommates, or a partner.

Please, let’s do each other a favour and make campus more comfortable for everyone.
