Powers
In a world where death is common, actually killing this one character is actually challenging
Mitty from Me in Abyss: Mitty was cursed by the Abyss, rendering her immortal and stripping her humanity away. Only with the help of main protagonist Reg, was she able to rest.
Mina from Noita: Every enemy, every substance, every pixel tries to kill you. Dying in Noita is very easy .. until you get so many buffs that spells that one-shot everything do no effect on you. Locking the win and ending the run in this situation is quite the predicament.
Mansaku nijimura, father of keicho and okuyasu. He was working for dio who put a flesh bud in him to make sure he was loyal unfortunately when dio died the flesh bud mutated turning him into this creature and his sons have been trying to find a way to end his misery - source is Jojo's bizarre adventure
It's sad that Okuyasu has a very easy way to end it with his stand, but won't because as he explains, he doesn't know what happens to things he scrapes away. As easily as he could be erasing his dad to end his suffering, he could also just be teleporting him 500 miles north of where he originally was to regenerate and suffer alone.
Similar to your Noita example, Vampire Survivors is a game in which you'll die over and over and over again. However, once you've unlocked Endless Mode and get a really, really strong build, it becomes practically impossible to actually die. The game is more likely to crash because of all the particle effects
Versus is taking place in a world that was created by the merging of 13 worlds, each of them having their own threats. You got Robots fighting demons, lawless fighting parasite, alien not fighting anyone because they almost never leave their ship, and despite all of that, Gimbak, the chief of the titan, is still undefeated. (he has already win against 10 demon lords at the same time)
Undefeated and unscathed against that team up. Nyagoro is the only one who managed to put a scratch on him, and that was only when he fought alone using his ultimate spell.
The best feat of all Demon Lords so far is a cat putting a few scratches on Ginbak.
Delilah Briarwood (Critical Role). As a result of her relationship with the Whispered One and her own necromantic magic, she returns from death several times.
SCP-4514/“The Thing That Kills You" (The SCP Foundation)
Could be seen as an interesting reverse example.
SCP-4514 is a switchblade whose anomalous properties activate if it's used to:
Injure an individual such that they lose 40% of their blood
Injure an individual to cause significant damage to the brain
Injure an individual to cause significant damage to the heart
Injure an individual such that they are incapable of respiration
If an individual is injured by SCP-4514 in a way that activates its anomalous properties, they will die. The article specifies the cause as the cessation of neurological activity.
If you pay attention, you'll realize the description basically says it's a knife that will kills you if you’re fatally stabbed with it. That may make you wonder what makes it anomalous.
The answer is that the article takes place in the End of Death canon, a universe where people don't die anymore, no matter how old or injured they are. This knife is the only thing shown to still kill the way you'd normally expect.
On the other end, for a traditional scp example, SCP-682
The unkillable lizard is in fact, as far as we have seen, unkillable as it will adapt to anything done to it, and likely massacre anybody nearby for the trouble.
He and his friends pilot a powerful ancient super weapon called Taranis. So taking him out in a head on fight is dificult.
Every time Malt dies he can rewind time allowing him to undo his own death and the deaths of his friends. He can rewind a few minutes or a few months depending on what is required. And almost no one remembers the rewinds or knows about his power.
So killing him is pointless. He just learns more about you while you don't remember. And in an straight up fight he can beat anyone in his verse thanks to the Taranis and his friends. Also he is no quitter.
Seems the only way to win from what you've said is to basically capture them and make sure they can't kill themselves in an undisclosed cell for years so that even if he uses his ability, it would just have him back in the cell. Does anyone in the series actually learn about his ability or is it basically the equivalent of how a gameplay mechanic works with a splash of lore like how respawning works in the borderlands series?
Maestro knows about this power and Jeanne also learns about it but she is an ally. He actully kind of got in the situation you described. He was captured for months by somone unaware of his power and then killed once he served his purpose and he could not rewind far enough to avoid his capture. But eventully his little sister Mei awoke to the same powers but even more insane. She does not need to die to rewind time and she can travel to the past and take physical objects from the past in to the present. And sometimes she can even see the future without having to live through it first. While she had yet to fully understand and learn how to controll her power it helped Malts friends in his rescue.
I have honestly no idea how Maestro intendet to beat Malt and Mei.
