Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) False advertising

  1. The marketing makes it seem like the movie is about Austin (the unbreakable boy) who is autistic, but rather it's about his prick of a father who caused a drunk driving accident
  2. The talking kangaroo was included in all of the trailers and the main poster but was only a hallucination and was seen for like 30 seconds (Kangaroo Jack)

The famous Dead Island trailer that showed a family on holiday being torn apart by zombies with the whole trailer being in reverse which set the tone for the game being a very gritty and serious story. And then what actually came out was a lot more lighthearted and jokey (this was apparently because they’d hired a separate company to make the trailer without giving them too much detail on the game’s actual tone)

That trailer was a severe gut punch.. and what you got was basically was Dead Rising on an island, instead of a mall.. same kinda humour

Dont get me wrong, i love DR. It just i didnt go into DI expecting DR.. i went in expecting a L4D type of grittiness and actual dilemma scenarios like the trailer showed off.
