Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) False advertising

  1. The marketing makes it seem like the movie is about Austin (the unbreakable boy) who is autistic, but rather it's about his prick of a father who caused a drunk driving accident
  2. The talking kangaroo was included in all of the trailers and the main poster but was only a hallucination and was seen for like 30 seconds (Kangaroo Jack)

Transformers One (2024)

They advertised this movie as a kid’s movie that wouldn’t be for most audiences.

Instead they created one of the single best piece of Transformers media that everyone unanimously loved, but because of the advertising we will never get another Transformers One.

And rumor is right now that they're trying to reboot again by smashing One, Transformers 2007, and Bumblebee into one continuity despite them all heavily contradicting each other, and bringing back Bay of all people to direct. So if that's true then any kind of sequel to One would end up being forced to tie-in to that abomination of a movie. Fuck Paramount, man.

Close enough, welcome back aligned continuity

You could not get me to EVER believe One’s Megatron is the same Megatron as the Bayverse. Same with Bee. Optimus maybe, but that’s still stupid.

The director or whateverthefuckheis of Paramount tried to say that One is a PREQUEL TO 07. EVEN THOUGH NOT A SINGLE THING LINES UP. He said it most likely because he didn’t want to lose the bay fans 🤢

That's Lorenzo di Bonaventura, one of the producers. No doubt this shit is his brainchild. He's also the reason Rise of the Beasts was Bay-lite, he went and found a pushover newbie director and was giving him demands.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura also is on record as being glad he helped 'redesign' Cobra Commander because the original somehow reminded him of the KKK.

Yeah. The guy wearing the blue cloth mask with eyeholes somehow looked anything like the dudes cosplaying as dead Confederate ghosts with pointy heads.

You can hate the man and his movies but you can’t deny this franchise was at its peak in Bays hands.

I hated the trailers for Transformers One, because they were really annoying.

Now I hate them for being bad marketing.

Bit of a oxymoron here. Kids movies appeal to most audiences.
