Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) False advertising

  1. The marketing makes it seem like the movie is about Austin (the unbreakable boy) who is autistic, but rather it's about his prick of a father who caused a drunk driving accident
  2. The talking kangaroo was included in all of the trailers and the main poster but was only a hallucination and was seen for like 30 seconds (Kangaroo Jack)

Jurassic World Dominion

We were promised to see dinosaurs screwing over the ecosystem and being the center issue of the movie

What we actually got:

  • Dinos aren't really an issue and only a few TikTok videos of them interacting with modern world
  • The actual central point of the movie - genetically modified locusts eating crops so Biosyn can get rich. That's it.

God I hated this movie

This is where I lost all interest in watching the Jurassic movies, still love the franchise but have no interest in watching anymore movies that come out

Rebirth's way better than Dominion and Fallen Kingdom imo.

It has problems, but it's a fun ride to go through.

The problem is that I don't know where the franchise can go from there. They've already done the "dinos on earth plot" and closed it off, and now all the dinosaurs are mostly dead. What is the next plot?

I am still of the opinion that after the first Jurassic World they should have gone down a Planet of the Apes route.

Alongside the dinosaurs an ancient virus DNA-strain was accidentally also resurrected (this was an idea once brought up in the videogames). The dinosaurs are immune to it since it’s from their time but modern mammals, including humans, aren’t and so it leads to a mass pandemic. Each sequel we see civilization collapse more and more while the dinosaurs are spreading out into the emptied space, until it inevitably becomes their planet again.

Have the dinosaurs re-adapt to the Earth and spread out a second time but better adapted. Also an excuse to make the dinosaurs look more accurate, although there's room for some of them to double down on looking more like monsters (Ex. There's both the more accurate carnotaurus AND the Lost World carnotaurus that even has a somewhat longer tongue) due to their hybrid origin.

Rebirth with the life raft bait and switch?

they should have left it at two movies.. and even then Lost World was funky..

The Lost World is great, JP3 is meh its not perfect but still a fun movie

Jurassic World is awesome imo, it was great reboot to the series and a great way to take things back to square 1, as for JWFK its alright but not the best its a fun dino movie but thats it

A big positive to come out of the movie franchise are the JW Evolution games where you can build your own park. If the movies don’t appeal to me anymore I still have JWE 3

But we had Operation Genesis before the JWE games, and in a lot of ways they feel like a sort of step back from Operation Genesis! Augh!

Now this is an excellent take.

I LOVED this movie. I don't think it's good, far from it, it's awful. But it's really, really funny
