Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) False advertising

  1. The marketing makes it seem like the movie is about Austin (the unbreakable boy) who is autistic, but rather it's about his prick of a father who caused a drunk driving accident
  2. The talking kangaroo was included in all of the trailers and the main poster but was only a hallucination and was seen for like 30 seconds (Kangaroo Jack)

Downsizing.

Advertised as a funny movie about shrink ray technology, seemed like it was going to be a "Honey I shrunk the Town" type of situation.

Nah, ended up being a drama mostly about weath inequality and climate change for some reason, to the point where the premise of the characters being really small basically had no effect on the plot except for a few jokes about things being bigger than you would expect.

And a lot of product placement for Olive Garden.
