Imo invincible has a good take on the no kill rule.

Like, Mark tries not to kill everyone he sees, but if you keep coming back after him and his family or just causing a lot of pain to everyone, he will kill you.

Something I love about it is how he nearly murders Dinosaurus, who was human at the time, completely innocent, and also hadn't done anything that bad yet

It shows that Mark was about to snap, and then he does, his first kill being a completely innocent person who did nothing wrong
