Comic Book Robert “Glob” Herman (X-Men/Marvel Comics)

I just love when X-Men show off creative mutations like this! His skin & all parts of his body barring his bones & base organs have been replaced with a highly durable & flame resistant wax like substance that leaves them visible. Even when his face is just a skull & eyes he’s still very expressive!

I would definitely say a lot simple yet effective design mainly because it's just skeleton covered in slime but the only organs being the eyes

He'll probably get a villain for a girlfriend in the future.

i alway's wondered if he could control the position of his eyeball on his face, it bother me at night, but yeah one of the coolest mutant design period

side note but who's that ?

That’s Shark Girl. She’s also a fun character, she was a part of the whole issue that revolved around the famous “turn people into dinosaurs” issue!

thats cool, thanks ! (should have guessed she'd be called shark girl to be fair)

That Quentin Quire pannel is right, he was such a monster in New X-Men. It's so funny how he has changed.

This is the type of guy Storm and Wolverine would lecture about how you don’t need a cure and being a mutant is a gift.

Storm? Maybe wolverine has experience with weapon x

Storm hit the mutant genetic lottery, looking like a supermodel with amazing powers and worshipped like a goddess, comes off as rude/insensitive telling kids with no skin or with painful mutations they don’t need a cure.

Iirc, there's one kid in the comics whose mutation resulted in their being just a brain, a nervous system, and MAYBE a skull. There's another kid whose power is that he can explode, but doesn't have immunity to his explosions, nor does he have a healing factor to come back from going boom.

Honestly makes me wonder how many people would want an X-Men run where a handful of mutants with objectively horrible mutant abilities end up having to save the day for some reason or another. Whether they receive alterations to their powers to make them less... horrendous would be up to the author, and I can see it leaning either way.

That girl was No-girl, and it wasn’t her mutation that made her a brain in a jar. It was the leader of the U-men a group of human who were hunting down and grafting Mutant body parts onto themselves. The leader, John Sublime, found a young mutant that could create a psychic buzz that stymied telepaths as powerful as Emma Frost. He then cut away everything that wasn’t necessary. After rescuing her, the X-men stuck her in the remedial class and left her like that until the Krakoa era. He’s a piece of shit, and the X-men are only a few steps behind him considering that they really dragged their feet when fixing the issue.

Reminds me of a comic where storm was threatening a doctor for not helping, and the doctor talked about how he has helped mutants his whole life but won’t help the X-men because they are bad people.

He looks so wholesome! :D

He was once part of an evil mutant supremacist gang but nowadays he is very wholesome:)

u/Diomedes42 1d ago

though he is somehow a Vampire in Midnight X-Men. I say somehow because I'm honestly not sure how he got turned if he doesn't really have blood

9

u/Either-Skirt6031 1d ago

Maybe he’s made of blood plasma instead of whatever waxy substance he has?

9

u/Diomedes42 1d ago

that, or he got turned into a vampire before his mutation activated

u/bottomofthewell3 I like anything that is cool as heck 21h ago

Wonder how that works. From what I can tell so far, it seems implied the majority of the Empyres in issue one got turned after manifesting their mutations and becoming part of the X-Men, rather than the other way around- does vampirism at all alter nascent mutant genes, do you think?

Never cared for X-Men all that much compared to the other big Marvel properties, but I’d gladly read through every issue this guy appears in simply because i think he looks really funny.

and he’s pink, I love pink!
