Show and Tell Loving the ruffles on my Zapotecs, the slices look like autumn leaves
My first time growing them and they’ve taken ages to get to full size and ripeness, which has been good in some ways because I‘m now eating tomatoes in October. They weren’t part of the summer salads of my dreams however. Anyone else had luck with this variety?

Tomato powder so far
Took all day (with breaks-i need a bigger grinder) but I've ground all my dehydrated tomatoes. I have dehydrated all my extra tomatoes which is a lot and for the next few days I'll have more coming off the vine for the season so maybe a container or two more is in the works. I do this because it's easy and versatile and I needed more ways to keep tomatoes good besides the freezer and hardly have the time to can.

Show and Tell Holy tomatoes!
Picked the remaining mature tomatoes before the first frost, and holy cow is it a ton!!! After last year’s sad harvest I didn’t know what to expect this year but it was abundance, abundance, abundance! I need to find more sauce recipes and other recipes for them 🤣. My favourites are curry, shakshuka, pasta sauce, and pizza sauce. What are your favourite recipes to use for your tomatoes?
Also, I have yet to try fried green tomatoes or green tomato chutney because I’m apprehensive about the flavour, for those of you who have tried either, what does it taste like? How do they compare to ripe tomatoes, or other flavour profiles?

Question Looking for Tips on How to Grow Tomatoes In This Contraption
I just put this indoor greenhouse together, and plan to try to grow tomatoes in it, starting tomorrow. I got some pots, and plan to try to grow three Tiny Tim micro-dwarf plants on each of the top two shelves (I figure the bottom two shelves I can reserve for seedlings). The instructions were pretty useless, so if anyone has used something like this successfully to grow tomatoes, I have a bunch of questions:
What are the different colored lights for? There is pink, blue and white.
How bright should the lights be when planting seeds? Should that change as they grow?
The lights come with a timer. How many hours of light should I set it for initially, and later?
Do I need to put a fan in there? On each shelf?
Should I monitor the temperature, and if so, what should I be looking for?
Any other tips or things to look out for would be greatly appreciated!

Mail order plants.
I got a pair of purple Cherokee and a pair of yellow cherry tomatoes from Bonnie Plants. One of the yellow cherry tomato plants arrived in a very poor state. From the picture you can see that its main stem has been snapped. I'm thinking of maybe tying the other stem to the main stem with some gardening Velcro. Any other tips on how I can get this to survive?

Question A bunch
The last one on the first bunch of this accidental plant finally started to blush. There's lots more waiting but it looks like this Saturday is freezing. Any suggestions to use all these green grape tomatoes?

Show and Tell First frost tonight, so it’s the annual “strip the garden” day at my house.
I got exactly one ripe slicing tomato this year, and it was almost physically painful to pick all of these. 😭

Plant Help Tomato issues
This tomato plant is having branches turn yellow and then dry up and fall off. I thought it was over watering but it’s drying out in between watering. I’m not sure what this is. I’m in Texas 9B
I gave it tomato tone a few weeks ago and fish fert yesterday.
Any ideas??

Question Sweet Scarlet Dwarf?
Is this a Sweet Scarlet dwarf tomato? The foliage has the crinkled rugosa look, but I expected a much larger beefsteak type tomato.
This is what I expected:

Plant Help Dirtyish wilting to crispy leaves
They then proceed to fall off. Are they just old? Looks like a dark powdery stuff not really a pest

Show and Tell Oven-roasted green tomatoes
My “San Marzano style” romas, grown in two five-gallon buckets on my sunny deck, made it to the October tail-end of my growing season. I ripened many of the late stragglers indoors - but some simply would not turn red, of course. So I decided to oven-roast them all anyway. The green have a slightly more tart flavor. I call this success. Will use for bruschetta and pasta sauces in the next week.

Our tomato plants are confused by the pop of 90 degree days here and are still producing
The past few weeks of warm-mild-warm-mild have made my plants the happiest I’ve seen them all season lol. They are enjoying the prolonged warm weather and trying their gosh darned ~best~ to keep going as long as possible, it seems.
This is a mix of cherries, currants, better bush, and maybe purple cherokees, Jennie’s or Donna’s? (I got lazy about pruning for like 2 weeks in July and ever since then it’s been an intercrossing jungle that’s made it hard to tell which plant is which.)
Bonus: the split tomato that made me and my husband giggle. We love big (tomato) butts and we cannot lie.
