Legolas Greenleaf by me
Tried drawing Legolas, I think it turned out okay. Still practicing drawing realistic.

I've loved the space-themed ceramic art of Amy Rae Hill (https://amyraehill.com/) for a long time. For my 50th birthday I had the idea to commission a piece illustrating the Awakening of the Elves from the Silmarillion. It's everything I could have hoped for! The commission process was great, and honestly she should charge more.
I'd never commissioned art before: Amy was patient and collaborative as I shared descriptions drawn from multiple Tolkien books (I collected every description I could find, though I only sent her a condensed overview) and my own vaguely-imagined sketch. I told her I'd absolutely trust her vision to interpret it her way, she produced as beautiful a rendition of this moment as I've ever seen, and now I get to have it in my house!
(There's a bit of glare on the glaze of the bowl in the photos: it's hard to photograph pottery perfectly when it's a night scene on a curved object. But oh, it's beautiful.)

This is the style I usually draw in. It’s very simplistic.
