Be honest: what's the one thing no body tells you about tiny living until you actually live it?

We all see the aesthetatic Youtube tours and Instagram builds, but what's the actual hardest part 6months in ?

For me was the storage limits and the moisture, what about you guys?

Open staires look clean, but would you replace them with storage stairs in this layout?

THOW Transport Recommendations

Hello! We have a THOW that we are looking to move from Idaho to Montana. I got quotes from three different companies and the lowest quote was from Showroom Transport. Does anyone have any experience with them? We are on a tight budget for this move so I was going to go with them, but I am open to other options as well (that fit our budget, or close to). Thanks in advance!

What is one layout choice, appliance or item you were convinced you need, but ended up regretting or removing?

Day 1 in my van! Glad this sub is back :)

My partner and I are currently moving into our van, a 2014 Sprinter. So far we've realized we have zero woodworking or sewing skills, have failed to park in a good spot to charge the solar panel, and overall have zero idea what we're doing. But we are so excited to learn and challenge ourselves!

If anyone has any tips for building a wooden couch bed with slide out for bed conversion, I'd love some tips 😅

Millennial Tiny House (by Build Tiny) in Katikati, New Zealand

Build Tiny are proud to be presenting their prototype Tiny House – The Millennial – this modern home is unlike any Tiny Home you’ve seen. It’s extremely light and open, and just 7.2 x 2.4m (meeting all NZTA requirements for a light trailer).

Wall shelving for a small space.

Hello ladies and gents.

I'm about to move to an apartment that's a bit short of 300 sq ft. I know that's a lot larger than what a lot of people here are working with, but I could still use some advice on how to properly utilize the space. I have a few pieces of furniture that are traveling with me that need to find a home, so specifically I am looking for suggestions on nice-looking (wooden?) shelving that can be installed onto cinder/breezeblock walls, perhaps in a corner. I kind of dig the cantilever-looking wooden shelving that I've seen in some newer apartments.

I would also appreciate any other decoration tips on making a grey concrete hole look cozy.

Establishing Residency in a New State.

Long story short, SO and I bought a new Micro Minnie and will be living in it for the next two years on someone's property in Texas.

I'd like to take advantage of the state's no income tax, and pretty sure I need to establish residency to do so.

Is a P.O. Box good enough? What other ways can I prove I live in Texas? Drivers license? Would that require a home address? I am not able to use the address of the property we will be living on.

I feel like this may be a common challenge for tiny/off grid living. Any insight would be appreciated. Hope this is the right sub for this type of inquiry.

Conversion

Hey y'all. I am in the beginning stages of planning to move into a tiny living space. There will be 2 adults, 3 cats, and 1 small dog in our home. I would really love to tour different structures to maybe get an idea of what to build. I'm feeling completely lost about building and unsure how to decide what to build. I want to move into a THOW, bus conversion, van conversion, ambulance, ETC.

How did some of y'all decide what to build? Being mobile is important to us. Any advice regarding how to decide what we should build is welcome.

Thank you.
