Discussion The nature of space & time

You know that the past exists, or at least existed. You know that the future exists, or at least will exist. Then, without the consideration of space & time, there is only one moment.

We have limited awareness of past & future. Space & time are a limit of the mind(awareness).

Physicists will tell you that this is only the psychology of space and time. To them you should ask: "Is there a peer reviewed and accepted paper of what the nature of space & time is? Who discovered it?"

Discussion Conhecia uma mulher que não existe

Non-fiction Déjà Vu & Henri Bergson's Dark Metaphysics of Time

Thumbnail

The central idea explored in this video is Bergson’s claim that the present does not first exist and then subsequently become the past. Rather, every moment divides as it occurs: on one side into the actual perception through which we act toward the future, and on the other into a virtual memory of that very same present. In this sense, the present is already becoming past at the same moment that it is present.

Déjà vu provides Bergson with an unusual way of approaching this problem. Ordinarily, the memory produced alongside the present remains unconscious because our attention is directed toward action and what comes next. During déjà vu, however, Bergson argues that this “memory of the present” momentarily becomes conscious alongside perception. Because it already bears the character of memory, the present then appears as something that has already happened despite there being no earlier event to which the experience can be chronologically referred. I use déjà vu as a case study for the broader metaphysical question of how the present passes—and whether past and present are really related in the sequential way we ordinarily imagine them to be

Discussion Time as a form of escapism

I never realized it until very recently, but time has become a sort of escapism for me. When something goes wrong, I think to myself, "bad times are never forever," or, "it'll heal with time." If I saw something depressing, I would imagine it slowly eroding away and being replaced with happier times. When confronted with things like war, racism, misogyny, ableism, I think of how these ideas are now considered "out-dated" and that while they still live, we've now learned so much more and that in the future we'll do far better. Time is nothing if not a circle. I only have to wait until it goes around the right way... What was temporary became optional, in a way! It was only a short escape with the visage of peace. I tried to conduct myself as if I'd lived lifetimes and that I knew better, when I've really barely lived little more than a decade and a half. In fact, can it even be called living if my only focus was making the time pass until mine was up?

I think it's really important not to get too caught up in these concepts of temporaries or permanence. Instead of turning only to the past, revolve around the past, future, and present. It's better to accept what life brings to you and use it to grow, instead of trying to let it pass.

Non-fiction Seeing repeating 11:11/:11 decoded. A prophetic manifestation and message from the Holy Spirit in the last days

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" Acts 2:17

For the last several years I have been experiencing what has been called the 11:11 phenomenon, being unconsciously drawn to look at the clock at that time and/or :11 after the hour daily. I eventually found out others are also experiencing this. These are a few resources and scriptures I've come across since that resonate with my experience and explains the crucial message behind it.

Eleventh Hour Workers

  • "Many people from all walks of life have begun to see 11:11 in various places, especially on their digital clocks, phones, and computers. As this begins to happen more frequently, many of us may begin to ask ourselves “What does this mean?” and “Why am I seeing this now?” "This synchronicity usually provokes the person who is noticing this phenomenon to search for answers or to feel they are being guided by angels or a supernatural force. Because people can begin to wake in the night to see some of these number combinations, it is also linked to being a “wake up call.” - omtimes-1111-biblical-prophecy-11th-hour-workers
  • "The term "Eleventh Hour" is often used metaphorically to describe a last-minute opportunity or a critical moment just before a deadline. This concept finds its roots in the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16), as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew. The phrase has since permeated Christian thought and culture, symbolizing God's grace and the urgency of repentance and salvation." - biblehub-the_eleventh_hour

This began to make sense for me as this experience has coincided with being drawn to discovering the following which confirmed my faith.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Prophecy is about 1/4 of the Bible letting us know what will happen in the future. Jesus stated in John 14:29;

"And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe."

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" Acts 2:17

This website Are we living in the end times? | GotQuestions.org, as well as many others that can be found online, are covering an extensive list of last days bible prophecies coming to pass, a time foretold to include various and increasing calamities, plagues, moral decline, and wars/famines/pestilences/earthquakes in various places, but what is recognized as the number 1 defining event/sign unlike any other time in history is what Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24:32-34, the parable of the fig tree.

The Mystery of Israel the Fig Tree | An End-Time Sign

"Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his (Jesus Christ) return is very near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place." Matthew 24:32-34

Israel, Jesus' heritage, is known to be nationally, ethnically, and geographically represented as the Fig Tree. Their rebirth as a nation in 1948 after nearly 2000 years and the many biblical prophecies coming to pass is recognized as the meaning of the parable. Israel turned 78 years old May 14, 2026, at the end of a generational period. Psalm 90:10 states: "Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away." From all indications it appears that we are living at the end of "this generation" that shall not pass. More detailed information: http://www.end-times-bible-prophecy.com/rebirth-of-israel.html

Discussion Why do we call a moment of time a second?

If something is delayed a second, that means one unit of time...but second also can mean two, like second place or second base. I might research why they decided to call it a second, or might not, it all depends on my time management. So, I just thought of it and I might ponder it for a few...seconds, lol.

Article Mind and Matter Unite if Time Potentials Activate as “Experience”

“Whilst a fundamental dichotomy between mind and matter is readily accepted by large segments of the population… philosophy has historically attempted (erroneously) to explain one member of the dichotomy in terms of the other.”  Bernardo Kastrup, The Idea of the World (2019)

To date, no generally accepted explanation of what we mean by “reality” has been found in either mind or matter.  “Virtual roads of time” suggests that this dichotomy disappears if our experience of reality arises within a “virtual” world of potentials.  There, the important distinction is between inactive and active, “virtual” events and “actual” experience—and these are two sides of a coin.

VRT applies the word “real” to both virtuals and actuals (and for that matter, even to “ideas”) because the virtuals have real effects upon “physically happening” experience.  And of course, experience is all we know—there’s nothing else.  Confusion arises when we imagine viewing “reality” from outside of experience, assuming that the two “views” are different worlds—but they are the same.

Time is very real in VRT, even though it is “merely” a travel experience of our minds, in which we act as “participant observers” across a vast landscape of potential happenings.  If “experience” seems unreal, just kick the proverbial rock and then consider whether the rock is “more real” than your sore toe!  Yes, you can find it later and kick it again—but if you do, the sore toe will also reappear.

VRT is more than a “philosophy of time,” because it not only brings human experience into “physical reality,” but in a sense makes it the foundation of reality.  But be careful—this isn’t the same as saying that reality only exists in the mind.  Mind could not exist without a world of potential experiences, and the merely potential could never come into actual existence without active minds.

“There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophy.”  If VRT is right, the “reality” we know is our socially confirmed experience of the “coming into actuality” of potential events—of which there may be literally unlimited numbers, “out there.”

Just hypothetically if we could go back in time to before MJK made the viral video about "tipping nonhumans", is there a timeline where there is no connection between the two at all? And if so how would this affect the current shell shocker's community? Just out of curiousity.

Discussion What If Spacetime and the Laws of Physics Are Emergent

What If Spacetime and the Laws of Physics Are Emergent?

I've been developing a speculative theoretical framework called RUFT (Relational Universe Framework Theory), investigating whether physical reality can emerge from a more fundamental structure of distinguishable relationships.

The central hypothesis is that space, time, matter, and physical laws may not be fundamental, but instead arise from stable patterns of information-preserving interactions.

  1. Distinguishability as a Foundation

Two physical states are operationally distinct only if some possible interaction can distinguish them.

This suggests that physical identity may be fundamentally relational rather than spatial.

  1. Emergence of Spacetime

RUFT proposes that stable information transfer and persistent relational records could generate effective causal ordering and locality without assuming an underlying spacetime geometry.

Under this hypothesis, space and time emerge from the organization of relationships rather than existing as fundamental backgrounds.

  1. Physical Laws as Stable Structures

The deeper hypothesis is that physical laws may correspond to robust mathematical structures that remain stable under relational dynamics and coarse-graining.

Rather than assuming geometry and causality, RUFT attempts to investigate their emergence from more primitive constraints.

  1. The Fundamental Question

If physical reality emerges from distinguishable relationships, what determines which relationships are physically realizable?

Could consistency, composability, and information preservation constrain the possible laws of nature?

The ultimate question is whether the structure of physical reality can be derived rather than assumed.

RUFT remains speculative. The next step is computationally testing whether locality, causal structure, and effective dimensionality emerge from initially non-spatial relational networks.

I'm interested in criticism from researchers familiar with quantum foundations, causal sets, information theory, and emergent spacetime.

Discussion Unexpected quirk of hypothetically halting time

I must begin by saying I think time is a human construct. It was created as a means of organisation. However, because this construct is sear-griddled into our psyche from birth, many people think it is a tangible phenomenon.

Things change, that's all. The past no longer exists, except as light. And there is no arrow of time.

I will now reveal the actual point of my post: I read that if it were indeed possible to stop time, you wouldn't be able to breathe or possibly even see! This is because air molecules and photons would stop moving. I don't entirely know why I've never considered that before.

Earth has started breaking its own rules, and nobody can fully explain why.

Why did one extra second freeze servers around the world? How is the Moon stealing time from every single day? Why did a day last only 18 hours 1.4 billion years ago? And why, since 2020, has Earth suddenly been spinning faster?

Have you ever looked up a movie you remember seeing in theaters, only to discover it came out ten years ago?

Recent research suggests that memory may play a role in how quickly we perceive past years to have passed, although the exact mechanisms are still unclear.

Some researchers have explored whether forming new memories affects our sense of time, while others have investigated whether it depends on how many past experiences we can recall.

However, recent findings suggest that simply remembering more events doesn't explain why the years seem to fly by.

What's your theory?

Discussion We create the universe using a time machine and even live long enough to create the spiritual realms using technology

We could create life by going backwards in time with our seeds of life

We then can spend forever trying to figure out how to create the universe

Then we can take a really long time to figure out how to create the spiritual realms. Technology that broadcasts across the universe and digitalizes your minds and bodies. Technology far more developed than what we could create today.

....

This could be a group effort with alien races.

Each alien race could then go backwards in time to enhance themselves smart, followed by seeding their home planets with life.

We have to have a limit to how many universe lifespans each race can live.

We would also have to allow 1 to 3 races that can continue on infinity times the lifespan of the universe where they might create the universe and spiritual realms.

....

We also can't get mad at the creator for creating life if they created after they have been created. If it's already created there's no other way to escape the blame for its creation. The creators were already created where they too did not give consent to being alive.
