I know quite a few new Thunderbird themes have come out lately, and I love seeing that. Thunderbird is a really good mail client, the design was just always what kept me from using it.

So I built my own: a full redesign plus a small companion extension. I took the cleanliness of Apple Mail as the model, but wanted it to have its own character too, like the softly coloured spaces bar. It covers the whole app, not just the mail view, and the extension adds things like sender pictures, message previews and a merged address book. Dark mode works as well.

So far it's only tested on macOS.

Would anyone actually use something like this? If there's interest, I'd clean it up and publish it.

Just out of curiosity, is there anything planned to improve TB search? Usually I find what I'm looking for, but sometimes it's not easy at all. For instance, support for quoted search would be a big improvement.

When I search for emails with ctrl + k, for example emails from person@gmail.com, it doesn't find any match.

However, if I go in my inbox and use filters with ctrl + maj + k to filter messages from person@gmail.com, then the email show up !

This was an issue for me across several devices, several accounts. The only link between them being that they were smtp accounts.

Is this a known issue ? Because it really is quite annoying !

OK so I know this add on had been abandoned but Just today I saw in the add-ons it no longer had a notice saying no longer maintained. So I added it but is does not work. Is this still an abandoned add on and if so does anyone have a recommendation on an alternative.

I saw there was a Github patch for Shrunked but could not figure out how to make that work back when I tried it.
