Was scrolling when this live stream from the Salvation Army came up…. Apparently they are taking the good stuff like higher end brands and stuff with tags and instead of putting it on their sales floors they are auctioning it off online. I saw multiple things go for 20+ dollars before I got blocked for saying this isn’t what thrifting is supposed to be about.

when I said I would have no problem reporting it to the health department he told me no need for threats. like dude, that wasn't a threat that was a fact?? he pretended like he didn't know what he was looking at (probably true) but I told him we still have to look at what we are putting out. like pay attention right? he was dumbfounded. am I wrong here? 😭☠️

I was hoping that the prices would stay low for some items, especially since it’s a cash only store. But then I saw these two pairs of shoes and knew all hope was lost. A pair of fashion nova shoes for probably the same price as they were new. And this gross piece of plastic that should’ve been thrown out for $10.

Pretty sure they’re from like 2008 too

First time posting in this group but this gave me a chuckle

Savers had multiple meh-condition Barbie’s/dolls.

Goodwill wants $8.99 for something that cost $7.99 NEW at TJ Maxx!

Apparently, buying secondhand now comes with a $1 premium. 😂

Spotted this at Goodwill today. They didn't even bother removing the original retail sticker. Make it make sense!

Only $2.99

I have a chain of stores in my area that is basically masquerading as a thrift store to get merchandise for free to sell for prices like this…it feels criminal. this tee is so fake it doesn’t even have the brands name on the tag, thrift stores that sell items like this at these prices do more to harm to the second hand clothing industry than resellers do. Sure you have to pay rent, and employees….but when does it end? You get tax breaks from being a “non profit” this chain has opened multiple stores in 2 years so they’re clearly making a lot of money, are we just doomed to see stores like this get away with scamming random people like this?

Had to rant a bit TLDR - for profit thrift stores selling fake tees for insane prices

$5.99 for an empty Patrón tequila bottle. I don’t even know what else to say. Spotted at Goodwill.

This is insanity. This is a medium sized Midwestern city, the cost of living is not super high. And this outdated dvd/vhs shelf is priced at $74.99!!! There was a matching one next to it for the same price!

I doubt these cost that much new.

I thrift a lot and have seen prices rise, but this shocked me.

I found some other work pants at the same store at decent prices but this was frustrating to see.

I told them that the main component was missing. They then proceeded to just stare at me and put it back into the case. Value village in Edmonton. Alberta. Actual horrible location.
