Other I’ve just watch the 3 seasons, for me, the best sci-fi show ever.
I’ve watched a lot of sci-fi shows, it’s one of my favourite genres, but this one hits the spot.
The jokes, the strange situations, the cool characters, the sci-fi elements that makes your head spin. It’s all there.
It’s one of those that I can’t even point out the inconsistencies. It’s art.
I hope there will be a season 4, even 5, 6, 7 etc… but if stays here, no worries, it’s what it is. And the job done it’s a really good job. Congratulations to Seth and all the cast. It made me laugh and cry.

Question The French grocery store fridge hackers make me think of the Krill episode.
Why would the fridge be programmable to get so hot?
Why would the lights in the ship be able to reach a lethal brightness?

Image [UPDATE] I 3D printed the custom Orville miniatures from my last post! (Krill, Kaylon & Yaphit)
Hey everyone! A couple of months ago, I shared my 3D models for some custom The Orville miniatures. I finally got around to resin printing them, and I wanted to show you the results!
- The Krill: These came out excellent! Really happy with the details.
- The Kaylons: As you can see in the photos, they are having some printing defects. I’m going to readjust the settings/supports and try printing them again soon.
- Yaphit: My absolute favorites! Both the idle version and the one holding the weapon turned out amazing. It’s even better because Dr. Claire's card already includes him.
What do you guys think? Once I fix the Kaylons, I'll update you all again!

Other Fandango @ Home sale
Each season is $9.99. Best price I ever seen.
I know physical media's better but they're only DVD. If you can afford both, I'd recommend getting the discs AND Fandango for the HD presentation. If you can only get one... that's up to you; I can't suggest blindly, just share news I think is important 😊
Watch "The Orville [TV Series]" on Fandango: https://athome.fandango.com/content/browse/details/The+Orville+%5BTV+Series%5D/885389?cid=share&scid=android&kwid=885389

Theory Jeez, Sorry if This Has Been Said Before, But I'm a Newb to it.
This is one of the funniest, most ridiculous things that I've ever seen, that still manages to have decent story lines that still pull on your heart strings. Even the score is top class with nods to the obvious ones but also Alien and other Hollywood Sci-Fi greats.
I was surprised to see Seabass from Justified in a lead and comical roll in it. From utter bastard to a piss taking genius.
I bet they had a blast making it.
I'm up to S01E10.

Other Just finished all of The Orville, and I must say something in defense of Klyden... [spoilers] Spoiler
He's a very believable character.
People dislike him a lot for his close-minded beliefs, and his inability to even consider that those beliefs might be driving a wedge between him and his family. And for sure that's valid, but that's also not the entirety of his character. He also often shows up as a very supporting husband/parent that truly loves Bortus and Topa (a big issue for Klyden in regards to Topa was that he didn't want her to have to endure the shame and ostracization he himself went through growing up as someone who underwent a sex-change operation). That dynamic of where you see an otherwise kind and pleasant person showing outright hostility when their beliefs are in question, is I think a very common and a believable character flaw in many religious people.
I don't know about you guys, but I personally know several family members who are great people in many ways, but then start talking about how their faith says gay people live in sin, or you find out that they vote Republican to prevent the immigrants from invading the country (and this coming from a Mexican-immigrant family, too). All of a sudden you find out how the church has created a wall between certain friends and family that takes years to resolve (if it ever does).
The fact that it took Klyden almost all 3 seasons to change his opinion on his own daughter is unfortunately very believable and a common occurrence. It was many disputes, disagreements, violent altercations; the intervention of both the Union and the Moclan government; some unspecified time apart; and a kidnapping and a near-death experience. And only then... only then, was Klyden able to rectify and accept his daughter. I think the show did a good job substantiating what it would actually require for such deeply held beliefs to finally be dropped, and it made me like him as a character that it felt like a real person.

Question Let's say these two meet...
What would happen if things quickly escalated to a confrontation?
And these two ships seem eerily alike; is the designer and concept creator the same??
Additionally, should the Andromeda not be in the same league as the Orville (since one is an exploratory vessel, and the other is allegedly some kind of Cruiser [they always mixed up things: sometimes it was said to be a "Battlecruiser", then it was "Heavy Cruiser". At one point even the title, 'Ship of the Line' was touted around...]), how would the Andromeda fare when confronting/being confronted by a ship of equal size and caliber?
Genuinely curious, since I'm not very familiar with comparisons other than Star Trek. I'd LOVE to see a Stellaris mod that allows one to recreate the Planetary Union during a run...

Question A question about Gordon Malloy
I rewatched the episode 'Twice in the Lifetime' and I was wondering why Ed HAD to TELL 2025 Gordon that they're erasing his family?
Couldn't they just recover 2015 Gordon without a fuss?

Other In the Commander’s Chair - “Old Wounds” Reaction: Part I (ft. Stella)
This week’s episode of “In the Commander’s Chair” is up! In this episode, I am joined by Stella, Orville superfan, Star Trek cosplayer, and comic con enthusiast! Like me, Stella also identifies strongly with Kelly Grayson, so she’s the perfect person to discuss The Orville’s pilot episode “Old Wounds” with me! We all know the story of The Orville’s first episode. But what if we watched it to analyze what Kelly is thinking and feeling as she voluntarily takes her position as her ex-husband’s first officer at a time when he’d rather work with anyone but her? For the best listening experience, watch (or rewatch) “Old Wounds” before tuning in!

I got most emotional at Home (S2E03) and the close second was Electric Sheep (S3E01).

Question Do you guys think Seth named Kelly Grayson after Grace Kelly?
As a lot of you know Seth is a huge fan of old Hollywood so I wouldn't put it past him. Sorry if this has been brought up before.

Other I just finished watching the show and it makes me feel so complete. (I think) Spoiler
I just finished watching the orville and it grew on me. I first discovered it on youtube with clips of the "Majority Rule" episode. I was hooked.
- There were characters I hated who also grew on me like Charly (RIP).
- I also really appreciate how Bortus was shown to be someone who discovers something new and instead of ignoring it, finds his way towards understanding and accepting it even though it takes time. He started out as this really close minded dude and the overall change in his thought process is quite pleasing to witness, especially with his daughter Topa.
- I felt as if I'm part of The Orville crew. I saw their ups and downs and watched them learn, learning a few things myself.
- Watching it felt so right. All the decisions made for the characters felt just right too. Alara's decision to not come back was very sad to me but from her POV, she was very right to do so. I also feel for Charly and how she decided to be the bigger one by ultimately sacrificing herself for the very Kaylons she loathed.
This show is definitely on my favorite list and definitely top 3.

Other Rewatch: Charlie Hate
holy crap i hate her: "oh issac killed my friends and the girl i loved"
okay, but he didn't. He was a robot operating on programming from the kaylon homeworld. he didn't personally kill anyone far as i recall. And if not for him, then charlie would be dead too.
forgive the rant, just got to season 3 on my rewatch and i had to vent.
.
.
also Klyden can frig off too

Other Missed opportunity for Charlie and Dann to have a scene involving pancakes
When we first saw Charlie, she expressed her love for pancakes. That made me remember Dann talking about pancakes and then getting excited again when Ed mentioned a metaphor. It would have been funny if there was a scene with Charlie and Dann involving pancakes.
Dann: You like pancakes too?
Charlie: Yep.
Dann: Sweetness.
Charlie: Just butter though.
Dann: You ever had banana walnut pancakes?
Charlie: No not really interested. Just butter.
Dann: You should really try banana walnut.
Charlie: I'm good, thanks.
Dann: No really, I'd recommend...
Charlie: I just like butter, thank you.
Dann: Sorry. I just wanted to open you to a world of great taste.
Charlie: The pancake itself already has great taste. No need to alter it with unnecessary ingredients.
Dann: Wow. I never thought of it that way. I like that!
Charlie: Well the synthesizer is over there.

Question S2 Finale Questions
I’m watching The Orville for the first time and just finished Season 2, and I’m really confused about the time-travel logic in the last two episodes. I understand that the timeline we followed for most of the show is the original/main timeline. Young Kelly gets sent into the future, sees what her future with Ed looks like, and then gets sent back. However, Claire’s memory wipe doesn’t work because of the protein/medical issue, so Kelly remembers everything and chooses not to go on the second date with Ed. That creates the alternate timeline where Ed never becomes captain, the Kaylon eventually win, and the crew ends up in a completely different situation. Makes sense for the most part.
In the alternate timeline, the alternate Claire and the others figure out that they need to fix Kelly’s memory, and Claire gets sent back to the point when young Kelly returns. She gives young Kelly the protein/drug so the memory wipe works. This restores the timeline we originally watched. But how does that make sense? If the alternate timeline gets erased, then alternate Claire technically never exists. So how did she ever get sent back to fix the timeline in the first place? If she never existed, there is nobody to go back and cause the timeline to be restored.
And if the original timeline is restored, wouldn’t the exact same thing just happen again? The only way it does make sense if S3 starts off in timeline 3.
If S3 is timeline 1, Young Kelly would eventually get sent into the future again, return to the past, and wouldn’t the same memory-wipe problem happen again? Why wouldn’t the universe just repeat the entire sequence infinitely? Does the show ever explain why this doesn’t happen, or are we just supposed to accept that the alternate timeline gets overwritten and doesn’t repeat?
Wouldn’t the Claire in the restored timeline have no memory of young Kelly being aboard the ship for that week? The same would apply to Ed, Isaac, Gordon, and everyone else who experienced it.
So when I start Season 3, am I supposed to assume that everything from Seasons 1–2 happened exactly as I watched it, except that the last couple episodes were basically a temporary alternate timeline? Because if the timeline was truly rewritten, it seems like Season 3 isn’t actually a continuation of the exact same lived experiences of those characters. They’re technically new versions of the characters.
Finally, what happened to the original/main-timeline crew after they sent young Kelly back? Did they continue existing somewhere while the alternate timeline happened? Also what happened to alt Claire at the end of S2? She is trapped in the new timeline 3 without any way back (not that she would want to go back anyway to timeline 2). Wouldn’t the fact that there is 2 Claire’s in timeline 3 mess stuff up and cause things to go differently? Is that why the young Kelly never gets teleported in T3?
Does S3 address any of this?

Question Malloys Family
I just finished the 3rd season and I’m confused and mad. How is Malloys family never brought up again?Ed essentially murdered his best friends kids and just simply moved on from it? I get the them believing, “it’s for the good of the timeline”, but to not having any regret over it is insane.

Intelligent individually. Stupid together. I still laugh when I rewatch the scene where they prank Yaphit and Bortus. Like, did they just discover the Moclan weakness?

Other Rewatch Kelly hate rant
I cannot overstate how much I fucking hate Kelly in the first episode. The cheating was terribly obviously, but I wasn’t overly concerned with it since they separated and people make mistakes.
BUT
This mf really requested to be on his ship, immediately started talking about their relationship, and then within seconds of apologizing started going on about how he was neglectful of her. She can’t even apologize without defending her actions. Like bitch does this really feel like the fucking time?? It doesn’t feel like she wanted to help him for his sake. It feels like she wanted to feel better about her mistake and thought helping him with his dream would make up for it.
Then when he says he’s in a ton of pain in the episode she turns to his brand new crew and starts going on about how she knows him so well and he’s definitely just looking for drugs (yes that’s the gag but she was just trying to flex how well she knew him to everyone). Everyone also knows she cheated, so why emphasize the closeness that he lost?
other than that she purposefully places herself into his space without his permission or knowledge, making him and everyone aboard incredibly uncomfortable. She even goes so far as to try explaining how sorry she is about it to Malloy, being incredibly unprofessional with her subordinate who has little choice in listening to her. Like girl you already chose to be here without anyone’s opinions being taken into consideration; why ask if everyone is okay with it now? You clearly didn’t care what anyone else thought on the matter, because you decided you were giving your ex what he needed.
I know a lot changes but it’s been quite a while and I cannot remember what should could’ve done to make me hate her less than I currently do. I have an extreme pet peeve for people forcing themselves into spaces where they aren’t wanted.

Shitpost Is it too much to ask for both?
Yeah, I'm greedy. I like 'em both. This would be a harder choice if there's no Ted animated series. 😔
