Just wanted to share some of the art I’ve done for the front bottoms!! I love this band soooo so so much theyre such a creative inspiration for me forever and always xx

(Last slide is actually the cover of a gift cd I made for Mat and Brian that I gave to them at the Seattle show last month! Best night of my LIFE)

First of all I wanna confess all these questions and observations have come purely from me wanting to post TFB songs on my tumblr blog lmfao and you can only upload audio directly that makes it past a copyright auto check and otherwise you CAN use Spotify but I hate Spotify and couldn’t click my own dang song posts to listen, you can link Soundcloud which used to be great till they suddenly changed it so on mobile SoundCloud songs even random indie ones all cut off at 30 seconds now and it ruined all the ones I already posted. And of course YouTube videos but that’s when I admit defeat

Or! God bless bandcamp, you can embed directly into a tumblr blog post a bandcamp link and play it seamlessly. But that song has to exist on bandcamp obviously

SO!

Is there a reason why In Sickness and Flames and You Are Who You Hang Out With aren’t posted, to anyone’s knowledge?? I was thrilled that Ann finally was added, and the Champagne Jam ones on their Demo bandcamp includes Montgomery Forever which thank god I needed it. But I still have no way to post Jerk without a YouTube video cuz it doesn’t make it past the filter and no version of it exists on bandcamp. Many tracks from these two albums CAN be direct uploaded but many can’t and Champagne Jam gave me some (Batman 💙) but yeah

Why the heck aren’t those albums available?? lol

Plus. I don’t know if anyone else ever noticed that there’s a bandcamp called “Shooter’s Society” on there that has posted Going Gray as well as Back on Top in their entirety: https://shooterssociety.bandcamp.com

And I always figured it was them just under another name though couldn’t figure out why. But I read about what happened with their one band member and assaulting someone and being kicked out and apparently he did a lot of work on those two albums specifically. So if they wanted them still available but not under their official page that would make sense to me?

But I admit I assumed it was them and not someone stealing their songs cuz of the name. There’s a lyric at the very start of “Fake Gold” about them considering naming the band “mass shooter” (“but the tone felt too spot on!”) so.

Shooters Society seemed very much like another name they might use lol

It’s crazy it’s been 9 years already, what is your guys favourite song off this album?

I am trying to make a list of all the TFB songs with a prominent trombone part, but I am not so good at identifying them. Please help!

Is it a reference to mountain? Fireworks and a bunch of people on their phones?? Also is it ai? Has a weird look.

I’ve always heard the first line as ‘The good thing about this cast is I can still hold on to heights’ and I was a little confused this whole time, just thought it was an artistic poetry thing. Nope! Anyone else mishear the lyrics this way?

What songs do you guys normally recommend for first time listeners?

Felt kinda baller ngl

ready to go for a ride

next year 10 years of going grey tour???? i would be so happy. they hardly ever play songs from this album on tours and it’s one of my absolute favs and was very formative for meeeee 🐰🐀🐺👨🏻‍🦳

For anyone at the Riverside show, you may have heard about The Dog at the barricade! This is Dante, my seizure alert service dog, who went to his SECOND TFB show!

Thank you to everyone around us who helped keep Dante safe during the crowd crush, including security who helped haul him over the barricade when things got too crazy.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone took videos or pics of the opener Foxy Shazam at the Pappy & Harriet's show on Sunday? They've been doing something different at every show during the bridge of their song Rocketeer, but I haven't been able to find anyyy videos of it from Pioneertown and I'm super curious. (If you have vids of other songs I'd love to see those too just for fun!) Thank you!! (And I hope this is allowed since it's not directly TFB 😅)

I got this done today and love it soo much

Rewatching my vids at work lmfaooo last night was a blastttt!! That post concert depression is hittingggg take me backkkk !!!

So I had an experience that clarified why I needed to delete instagram and TikTok yesterday. I would never use them for anything other than seeing someone I cared about and if they’re actually caring about themselves and frankly I don’t wanna know anymore because I realized the moment when I had started thinking about my codependent ex(it was very much a “Flashlight” relationship) again which was when he lost the person he replaced me with and I’m like yeah they have to care for themselves and watching them not is just severely unhelpful for my own self care and not reliving trauma. I think once I had that realization and that my healing has to focus on me the lyrics from this song changed a lot in meaning and when he says

You stole my notebooks and now you're reading
I can't wait to hear you say
That I got back a couple weeks ago
To our friends and family
I can't wait to hear you say
That I got back a couple weeks ago

He’s not narrating my experience and feelings about wanting someone else to be okay. He’s talking straight at me the listener after narrating the feelings that lead to hearing through to what his lyrics are actually saying and at who they’re being sung to. His recovery notebooks are his songs and the whole album is about addiction and recovery. And I can’t wait to hear myself say I got back a couple weeks ago. I really love Brian so friggin much
