It's most definitely a Rochester NY show but I don't recall when/which. I don't have a memory of them playing Faith in Fast Cars and I don't recall whar Breaking Thru or Rolling on E was.

A million years ago when I was a teenager the closest The Format got to me (that I was personally aware of before the fact) was Tulsa. I didn’t have a car, couldn’t swing it with my or my best friend’s parents, and lived with so much regret, for decades.

In September of 2025 my same very best friend and I traveled to Phoenix to see them live for the very first time. As an a redo to our younger selves. We had the most chaotic travel, got delayed in Denver, and barely made it. But truly it was the best first show after loving them for over 20 years.

In April of this year we traveled to Dallas and had a less than perfect time. I didn’t realize no one else was standing in the balcony and got yelled at to “sit the fuck down” Right after Tie the Rope. In my defense, everyone in Phoenix was on their feet through the whole venue and it didn’t even occur to me to look behind me, I was just so excited and in the moment to be in the same building as Nate and Sam for a second time, my social considerations may have left the building briefly. To say I was embarrassed is an understatement but I knew I messed up. I tried to not let that moment ruin the experience and still had fun passing out bracelets I made months prior and connecting with other fans.

But, Finally, on a Monday night in the last month of one of the hardest years of my life, they are coming to OKC, on a night I miraculously had free as a gift from the universe and a 50/50 custody schedule and won’t even miss work because my travel time is 23 minutes.

It also sold out.

The bank account may be negative but I’m elated they are coming.

Finally. The 15 year old version is going to have a peaceful night with my favorite band of all time.

Just wanted to share my excitement in a place it might be understood.

Not sure what happened but did anyone else have this experience. It got me to checkout and then said I had an allotment of time to purchase and tickets are held for me. Entered my data and then hit purchase and it says no tickets available. Eventim get your “stuff” together, at least Ticketmaster doesn’t string you along to crush your dreams, they do it up front. Either way bummed and jealous and happy for those that got them.

Any chance of European dates?

When I was 13, my brother put a random CD on in the car that had the Snails EP version on it. This was the first time I had heard The Format and upon that listen I became obsessed, devoted, and a lifelong fan.

Fast forward 23 years later, past the ups and downs, new bands, solo albums, and a lot of well-wishing, I finally got to see Sam and Nate perform together again at a crazy venue.

I won’t ramble too much but wanted to share that watching them play Snails with a string section really struck me. Sitting in Radio City, I felt like a 13 year old again with an ear to ear grin on my face, still feeling that same spark that some songs ignite in you.

I hope for those that could make the show had just a good a time as I did. I don’t know what’s next for them, but this middle aged millennial had a fucking blast!

If Sam happens to see this, I just want to say thanks and I was so pumped to see you get to sing whole verses alone. If Nate’s gonna pick up the guitar, you need more time on vox.

Awesome to see them in such a relaxed setting. It was the perfect afternoon!

Would any one of you fine people with exquisite taste in music be willing to sell me a poster from the Radio City Music Hall show? I was lucky enough to be handed a copy of the setlist that night, and I would love to frame it with the poster. Thank you…and thank you to all of long-term Format fans that continue to make these evenings possible. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always felt like the shows are therapeutic! There is something wonderful about singing happy sad songs at the top of your lungs.

Did anyone by any chance grab an extra shirt in a large or XL from last night's show? The person ahead of me at the lower level merch stand grabbed the last shirt off the mannequin and the main merch stand only had 3XL left.

For those who have been to a Saturday in the Park concert, do Sam and Nate sign posters and/or take any photos if you’re not aggressive about it? Don’t want to hassle them or take away from what they are trying to accomplish but wouldn’t mind getting my RCMH poster from last night signed or at least get to say hello and thank you :)
