Yeah, the Jung injury killed my last hope for the postseason
I feel like it may have tilted the players too

u/hotrod19812 J. Hamilton 19d ago
I think Joe Ryan was playing the role of headhunter against us and deliberately injured Jung on that play. Gutless on his behalf.

u/QuirksNFeatures 19d ago
What makes you say that?

u/hotrod19812 J. Hamilton 19d ago
How many of our batters were taken out by Minnesota's pitching staff tonight? It seems like this was planned ahead by the Twins as some type of unknown grudge or something.

The astros just dropped 6 to the A's (as of me writing this) so it looks like the clenching will continue. At this point, neither team deserves to win the AL west.

I’ve been using the injury excuse to cope the last few weeks. It helps dull the pain.

Pathetic. Just no other words to describe this team right now. Playing the most important games of the season with the division on the line and you lose 2 out of 3 at home to the mets who are out of it and get blown out and embarrassed against the twins who are out of it.

This is just sad. Not really unexpected since they sat at just below .500 all season, but still sad.
Age has really caught up to deGrom and Eovaldi. Also sad.
Guess I'm just sad tonight.

u/Individual_Heron_171 19d ago
Bummer for sure.
And to add to our despair, it doesn’t feel like there’s an off-road ownership/FO is willing to take. But, perhaps this travesty conclusion to a third consecutive disappointing season will do the trick.

I wished I understood how things work in the F/O and behind the scenes. People have explained to me the luxury tax thing, but it’s over my head. But for me, the optics look bad. There seems to be a wealthy Owner who doesn’t want to spend money? And players who look like they don’t want to play baseball. Again, if I would learn and try to understand it all, I might not be so upset right now.

If we lose tomorrow and the Astros lose tomorrow, we STILL could win the division if we won on Sunday and they lost. Pure insanity

Anyone else watching the A's try and get the save in the 9th? Just me...?

Crazy to think where we'd be if Chris Martin never stepped on the mound for us.

Just like 2023, Evo is entering a Game 6 situation and has to force a Game 7.

Honestly now, I'm just interested in if the Diamondbacks surpass the Phillies or not.

Tonight one team was down by a bunch and stayed in it, and the other just gave up more runs and never scored again

I mean the pitcher Choakland had in the 8th was terrible. Some of us would’ve got a walk off him lol

Of course the Athletics might actually win. I just want to be free. This is not good for my health 😭lol

u/rafaelloso_10 Rangers 19d ago
Well, somehow we’re still alive. But this is really going to suck if we go through all of this just to end up tied on Sunday, which isn’t good for us because of the tiebreaker.

u/OldElGuapo N. Eovaldi 19d ago
I'm just numb to it all. Unless they really go nuts the next two days with the bats they're going to wind up scoring considerably less runs this year than last year. And yet, somehow, if they had last year's pitching they'd have run away with the division. This is just a bad team.

u/4everMyBoots 19d ago
I have to cut the emotional ties for this year. I’ve gained 5 pounds from stress eating these last few months.😵💫

If we win both and the Astros win both, we’re out. If we win both and the Astros lose one, we’re in. If we win both and the Astros lose both, we’re in. If we win one and the Astros lose both, we’re in. If we lose both and the Astros lose both, we’re out. If we lose tomorrow and they win, they clinch.
6
u/EfficientDot18 19d ago
We have to win at least 1. But Astros would have to lose 2 in that case. If we win 2, Astros need to lose at least one more time.
If they both win out, Astros get it since they own tiebreaker.

Buncha boys who’s parents paid thousands a year do them to play travel baseball. No life, no energy.

bro i’ve been saying this all season i’m so glad someone else is on my side. i am also a white guy. i don’t mind white christian dudes. but, let’s face it, culturally, it’s boring as fuck. i wanna see some fights, i wanna see some jawing. pimp a home run bro. this team is so fucking boring

u/sujack34 C Seager 18d ago
Truth! The last three years have been so boring I have to be doing other things while watching the game. That never happened before 2024.

u/MikeSurdel 19d ago
I feel nothing but pain and suffering.

u/dallascowboys93 Josh Jung 19d ago
Other than 2023 it’s been that way as a rangers fan since 1972. Nothing has changed

u/sujack34 C Seager 19d ago
True I was at the first home game in 72. At least we usually had some hitters in some of those seasons. These last 3 seasons and especially this year have tested me for sure.

This reminds of the South Park episode where they don’t want to keep playing.

Guys.. we can have the most amazing Rangers achievement of all time:
A playoff appearance with a .500 record.
That just sums up this team

I provided my blessings earlier this evening to the Astros to officially just end our misery. And these idiots are about to lose.
It’s comical at this point.

Sigh…for a fleeting moment I had my hopes up for this squad to make some noise in postseason.

Evan Grant reporting another wrist fracture for Jung from that HBP. Gutless cowards the Rangers are for not retaliating. Pathetic organization from top to bottom. That made me ever madder than this stupid loss.
4
u/Confident_Range3376 19d ago
That man has the shittiest luck. THREE wrist fractures for Jung on a HBP now. When it comes to retaliating, what was that gonna do exactly? It wasn't gonna fire up the team because the game would've been cooked regardless.

i got downvoted last time i said we were going too far with the pampering of degrom and i was proven nothing but right. stop pampering a guy with an above 4era like he’s some ace. he’s not. and you’re not winning scoring 2 runs but especially not when your washed ass starter gives up 8 runs. thank you for blocking the trade to atlanta degrom. what a clown lol

u/dallascowboys93 Josh Jung 19d ago
I hate to say it but Asstros deserve it over us. They have better management.
5
u/BeeComposite M. Napoli 19d ago
Even Enron had better management. .
2
u/dallascowboys93 Josh Jung 19d ago
Dallas just has terrible management. Rangers, cowboys, mavs, stars (decent but can’t cross the line)

2 of the hardest losses of the season this past week, and they won’t even hurt since the Astros can’t win…
1
u/SAIL3RZ_ J. Hamilton 19d ago
Well this was our chance to jump the Astros. I don’t see them losing another game against the A’s so….
It’s been a fun year, still a little hope since it’s not over until it’s over.

It doesn’t seem like any of these guys have the desire to play in October.
