Dear Sean Decker and those that employ him...wtf?
You have lost generations of Rangers fans by your mis-management of media rights.
Wrong decisions made too late have robbed your fan base of the ability to watch our first place Texas Rangers in a tightly contested playoff race.
Seriously, what are you doing?
Fans can't root for what they can't see. Is it that difficult for the big brains of the organization to understand?
Rooting for CY, Skip and the players to succeed or fail as athletes will do.
Piss on the ownership and front office for turning their back on the fan base.
And for the folks that have waded through the cable/vpn/victory/brazzer bs. Good on you.
80 % of the fan base won't/can't navigate your hubris.
So, Sean Decker. Enjoy your job. There are 12 guys in the fifth row that can do it better.

Surprised the mods haven’t taken this down as it isn’t about the Texas Rangers Baseball Club 💀

Im a Mets fan living in dfw. I watch all the Mets games cause im out of market, but cant watch them against the rangers because blackout. I did a simple google search and found exactly what channel ranger games are on based on what I use to watch tv.
Why do they have to have 2 ads on the mound though. Real distracting

The ads and zoomed-out camera so that they can get the Globe Life billboard behind the plate in the shot drives me crazy.

I occasionally forget how much I hate the zoomed out shot behind the mound until I watch any other broadcast and then I’m instantly reminded how much ours sucks.

I was talking about on the mound. A Honda one which by the 6th inning is unrecognizable then a second digital one for pluto.tv. I've never seen 2 on the mound during a telecast. Hell even espn doesnt do 2 ads

You should have cut a deal with an independent over the air station to carry every game on the schedule.
This goes for the Mavericks and Stars as well.
You're going to lose fans over this love of steaming BS.

Worked for the Stars?!

We shall see.
I won't be streaming Stars games.
I stand by my comment that a deal should have been struck with a local station to air all the games that are not subject to a national telecast.

I live in Houston and T-Mobile gives me free MLB package. I can watch everybody but the Rangers. The only team I want to watch.

I watch them on RSN through Directv stream, unless they're showing locally on channel 33. Haven't had an issue all year. Only ones I miss are the AppleTV exclusives on the occasional Friday.

Yes DIRECTV has always been good for the rangers.

Unfortunately, RSN hasn't negotiated deals with IPTV/OTT providers like YouTubeTV or Hulu Live, leaving tons of us in the lurch.

Honestly - this is a sub . 500 team - they are only in a ‘race’ because the rest of the division is just as bad. Even if I could watch - I wouldn’t. They aren’t good, and even if they squeak in - it’s a game / round one bounce.

Last time I looked at the standings a few weeks ago… first in our division would be no higher than third in any other division in mlb. Sad.

Watched or listened to 80% of the games live last year. Easy access to the V+ app was a deciding factor when we got new TVs for the house.
I couldn’t pick Nicky Lopez out of a lineup and the game I listened to on the radio the other day had multiple relievers I’d never heard of.

V+/BZZR makes it pretty easy to watch them for me. Not sure how you are even having trouble. If your post said what your actual problem was, people here could help you figure out the best solution for you. But your post is just complaining and blaming the organization because you can’t figure out how to use google lmao

OP's issue (and mine) is that Bzzr still isn't on all the major smart TV operating systems. They just released their app for Roku, but have not said anything about plans to support those of us watching on Samsung televisions. They also didn't have the Amazon Fire app easy to find & download initially.

Don’t most smart tv’s offer the option to cast video from your phone to the TV?
1
u/EMcCutchan 4 McCutchen 20d ago
Why would I want to involve my phone in this when the TV is supposed to do it alone? It's 2026!
2
u/eau_le_doit 20d ago
Because as you stated, the tv can’t do it alone. Besides, at some point the tv manufacturers will stop supporting updates to the tv os and then apps will stop being updated to function on said os and your options will be to buy a new tv, use your phone or do without. Isn’t planned obsolescence great?

People always think they can do things better, but really knowing how tv deals actually work and how much time goes into them. Lots of factors I'm sure we don't even know or hear about.
But sure, you can do better as you rant on reddit. And I highly doubt it's 80%, not even close to that I guess.

I love how you try to dress someone down without adding any insight or relevance to the conversation.
Why don’t you fill us in on the V+ decision, the decentralized local broadcast rights across the league & regional OTA rights and a few other things we may be missing? Pretend I don’t know anything about them and inform me.

Never once did I say I knew about it. I said I'm sure there are lots of factors that we know nothing about.
Also, I've zero issues watching any Rangers game this year. Not that difficult to watch if you have a brain.

If you pay for MLB at bat you should be able to watch EVERY GAME. i have to imagine this independent bullshit will be part if the new CBA.
