ANNOUNCEMENTS 🚨 Don't engage with new accounts.

As you are probably noticing for a few days we have been seeing a rise in rage bait posts especially from new low karma accounts. Don't engage with such posts as the person behind it is a caste obsessed person (it's obvious which caste they are from, no need to mention) and is also not from our state.

Their caste was criticised in our sub which is why he is doing all of it. Basically he is larping as one of us to spread negetive perception about our sub its users and telangana people in general.

For now I am assuming it's just one person behind it but there might be more. So don't engage with such accounts and most importantly report and block.

AskTelangana ❓ Telangana's most lethargic Govt. and its Institutions - Autocratic Rule without Accountability in a Nutshell

Thumbnail gallery
10 Upvotes

I keep voicing out fundamental and chronic issues on my twitter account tagging relevant officials. As usual, there's no response nor any acknowledgement from these useless institutions. I also call 100 helplessly during loud nuisance times, the calls get answered but there won't be any action from their side.

Where's the accountability? Why do we have to accept such autocratic rule under democracy? I'm politically agnostic, so I don't excuse any individual leader or party - I question everything that's not right especially the fundamental rights in the interest of all of us.

AskTelangana ❓ Are we slowly losing Telangana's cultural identity, especially in Hyderabad?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I want to know whether other people from Telangana, especially Hyderabadis, have noticed the same thing.

Are we becoming so eager to look modern, cosmopolitan, or culturally similar to everyone else that we're slowly losing touch with what makes us distinctly Telangana?

I'm not saying culture should never change. Every culture evolves, and Hyderabad has always been a meeting point of different languages, traditions, and communities. I'm also not against North Indian or Western culture. The problem, in my opinion, starts when we begin treating our own traditions as outdated or uncool while treating everything imported as fashionable.

1. Our festivals are becoming events, but are we preserving their traditions?

Look at Bathukamma. Its distinctive identity comes from seasonal flowers, traditional folk songs, women gathering in circles, and generations participating together. Telangana's own government describes it as an important symbol of the state's cultural identity.

Source: Telangana Government — Language and Culture

But in some urban celebrations, I feel the emphasis is increasingly shifting towards DJs, huge sound systems, lighting, stages, and dancing that resembles a nightclub or concert.

There's nothing inherently wrong with music or modern celebrations. But if the traditional songs, dances, and community rituals become secondary, what exactly are we preserving?

The same question applies to Bonalu and Vinayaka Chavithi. We should be able to modernize celebrations without allowing the traditions that distinguish them to become an afterthought.

2. Why does our own traditional clothing sometimes feel less fashionable?

At weddings and festivals, why do some young people feel more excited about wearing outfits associated with Bollywood, North Indian wedding fashion, or Western trends than learning about their own regional attire?

Why aren't we equally enthusiastic about traditional Telangana styles, sarees, langa-vonis, panchalu and other regional clothing?

I'm not saying anyone should be forced to wear a particular outfit. Wear whatever you like. My concern is whether we are choosing different styles because we genuinely prefer them, or because we have unconsciously learned to associate our own traditions with being old-fashioned.

A culture doesn't survive because it exists in museums. It survives because ordinary people continue to wear it, practise it, and pass it on.

3. Our language deserves more respect

This is one of my biggest concerns.

Telangana Telugu has its own vocabulary, expressions, pronunciation, humour, folk traditions, and regional variations. Hyderabad's speech also reflects centuries of interaction between Telugu and Deccani Urdu.

That linguistic mixture is part of Hyderabad's history. Urdu influence does not make Telangana Telugu any less Telugu, and speaking a mixed urban dialect does not automatically mean someone has lost their identity.

My concern is different: are children still learning the native words, expressions, stories, and regional speech of their families and villages? Or are some of those things gradually disappearing from everyday conversation?

Sometimes people mock regional accents or consider standardized Telugu more respectable. If children grow up believing that their grandparents' way of speaking is inferior, they may stop passing it down.

A language can survive officially while some of its local vocabulary and oral traditions fade away. That is why preserving regional speech matters.

4. Hyderabad's food culture is bigger than biryani

Hyderabadi biryani, haleem, and the city's famous food traditions are part of our heritage too. They aren't the enemy.

But Telangana also has a rich culinary tradition of its own: jonna rotte, sajja rotte, sarva pindi, sakinalu, gongura pachadi, regional curries, and traditional festival foods.

The Telangana Tourism website documents many of these dishes:
Telangana Tourism — Gastronomy

How many young people regularly eat these foods, learn to prepare them, or know which dishes are associated with their family's region?

How often do we introduce these dishes to friends compared with the restaurant foods that dominate urban food culture?

The issue isn't that biryani or other cuisines are popular. It's whether our regional food traditions receive the same enthusiasm, investment, and attention.

5. Are we confusing cultural pride with copying what is popular?

Garba and dandiya are wonderful traditions, and people should absolutely be able to enjoy them.

But when we celebrate Bathukamma, shouldn't we also make sure its traditional songs and dances remain central? Why should every celebration need to follow the same DJ-driven format to feel exciting to younger people?

We don't need to reject other cultures to appreciate our own. We need to stop assuming that something becomes more modern or prestigious simply because it comes from somewhere else.

The goal should be cultural confidence, not cultural isolation.

6. What happens when the next generation no longer knows the difference?

This is the part that worries me most.

Imagine a child who grows up in Hyderabad knowing popular songs, social-media trends, restaurant foods, and fashionable outfits, but barely knowing traditional Telangana folk songs, regional words, local festival customs, or the food their grandparents grew up eating.

That child grows up and passes on what they know to their own children.

Nothing dramatic happens in a single generation. There is no moment when a culture suddenly disappears. Traditions can simply become less familiar, less frequently practised, and eventually harder to recover.

Of course, this isn't inevitable. Families, schools, artists, and communities can keep traditions alive while embracing modern life.

But it requires conscious effort.

7. What about economic ownership and representation?

I also wonder whether we discuss local cultural preservation enough alongside local economic opportunity.

Who gets opportunities to build businesses, establish brands around regional products, preserve traditional crafts, develop local food enterprises, and create jobs within Telangana?

I sometimes hear people complain that particular trading, hospitality, and real-estate sectors are dominated by communities with long-established business networks, while local people feel underrepresented in some areas.

I don't think it is fair to blame an entire linguistic, religious, or regional community for its members' business success. Hyderabad has been shaped by people from many backgrounds, and its economy benefits from that diversity.

But it is reasonable to ask whether people born and raised in Telangana have accessible opportunities to build businesses, develop skills, own enterprises, and participate in the prosperity of their own region.

We should examine actual ownership, employment, investment, and access-to-capital data rather than rely on assumptions about who owns what.

Cultural preservation also needs practical support: local entrepreneurs, regional food businesses, folk artists, language resources, and institutions that help younger people engage with their heritage.

My question to fellow Telangana people, especially those from Hyderabad:

Have you noticed any of these changes in your own families, neighbourhoods, festivals, or schools? Which traditions are genuinely fading, which are thriving, and which are simply evolving?

And most importantly, how do we make Telangana culture something young people are genuinely proud to participate in, rather than something they remember only during festivals?

I want a real discussion, not an argument about which culture is superior. We can be cosmopolitan, welcome people from everywhere, and still have a strong sense of who we are.

Modernization should expand our identity, not make us embarrassed by our roots.

Ambulance-Borne Burglars Disguised in Nighties Loot SBI ATM in Telangana's Kamareddy

Kamareddy, Telangana

Unidentified miscreants disguised in nighties and face masks broke into a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM and fled with cash at the Gandhari mandal headquarters in Kamareddy district during the early hours of Sunday.

According to police, the suspects arrived in an ambulance between 1:00 am and 1:30 am at the ATM kiosk located along the Kamareddy - Banswada main road. CCTV footage captured the masked individuals, dressed in women's nightwear, using gas-cutting equipment to break open the cash dispenser.

The incident came to light later in the morning when local residents noticed the heavily damaged kiosk and alerted the authorities.A team from the Gandhari police station, along with forensic and clue team personnel, reached the spot to secure the area and collect fingerprints and other material evidence.

A case has been registered and multiple police teams have launched a manhunt to trace the suspects and track the getaway vehicle using footage from highway surveillance cameras in the region. Bank officials have yet to confirm the total amount stolen.

The poll is primarily for Telangana Telugus i.e. Telugus with family origins in Telangana districts from generations.

Recent Telugu migrants or migrants with 1-2 generations history from Andhra, Telangana Muslims, Lambadis, Christians, etc. please select the third option.

Note: I'm conducting this poll out of genuine statistical curiosity and to check how accurate my estimations are.

Politics Given the unique assembly in Telangana, like Kerala, Is it possible that it will happen here too?

Thumbnail youtube.com

Kerala Assembly passed a resolution for the Removal of the CEC. How significant is it in terms of legality is unclear to me, but this is huge in my opinion. I don't know what the next steps are, but this isn't just a bunch of people making noise now.

That made me think. Can we expect the same thing to happen in Telangana Assembly too? Just like Kerala, BJP is a insignificant minority here too. Both the ruling and opposition parties in Kerala and Telangana have demanded the resignation of the CEC.

Even though both Revant Reddy and KCR/KTR speak against the CEC, it will be interesting if they really do go ahead and do this. I think they would like to stay in the good books of Modi, at least more than the UDF and LDF of Kerala.

One batch of loudspeakers has been blasting for almost 6 hours and is still going right now, then another batch arrives on a truck a while ago making even louder noise.

I see many reasons every day why the place I stay is not going to get developed as other places. Of course, the legal system in my area being a joke when it comes to these things upon complaining is one of them.

To be honest, at this point I feel a bit jealous of some people who are just lucky enough to be born in an environment here (or in other countries) where one can sleep peacefully, focus and work on actual things every day that make a difference in some kind of development.

Before some people say "just move out", I would if I could afford it right now. But, I'm planning to move out though, until then I think it's going to be mentally draining.

Rant Creamstone is serving cockroaches in its ice cream. Their official response is that the photo is "AI-generated"

Just wanted to put this out there as a warning if you're planning to grab dessert at Creamstone

You ever shell out ₹300 for a tiny cup of ice cream, only to find a cockroach in it? The absolute whiplash of going from pure joy of eating ice cream to instant gag-inducing disgust is something different.

That's actually not even the worst part.. When I complained to the company asking for a basic apology and accountability, you won't believe what they came back with. They had the audacity to claim that the photo of the cockroach was AI-generated.. and that I need to apologize to them (lol).

It's one thing to have terrible hygiene and serve contaminated food. It is an entirely new, sociopathic level of arrogance to expect a paying customer to apologize for calling out your negligence.

Stay safe and check your desserts, guys. Never ordering from them again.

Discussion 🎤 Vote Chori vs Horse-Trading: Congress Is Terrible, But Its Leaders Are BhiJayPee Assets? 🤡

Post image
21 Upvotes

The Political Washing Machine: Change the Flag, Keep the Career.

Let's talk about the biggest irony in Indian politics right now.

Everyone is arguing about vote chori, electoral integrity and whether democracy is being respected. Fair enough. If there are irregularities, investigate them and produce the evidence.

But apparently, democracy deserves endless scrutiny before the results and considerably less curiosity about what happens AFTER them.

Look at Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pema Khandu, Manik Saha, Annapurna Devi, Sarbananda Sonowal and Suvendu Adhikari. Prominent politicians who came to the BhiJayPee from Congress, RJD, AGP, TMC and other political backgrounds.

Now, here's where the comedy begins. 😂

When these politicians were in other parties, their political histories could be used to attack those parties. Once they joined BhiJayPee, they became valuable additions to the team.

So which is it? Were their old parties terrible, or were these politicians suddenly acceptable the moment they changed flags? 🤣

And before someone jumps in with "politicians can change parties," congratulations on discovering the obvious. Nobody said every defection is illegal.

The question is about democratic accountability.

A voter supports a candidate under one political banner. That representative switches sides. The receiving party celebrates the additional numbers, calls it strategy, and expects everyone to applaud.

And when a government changes because of defections, where exactly does the voter's original mandate fit into this celebration?

People regularly throw around the term horse-trading when legislators are suspected of being induced to switch sides. Those allegations need evidence, of course. But why should questions about transparency, political incentives and accountability be dismissed just because the party benefiting from the switch is yours?

If vote chori is a threat to democracy, why should the democratic implications of post-election defections be beyond scrutiny?

They're different issues, but both raise questions about representation and accountability.

And the usual defence — "Congress does it too" — isn't the knockout argument people think it is. If another party does something questionable, that doesn't automatically make it acceptable when your party does it.

Moody ji's party is entitled to recruit politicians from other parties. Those politicians are entitled to change their political affiliations within the law. And voters are entitled to ask uncomfortable questions about the consequences.

But please spare us the lecture about unwavering ideology every time political convenience runs in your favour. 😂

Apparently, a politician's past is permanent when attacking the opposition and erasable when welcoming them into your own party.

Democracy isn't a football match. Your side doesn't become principled by default, and the other side doesn't become guilty by default.

So here's the question:

Do we actually care about political integrity, or do we only care about it when the other team is in power?

Let's hear the arguments — not just the party slogans. 👀

AskTelangana ❓ Telangana OBC-NCL application: DOB year mismatch on caste certificate — can my application be rejected?

Hi everyone,

I applied for my OBC-NCL certificate in Telangana yesterday through MeeSeva, and I'm worried about a mistake in my existing caste certificate.

The DOB year on my caste certificate is 2005, but my actual correct birth year is 2004. My Aadhaar and SSC marks memo both show 2004.

I submitted all three documents (caste certificate, Aadhaar and SSC memo) with my OBC-NCL application.

I have a few questions:

  1. Can my OBC-NCL application be rejected because of this DOB mismatch?
  2. Since my Aadhaar and SSC memo show the correct year, will the officer consider those documents?
  3. Should I correct my existing caste certificate immediately, or can the pending OBC-NCL application be processed using my other documents?
  4. Has anyone faced a similar issue in Telangana? What happened in your case?

I'm also preparing for IBPS RRB Clerk, so I'm worried about any complications during document verification.

Any advice from people who have gone through this process would be appreciated. Thank you!
