I believe this is every unique named character model we have had, i know there was a water and air cast models from the inquisitor game but I am not sure they were "named characters" as the 40k game system would call them, plus bird teeth are easier to find on Ebay than them

I run 2 rips in my current list, maybe eventually I’ll go for trip-tide, but I run 2 in cannons because of their usefulness with elites, vehicles, and monsters.

Does anyone use the heavy burst? And if you do is it good/would you recommend it?

I’m guessing it’s more for infantry and with leaving my stormsurge out of my current list maybe it’d be worth taking?

I have always seen full helmets visors as classically SciFi over the more niche SciFi looks of clustered optic lenses but lenses are definitively the Tau look.

Do visors have a place in Tau technology?

I can't figure out how to take more detailed pictures... But I'm happy with how the water looks!

Hello fellow servants of the Greater good

I'm currently selling old and unwanted Projects because I started too many different things before actually playing the Tabletop itself.

This way I found out that I don't particularly like the Chaos Spacemarine Playstyles.

So I want to push them aside and I'm currently trying to decide between to factions.

Astra Militarum or Tau.

I asked a similar Question on the Imperial guard sub and got mixed answers.

The Tau were one of the 3 Factions that I wanted to start 40k with. (Chose Necrons instead because green glowing skeletons are awesome)

So now I'm back do deciding what future faction will join my Shelf.

I love the lore and especially the Battlesuits.

You can unleash your entire Fanboy lore and Tabletop stuff or what you hate about them.

I want to hear everything your empire has to offer.:)

New to Warhammer 40k. I have played tabletop before however, I was big into Warmachine/hoarded and Infinity. I came into a Tau lot (Pics show all WITH THE EXCEPTION of 2 devilfish, 2 hammerheads, and a skyray). I wanted some help making a list and I should preface, it doesn't have to be with what all I have here...if I have to grab some models I certainly don't mind.

I have to confess however. I got into Tau because I like them the most aesthetically but with one exception. I CANNOT stand the mech suits/gundam vibe. I know, I know...I'm playing a "suit" army but hear me out...I LOVE the way their boxline infantry look. Breachers are the COOLEST looking thing in the army imo. The helmets, shoulder pads, weapons, I love it all...so here is my ask from those better at this game than me.

What is a list I can run that is PRIMARILY infantry models. I'm willing to add a few suits if need be if absolutely mandatory but I'd like to keep it as minimal as possible. Like for example, I wouldn't mind Commander Farsight leading a unit of suits, and maybe a broadside or two and a ghost keel but that's it lol. I'd like for it to mainly be Breechers, Stealth suits, Fire Warriors, and Pathfinders if able. I also wouldn't mind the vehicles like Devilfish, Rays, etc. Those don't look too bad.

I know this list restriction isn't optimal, I'm not looking to win any tournaments. I just want a totally viable list running models I can appreciate aesthetically. Thank you for listening to my rant, and thank you even more for your ideas!

I’m taking this to a tournament and I kinda don’t want a bad detachment choice as well so which is generally better. I’ve been playing once a week to get practice in and I’ve been told I’m using twin lance suboptimally

So a T'au Agri/Factory world comes under sudden attack by an enemy force. With the launch of the Xth Sphere Expansion/Defence of some far-off Sept World the world Fire caste defences are low.

The Earth Caste are called into action to defend the planet whilst Fire cast reinforcements arrive.

What unit's would an Earth Caste planetary defence force be made-up of? Would they use improvised weaponry or are they prepared for such an eventuality?

I feel like this isn't explored in the lore most likely on purpose by GW writers just to keep things simple.

Modern Militaries make use of the Economy of force principle which means that no combat capable soldier is left without a task or inversely non-combat personnel are always trained in combat so that a force can maximise it's efficiency.

Why is it that the Earth caste, once known for the Siege warfare are not used in times of need or maybe even as an auxiliary siegecraft force?

I believe on the tabletop you could have -

• Earth Caste Artillery/Mortar teams
• Siege weapons such as artillery tanks or Assault craft kitted out with Vehicle class Heavy Shield Generators and Fusion cannon(s)
• Alternatively Earth Caste Siege Suits with shield generators and fusion/flamers for assaulting fixed positions. These could even be repurposed mining suits.
• Earth Caste Field Engineers
• Earth Caste Planetary Militia

Been playing tts with friends because life doesn’t really give much time for in person hobby’s but I like collecting stuff and I wanna get better at painting because I cosplay. So just got myself the twins since baring another epic hero (my partner is getting me him for the holidays) are my favorite model. I’m excited to represent the greater good.

Commander Longstrike featuring a custom helmet conversion. I made the helmet by shaving down and reshaping a standard Breacher bit to give him a more distinct, hardened pilot look.
This guy is from back in 2015(?) and working with that old Finecast resin after all these years was a nightmare.
I’d rate the final result as average compared to my other recent work, mostly because the underlying source model was in pretty rough shape to begin with. Still, it feels great to give this old mini a second life and get him out of the box, and finally put him in his rightful place inside the Hammerhead commander's cupola
